...and that by a great deal, a nice sum of 158.000 PED, which equals $15.800 USD as the Entropia currency PED is at a fixed 10/1 exchange rate to the US Dollar, and can be withdrawn to a real life bank account, and soon able to withdraw using a Entropia-Universe ATM Card (Maestro).

Gratz to LeeLoo. I admit that like with every other ATH, I'm jealous about it (if the thought "Wow, I'd like to have had one like that" passed through your mind it's jealousy already. I don't understand these people who make such a big hipocrisy out of it).

Though once again, my criticism side (or call it whining or bashing if you're a blind fanboy) tingles to write a few things about it:

This was seriously the most evident publicity stunt EVER! Even more so than CND (we should assume MA didn't know that the asteroid would go for buyout) IMO, because it was done purposedly. Well, at least I strongly believe it was done purposedly, because it's all too much of a coincidence:
Happened while a TV team was there, was a pretty round number for a HoF (odds of getting it round like that are 1 in 10 thousand), and also happened during all this fuss with MA and the press these days.

I won't go on rambling about that "spread the wealth" thing, because honestly, with each passing week (read: "each new ATH") I see how MA is heading exactly the opposite way.

Now the thing that really got me somewhat annoyed, is that if MA can afford to give out a 158k HoF like that, WHY ON F***ING EARTH do they act like they can't drop any more good items? (Yeah, a mod teg dropped recently, but look at how many good items there are, and how many have dropped in a while!)

Maybe the reason is because a purple message won't appear for all saying somebody looted an Improved A-3 Justifier Mk.2?

This was the one thing that bit me about this ATH. Other than that, it's sure good to see the economy is growing yada-yada...

Not denying the timing for the media event isn't convenient however ;)

Well Im glad I know the reason I spent 100ped on ammo and got 78 PEC (NOT PED) and 43ped worth of decay!!!! YAY MA WAY TO SPREAD THOSE LOOTS AROUND!
 
It seems that MA wants to move EU away from gambling and into lottery. And they wonder why people aren't flocking to register accounts when they see the publicity stunts :p

People aren't stupid, they know when there is more to be won there is also more to be lost. In the end, I see more loss resulting from bigger ATHs than more gain, since a rather small portion of human population are compulsive gamblers and gamblers don't stick around playing on the computers.
 
I love losing a thousand ped a day so someone can get 158k PED hof. Hats off to him though, wish MA would give me my wasted life back.

Seriously, one way to imagine this...158k PED. That could be 158 1k loots. Or more than 300 500PED loots. Hell even 3 50k loots :)

The thing is. I doubt they want a lot of people have a, lets say, 500-1k loot.
That way it gonna take longer for them to get new deposits.
And, it's good publicity. A 158k loot sure looks interesting for new potential players.
But you can also turn it the other way around, will not this upset more people
that already lose a lot, and therefor refuse to deposit due to that? :rolleyes:
They say these ATHs aren't from ordinary loot, then why do so many suffer
more and more around these Ubers?
Balance can't be easy, but those that are involved with it, really must look
into every possible way this will take EU in future... and who knows, we
lowbudget players might cost more than what we bring to EU, and they
therefor need to give priority to what produce best income? :rolleyes:
But, I also think we aren't even close to what will come as top ATH.
This answer still comes back to my memory when new top-ATHs comes:
The 20k HoF may appear big, but it is nothing compared what it could have been. ,-)
(I wonder how this thread will look like when it is a million PED HoF. =)

I seriously am jealous just for the fame, I mean this is a rediculously large sum of money for clickin a mouse button, It would easily have been setup by Mindark, especially for this mass media event, I couldn't be ther I was working on a fricking SUNDAY!!!!. anyway, all I have to say is F*&K you MA for making everybody elses life miserable, we lower level players spend just as much peds and waste it on shit and we get nothing, there has to be a lucky player system, NOW ALL MY PEDS ARE BELONG TO YOU, I DONT THINK SO, try making me deposit anymore f*&^ing PEDS you are as bad at blood sucking as TELSTRA. oh and grats on the ATH

Hehe, nope, but we get alot (20k+) visitors from search engines each month, and many of those visitors havent even started playing Entropia yet, and the more we can get playing the more money in Entropia, so we can have some more of these kinda loots :)

....and the fact that i would like to introduce this site to new visitors with something cool instead of a bunch of whiny rumoring threads. :wise:

For those that are in EU for the money, they probably have this as a motivation
to keep playing. And it sure gonna create even more interest for EU.
But at the same time, when a lot of people lose a lot at the time these
Uber-ubers comming, there are also people that quit/reduce playing.
I guess this is just as easy to balance and mix as doin a perfect mix of oil
and water... ;)
 
Eh doesnt bother me too much, grats to him!

Way I see it, good to see the average of gloabls go higher overall. Since I started, globals are spammed more often, and I see higher amounts since then, and that was only February. EU has over 160 million for its economy, so as more time and money goes in, more return overall.

Its a big deal now cause its a 1st, but there will be more like it, and better. Sure noone likes to see someone else walk away with such a gain, when they invested so much. But next one could be you anyhow, slim , but growing chances..... but better than lotto.

Tell you one thing, glad to see it wasnt another biggie in space for once. :)

Grats to him, good stuff.
