Hallo Comunity,

I just want to schow the Englisch Comunity what we have Testet at pe-forum.de

I have to thank MR. SHADOW 71 for the construktion work on the OPALO

We dit this modells with a so cald contex 3d printer - ( real life crafting terminal)

Informations about the Technik at (www.3dmodell.at)

That was just a test - but i think that can work with other items like Avatare, weapons, .... too

If someone had an self constructet PE-Item fell free to contact me for another test.

Mayby there are 3d specialist on the board who are interstet in printing some stuff
 
3d printers are so cool, even cooler if you can play with them ;)

that's to cool. Perhaps you can start a business with remodelling avaters and printing them in 3d so you can sell them to them.:wtg:

WOO! does ur (or your companys) printer hold objects bigger than that?, if u could model 3d full shadow, that would be worth some serius peds!

Shure The maximum Partdimesion is about 350 x 250 x 200 mm

The Models works with textur maps - too

We need to get someone at Scaled Composites (www.scaled.com , the creators of the first operational private spacecraft) interested in Entropia.

Scaled has a 5 axis computer controlled milling machine big enough to build parts for their 2nd generation mothership. Granted that's not the same stereo lithography process the OP appears to have used, but close enough to get the job done on damn near any scale you'd want. :)

Hell, they make spaceships, why not ray guns as well? :D

Small models of mobs in Entropia would be very collectible. Maybe they could be part of the loot? Would be fun to loot a "real" atrox from an ingame atrox. a bit like the coins a while back.
 
Sorry to bump an old-ish post. But as far as fabricators go, if you want to drop the money so you can try to make your own items. You can obtain the schematics for a fab @ home kit at http://fabathome.org/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page. As suggested this is basically an open source fabrication device for at home use. I mentioned the schematics because the ones you can buy pre-assembled seem to be pretty small, and one with some know how could probably build a bigger one if they wanted to make larger items. xD
 
I use Blender, but I've never even seen a 3D printer before. Looks cool, and I do like the "chessboard" idea on the first page. Can you paint the models, or better yet, can the printer read bump maps and textures?
 
I really like the chess set idea, I know I (and probably lots of others) would pay for an EU chess set. :yay:

i wonder what it would take to make it...other than probably 75 years in weapons technology to catch up...

mis Ulla Jamira Braun send me some datas form her avatar an Marber and an EP 40

The modells are all monochrom - but color and textures would work too - more testing

The avatar has still a lot of open edges and it was not so easy to fix it for printing but it is the very first avatar printed out of entropia. Gratz to mrs. Ulla Jamira Braun for this uniqe echiefment.

now some questions...

Are you tinkering with the installation to get the 3d models? If so is that ok per eula? Also is FPC ok with this as far as copyrights and things go?

Yes, 3d printing is cool... but it only makes an original model.. now why don't you take that and make a negative of that and use lost mould sculpture techniques to create a mould to make toys out of other materials than what the printer is spitting out?...

It's really too bad FPC doesn't own a printer so they could do likewise and start up a toy company...
 
we dont take datas of which we were not allowed to do so

and as i wrote it was a private test
 
awesome work, I want my Heimdall and a Rutic Sword as models :)
