EBN: Calypso’s Giants Are On The Move

First sightings of Eomon and Longtooth herds in movement have been reported by the Colonial Xenobiological Institute! The start of the Eomon Migration has now been declared, as these giant animals trek across the continent and other species join in on the journey, drawn by the irresistible scent of the Eomon pheromones.

This annual summer migration marks an opportunity for both the new and the more experienced to join in on the hunts, with further details seen below.

In addition to the expected Summer Strongboxes, the Calypso Defense Force suggests there is also still a chance to loot carbines that were consumed by the colossal Eomon last year.

Eomon & Longtooth mission

Head to Minopolis and speak to the Unnamed RDI Xenobiologist. There, you will be offered two different mission structures: Eomon missions and Longtooth missions. Meeting the contribution goals of the missions will give you the following rewards:
  • Eomon “Guts and Glory” Daily mission - 2 Daily Tokens and 400 Blazar Fragments
  • Eomon “Circuit Taker” mission - A choice of one E.L.M Edition weapon and 23,000 Blazar Fragments
  • Longtooth “Touch a Nerve” Daily mission - 1 Daily Token and 200 Blazar Fragments
  • Longtooth “Take a Breather” mission - A choice of one E.L.M Edition weapon and 12,000 Blazar Fragments

The Eomon and Longtooth missions reset annually, granting you the opportunity to participate year after year.

Migration Paths

Based on data collected by RDI Xenobiologists, here are the estimated migration paths for the Eomon and Longtooth:
To find the Longtooth migration path, follow the red path. This route starts east of Cape Corinth, moves south of Livas Outpost, and ends near Fort Ithaca.

To locate the Eomon migration path, follow the green paths. This route begins in the eastern parts of Eudoria in the Minopolis Desert region, passes near Ashi, and ends in the south near Camp Carter.

Eomon deviating from their paths

Since last year, RDI has discovered numerous Eomon deviating from the regular migration path and congregating at different locations. This is a new trend, and there is a possibility that more spots on Calypso might see Eomon for the first time this year. Look below to find the so far known locations of the maturities you’re hunting for:
  • OLA#58 - Eomon Prowler & Stalker
  • OLA#63 - Eomon Alpha, Old Alpha, Prowler & Stalker
  • OLA#66 - Eomon Young to Stalker
  • OLA#38 - Longtooth Young to Stalker & Eomon Young to Stalker
  • South East of Fort Pandora - Longtooth Young & Longtooth Stalker

Longtooths

Outside of the main migration path, wild herds of Longtooth are also wandering around in the following locations:
  • West of Fort Argus – Longtooth Dominant, Alpha & Old Alpha
  • North of Livas Heights – Longtooth Guardian, Dominant & Alpha
  • North of Atlas Haven – Longtooth Provider, Guardian & Dominant
  • South of Limnadian District – Longtooth Old, Provider & Guardian

Novice Hunters, look here!

If you are a novice hunter wanting to join the fun of the Eomon Migration, go to Chug’s Hideout and Fort Zeus to hunt Longtooth Adolescents. Longtooh Adolescents are perfect for you who wish to participate but need more time before you’re ready to take down Eomons alone.

Don’t miss your chance to hunt Eomons and Longooths this summer. Gear up and be part of this thrilling season!

Don’t forget to turn them on this year!

For everyone else, seems like no new items.

Anyone who has done this before know roughly how many kills this is? Is it maturity based etc
Didn't see any info on wiki and wasn't around last year for migration

Problems with mission progress? Only me?

Can't edit. nvm. Touch a nerve just jumped from 0 -> 100.

I believe its a certain amount of ped cycled, not X amount of kills.

When did longtooth learn to run so fast!?

When did longtooth learn to run so fast!?

I think last year.
According to my calculations (number of shots before they reach me at max distance), they now run at 19.25 m/s, so 69.3 km/h. :geek:

So hearing people are giving up on Old Fred which might not be that strange considering we are closing in on the end of the month and peoples bank accounts probably are getting empty but I'm going to give it a go north of atlas tonight around 1800 if anyone wants to join.

We'll spawn some vehicles and if there are enough of us the AoE damage is survivable for any player. You don't need to carry much DPS since loot scales depending on contribution and you will be part of the item lottery anyhow.

For the provider to dominants you can just stand around the spot where we usually shoot Fred down and anyone should be able to survive since the LTs tend to die fast around the group even if there are only a few of us.

If loot is fun like last time I was around I'll happily tip any healers and I expect most of us to be good sports too.

Hope to see you there.

Due to popular request: there should now be (again) a dedicated spawn of both shared and non-shared Old Freds available for teams to hunt:

Old Freds at Jason Centre: [Shared]
Old Freds at Fort Pandora: [Non-Shared]

Me so happy 🥹

Ok, I have to know- what’s the deal with the spawned vehicles? Years ago, I was told that MA considered it to be an exploit. Now, half of the time I join in on a OF spawn, I’m buried in boats, vehicles, aircraft and spaceships. Did they decide it isn’t an exploit? Do they just not care anymore?

people are not supposed to as it has been stated its an "exploit" but people continue to place them

Do you happen to know where I can find the statement? My google-fu is not great.

I understand it is extremely low priority to fix since it only gathers revenue for MA in additional decay and ammo spent, there are really no downsides to it for either MA or players, none that I can think of at least.

Sure people could gather five newbies and pay them 5P/h but that would be terribly hard to coordinate since it sometimes is impossible to even get seasoned two decade players to hug. I don't smell that bad and been screaming about it for a month now along with others (same with warlocks at Medusa).

Edit: Going to guess it is the same thing as with auto clickers (No, you can't use those ;-)) of alts for hangers (Typo intended).

How do the Eomon cross the ocean?

Necessarily by farting loudly!

I’m not a hall monitor or anything, so I really don’t care what people do. It Just annoys me when I have to deal with it. Also, I was involved in a similar episode long ago and was told in no uncertain terms that we shouldn’t do that.

Luckily, there are noob-free places where OF spawns (and is generally ignored). :D
