EU marriage and babies!

Out of the unusual ideas department comes another interesting concept.

Please read the post carefully before posting (with my last thread most people didn't really understand the concept).


What if two avatars could get married in EU? Without any real life implications offcourse but just imaginary union within the game.

This would add another element to the game and would increase the importance of clothing and inject something into the beauty industry because when avatars get married in EU there could be a special function...

Also after two avatars are united there could be other interesting matrimonial rituals :evilking:

Out of these rituals could be born a baby!

A baby avatar could always start with name baby then a name from the two avatars each.

The baby avatar could be controlled both by the two avatars. This would allow a legititate way of owning a secondary avatar so the normal decent players that dont cheat can compete with "cheaters" in this game who may have a secondary avatar.


This raises many issues perhaps out of this discussion something good can come from it ;) but it's always good to have an intellectual debate.
 
Why the hell would anyone want a baby hear? As if diapers aren't bad enough irl!

good question perhaps more drama and arguments:)

I think it's a human need to socialise this is one form of socialising ...
 
eventually you'll have to hire a virtual lawyer to take alot of your peds just so that other avatar gets nothing when you break up or get bored! then your ex brings the baby back after visitation in broken clothes...wheres the damned cognac coat I put on him when I dropped him off!!!

i think this idea has been brought up before, were not quite playing teh sims here. i think babies is a little too far. Lets get taming back before we even think about babies lol.

Marriage thing I cant seeing a majour problem with aprt from there would be name changes and also what aspects of RL would you want to bring to teh game. Shareing owner ship of all objects with game? or maybe limted share of storage items or appartment sharing.

if this came into play then i think some peopel would get married for business reason or so that the could share weapons etc.
 
Oh wel ... usualy the people of Craplootsian like to raise up their clones :)

They often take some DNA from their relatives and then clone them...

The has been atleast one official PE marriage. Don't remember who it was though. Some other old-timer might be able to shed some light on this. I believe they recieved a ring as a token of their love. :cool:
 
Hope babies will be tamable :D

probably lykke and viagrafalls (or what was his name)

I like the concept, but nothing more then marriage; no item sharing, etc.
 
At other virtual universe (i think cannot write the name) you can have marriage, and childs, and i think burials too.
 
My old soc leader had an in-game faux wedding to another soc member. They had a ring a ceremony and everything, was actually quite cute lol.

mmmm and same sex marriages? would it be allowed and if so, can they adopt a baby? but if they can adopt a baby that would mean the not same sex marriages could have more than one baby :confused:
 
Funny idea but why not implement permanent death too? Also when your skills gone to a certain level you just cant get any more skills. And to improve you have to marry and get a baby and then when you die for ever you play as your baby instead :p

( yes i'm joking cause if ma implemented perm deatch they would get bombthreats :silly2:)

It took me years to finda game without such a noncence and than you guys ( ??? why would guys wanna have that ???) talking about having it here...

Didn't ND stream his marriage?
And I think some other member did create an avatar for his newborn.

ps: I don't know if it's the same marriage as others mentioned, but my soc leader was magikziggy who had a faux in-game marriage, with ring, ceremony etc...

I am not really here to socialise in that way. Think there is at least one other online thing out there where you can do that :rolleyes:
 
I like and don't like the idea at the same tume, I'll try to explain in my poor english.

Marriage is stupid also in RL for me so a marriage in EU is 2 times stupid, I won't enter in difficoult questioning

Babies are the best thing that a couple can do in RL; in EU probabilly will cause decay so it's not so smart :laugh: , anyway this concept of a shared avatar on 2 accounts might open a real new world of opportunity for us:
It would be the first safe loaning sistem for items; a baby avatar shouln't be able to do almost nothing (trades, skilling, etc.) but just able to beg for a toy, make pee and poo here and there etc.
A baby should be like a shared storage (his inventory) between avatars, to avoid possible scams MA should introduct a double system of gold codes, if I really want loan a gun to my friend and can't trade him directly due different timezones I leave that gun to the baby and my friend need also mine gold card code to take it (sending him a SMS with mobile phone for example); or, even better, a item received from a baby can't be traded to anyone that the baby again if it wasn't previously in your inventory.
 
I had a Dream about this: We had a big picnic in a field in game and some people brought their kids. sorry to say some of the kids were even more annoying than their parents lol. but some was good babies :):silly2:

Marriage yes, babies, no ... the marriage thing might work ok ... in another game I play, there are quests and events that a couple have to do together in a team in order to build their friendship level to 10k, and also have to be level 50 before they can get married, but ... there are lots of benefits that the characters are awarded along the way for doing things together ... like experience, currency, item rewards, etc., which makes it lots of fun, and the adventures are always interesting, so maybe something along these lines might work in EU, not sure, but don't like the baby idea. Even though I'm quite social-minded, I think babies and secondary avatars would make it far too complicated and not work in this environment at all. However, there could be an incentive for doing the couples thing, and be an added bonus perhaps for those who play EU together.
 
I think its a great idea. Babies.. yes. New avatar, second avatar. Yes I like it.
 
I have no personal interest in this but i think its a GREAT idea. And I think it would be a hit. Imagine the shared ownership or other benefits you could have with official avatar unions.

A virtual child reminds me of the Sims a bit. I think there is a crowd here that could get into that.

Socialising may lead to babies, yes... but let's hope for now that the Omegaton Condoms are not (L), eh?

I can only assume the diapers would certainly be (L).

If memory serves... Da had the Wedding Ring at one time... looted from a Chirpy Mutated I think.

Interesting ... funny that I never got that impression from you from our chats or communication. Also (IMO), anyone with this type of mindset has either had bad relationship experiences, or is engaging in some stereotypical thinking. Successful relationships require mutual respect and effective (open) communication, and sadly, both are pretty much missing in today's society. I know, it's a bit more complicated than that because of all the variables that come into play, but then you have to ask yourself ... are you doing your part, or just blaming your partner when things don't go your way? :dunno:
