Help: Finding Out New Players Rate Of Return

But then it's also a shame to know that new players have no way of getting a good return due to their low looter prof. No matter how much they research and learn about the game, the only way to survive is to take the near 10% loss until they LVL up to their looter prof.

I think once new players get past the SIB stage and completely maxed using the right AMP. They should experience returns around 96% avg, provided they have enough bankroll to kill as many mobs as possible and to use an economical setup.

Blazar was already a staple drop on Exa well before the codex and meta updates. If anything, they nerfed the drop rate and nerfed the value due to new quests, lol. So I doubt they are looking out for new players to the degree you suggest.

I see, I returned few months ago after a long break. Anyway, IMO the environment for a noob is much friendlier than what was back in 2007...

Of course after meta VU it's much easier to reach HP >150 and generally grow faster. So I guess Dev's want more medium lvl players.

Any newbies who can share their hunting returns (if you know how) or a mentor who knows a new player’s exp?

I have cycled ~7000PED since tracking my hunts in mid-Feb.

Current TT return is 91.90%, primarily using maxed ArMatrix LP-10 (L) & Omegaton A103.

Animal looter is level 8, mutant 5 and robot 3.

Awesome, and thank you for sharing.

I just wonder why it is so low when you said you are maxed on your weapon.

Can I ask further in what is your highest profession level and wep eff rating?

Are you grinding 1 mob or jumping around? If former, what’s your avg cost to kill a mob

If the latter, when do you decide to switch mobs, when returns hit sub 91%?

When you make the loot algorithm so anti-new player, even adding new skills to make the 'rich' even richer dont be too surprised about the lack of 'new players either in-game or here on this forum.

Also, loot window's were about 5x more interesting than they are now. Still, we are still afloat. Just about.
Enjoy your shrapnel people, we didn't need it back then, we had items.

Finally, something tangible! Thanks for posting; that 95% TT return is looking healthy!
I'm glad that as a new player, you are using the above setup; it is awesome to see this.
Thanks to your post, it's obvious that those with a low looter needs a higher efficiency.
Keep hunting the same mob until you get a kickback loot to get you a higher TT return.
But once your looter standings increase further, you should be climbing up higher in %.

Thanks! I guess i will stick to this mob for a long time and might post my TT return with more info :).
But i will try hunt for a while in Toulan (mokhats and the other mob with high mu loot), the problem that is i'm having a problem with choosing the right weapon.
should i go with tt pistol + zx amp for 65% eff? or the 1.5-3 dmg rifles with 53-55% eff? or should i use zx amp + those rifles for 64% eff but with a 0.3 lose of amp dmg?
the mobs has like 10-20 hp as i remember
I will do some calculation, but still not sure what to choose

The problem that I'm having is an issue with choosing the right weapon.

Should I go with TT pistol + ZX amp for 65% Eff or the 1.5-3 dmg rifles with 53-55% Eff?
Perhaps use ZX combo + those rifles, 64% Eff but with a 0.3 lose of amp'd dmg?

As I remember, the mobs have like 10-20 HP.

The weapon you are using is the best: TT pistol + ZX has just above 5 DPS. So on mobs with 10-20 HP, you're only spending 2-4 seconds on each kill.
Because of that, you don't really need to use a long-range carbine to pre-damage until their health reaches higher, around the 50 health point mark.
If you need a carbine, definitely obtain the Bukin Spare Rifle, it's one of the most economical carbines ingame for a low-level hunter, but it's on Caly.
If you can not get this weapon, then stick to TT carbine, with or without an amp; it should be fine if you are firing 1-2 shots into the mob to aggro.

Thank you for your advice!
As for Bukin Rifle - i already obtained it, but i prefer to use "Z12 Barbarella" because it has lower decay and higher DPS (with 57.2% eff without ZX). I think it's good for 50-100 HP mobs.
I will stick to this mob for now and post my progress later :)

I actually never noticed that the Z12 actually decayed less than the Bukin, lol. I learnt something new, thanks. Good luck out there!

