Greetings everyone. Lately I have had some ideas in my head and I decided to post it here for community feedback and get some help working it out properly.

Long story short, I have recently started my journey to try and prevent colon cancer. I wanted to figure out a way to help bring awareness and community to others who could be impacted and I also hope to find a way to incorporate Entropia Universe. It occurs to me that since we play a RCE based game there could be some way for our game play time to help benefit those that may be suffering and their families. What if every creature we killed or mining probe we dropped could do something good?

I have thought these things so far but I want some community feedback. Let's figure out how to do this right!

1.
I want to pick a cancer charity organization and start doing benefits for it using the Entropia Universe platform. So far the one I have in my mind is "St Jude Children's Research Hospital" (https://www.stjude.org/about-st-jude.html) but I am open to suggestions and I was hoping we could choose one as a community. Here are my thoughts on why I chose St Jude: They help children and their families impacted by cancer and other life threatening diseases. Children are said to be given treatment at St Jude and their parents and family are never given a bill. It sounds like children get the help they need to save their lives.

St Jude has a page on their website with a streaming toolkit (https://playlive.experience.stjude.org/) with overlays and other useful things that streamers can use to get involved. They are also partnered with Tiltify (https://tiltify.com/) which is used to create online fundraising for charities. I had thought it would be interesting to create a campaign on Tiltify and start generating funds using Entropia. We could decide on a name and start raising funds as a community.

2.

I thought it could be possible to find a way to work with Planet Partners or LA owners for our fundraising. An LA owner could set their tax on their land to 1% and let us all go ham on their mobs for a while. Donate the ped raised for the duration of the event to the community campaign. This would give players an ability to go out hunting or mining for a good cause and also it could benefit the LA owners too by bringing in players to sample their land and see what they have going on. Since LA can pay out daily when they reach a 50 ped or more income I think it would be easy to keep charity and normal LA ped income separate. Sadly, I no longer own Khorum Coast or I would gladly help donate my land to the fund raising.

We have several past and current players who are affected by cancer. Some of those players use this game as a means to escape real life for a bit of fun and get their mind off things. What if we all got together once a month and made sure these players had a sense of community and fun? With enough people participating we could really hunt some large creatures for very little cost per player. I am thinking large scale Opalo/Bukins hunts since this would be relatively cheap for almost anyone to join in. This monthly night event is when we go to visit one of the LA who has decided to assist with the fund raising. Lots of players show up and we can all have a night of really cheap hunting with the peds generated going towards our fundraising efforts.

I am trying to come up with ways of getting the peds out of the game and donated to the charities. I am thinking we would have to choose one or two people who would be honest and provide screenshots/video proof of every transaction out of the game and then the money being sent properly to where it is supposed to go. I would like to find ways to avoid any funny business and it would be nice to partner with Mindark or a Planet Partner directly in this manner if possible.

Here is a progress report so far:

I have created a Tiltify account and created a campaign with Entropia for St Jude. The temporary name is "Entropians United" but we can vote and change that later. If there is anyone who could volunteer some assistance with creating a banner and whatnot for the Tiltify campaign that would be awesome. I plan on attempting it myself when I get some free time but my editing and graphic skills are God awful and it wouldn't look professional.

I believe that a lot of large corporations match their employees donations to certain charities. I am going to speak to my store manager about Walmart matching the contributions to St Jude when we reach milestones. This could be huge and hopefully double our impact!

I am trying to think about how to get back into recruiting for Entropia. My goal is to bring people together to play the game for a good cause. I have decided to donate 100% of all revenue from my affiliate link to the campaign. So, any players signing up under my link will be doing some good in real life no matter where they hunt or mine. This doesn't cost the players anything extra, my affiliate share comes out of what Mindark and the Planet Partners make when we play.

When this starts to gain some momentum and we have it figured out properly, I plan to advertise this globally. My goal is to contact St Jude and let them know about the campaign. I also want to bring attention to it with the news. I think this could be a great story and impact a lot of people in a positive way. We could be the MMO that makes a difference in real life when we play!

unsure about how to leverage in-game means to do that but one way to raise funds for something like this could be done through streaming? especially now that mindark has just ramped up their content creator program, maybe a unique date on which EU streamers could unite and all donations that day streamers could be funneled toward an organisation?

what you are doing is admirable, keep fighting David

just an idea

Marble runners and the rest?

Goodluck with that. 😏

Noble cause but think the streaming community is bit too small for reaching meaningfull goal. 😔

Still hope all the best for the cause! 👍👍👍
