humm, since the new VU should be near (the one Marco said as going to focus on mining) maybe MA is trying to roleplay in new times of ore and enmatter, maybe somekind of meteorite (don't know if spelled rigth) that on crash route with the planet and they blow it up, so it don't kill everything on the planet, and all the little pieces of it get scattered on the planet so we can mine it.
Just my little conspiray theory :D