I'm back with noob returns!
I travelled to Toulan, NI, Rock and Calypso, tried various mobs and i decided to grind snables till i die after the 124p global on them that i got before start writing the journal xD
Total decay (ammo + decay on everything)
My set is: tt pistol + ZX Sinkadus + Longreach 4 + Bullseye 8 = 67% eff

First runs were good but in the last couple days it was very bad, but the total return is not 80% so i'm still happy :3
Animal looter lvl - 5.7

That is actually something i am a little afraid of... i am okay with cycling 1500 PED/month on Caraboks and losing 10%.
(lots of skills gain in return, 100PED hunt gives 3.5 PED TT skills in the main profession/skill for example Handgun)

I'm planning to cycle 2500 PED more on caraboks to get the following skills up:
Handgun BLP 500 PED
Handgun Laser 500 PED
Shortblades 500 PED
Powerfist 500 PED
(corrosive) Mindforce 500 PED

That would be another -250 PEDs but lots of skills in return... and that's a good 2 months worth of playtime for me.

After that i could do some hunting with Z12+ SX on Exa's, berycled, tabtab, Vixen etc...

But at some point in the future,... even if thats in 6 months, when i'm done with Exa's etc... i will have to go up to higher mobs.

The Unl guns are expensive so i will have to go (L) and "waste" PEDs on MU... Also most likely grab a ghost + 5B which is a good 1.1-1.2k PEDS.
An A104 is "only" +230 PED... But the guns have 110%-120% MU... and thats the main problem.

Higher mobs require higher bankroll and this will be an important moment for me.

Do i deposit 200-300$ to buy the gear and have a bankroll and keep playing. Deposit 50$ a month to compensate my losses or not..?

i feel like i should start a new post about this in N00bs Corner

(Apologies for offtopic) Your optimism is heartwarming. I mean your luck in the scenario you presented is that you only have 2 hours. Going with the default design, yes, you're supposed to pay until around lvl80 or so when you can set a foot in the bigger mobs.

However, there will come chapter II so to say, where is mandatory to buy expensive ul weaponry, there is no L alternative. And if those guns are expensive now, who knows where them would be in 2-3 years.

You can go the other route, start off with ul good guns, as early as a&p lr 20 if available. So basically stick somewhere 2-3k$ for the "priviledge" of only losing 1-2% instead of 3-4%. And when you'll feel ready, satisfied you only lost 5k usd instead of 10k usd, then you'll take the leap and go seriously into 5 figures usd for good gear. Exaggerating a bit for sake of dramatism.

The big big problem with this design is that is a (very big) leap of faith before having the means/occasion to get the faith, so to say.

Don't fixate on progression. Put yourself a limit on what you're comfy with (say, a wow sub) and then explore, make friends etc Maybe somewhere you'll find an opportunity both for some peds and fun etc. (Fast) Progression in this game, in the sense of going presto for the biggest gun & mob you can handle is a trap.

This is a good idea and very useful info to have. It's kinda sad that new players can only achieve 90% tt return. Merz does a lot of research and asking questions so he can get to 91%, but most noobs who doesn't would probably be below that. It also sounds like those calypso bone samples MU are going down due to the meta codex. Makes it even harder for most noobs to survive.
@Merz are you also tracking your loots and calculating the average loot mu on those caraboks? I can't imagine the carabok MU bringing your return up to 95% either.
Brings me to the question if Merz's 91% return is becuase of his low skills or if it's just Carabok's poor return rate.
Some theories are that the more skills you gain, the less you gain in loot. Other theories are that 10HP mobs have poor return because of the over kill dmg.

Anyone with a higher loot prof and higher eff. weapons grinded on caraboks with higher than 91% tt return over the long term?
_Some theories are that the more skills you gain, the less you gain in loot._
+++ where does this information come from? also a theory? any action in the game other than picking up fruits and draining the skill-goes to the growth of skills+++

my GF account made 4.000 skill points just with starting freebies (never moved off calypso)
a 20 USD were loaded into the account now is graduated and has about 12.000 skills and
has still reserves, never sweated, just shot monster.
we consider to move to RT to farm vixens to experiemnt how high it can go

Hi New Players,

If you are new to the game and a hunter, please share:
  • What your TT returns are, before using a maxed item
  • What your TT returns are, after using a maxed item
You can choose any weapon, but TT weapons would be ideal.
State the weapon's efficiency rating and looter professions.
PS: Anyone who's from Thule or TT weps maxed can share.

Thanks

MRP
