Further Developmont of Emotes and Social Standard

Good day, id like to post this Thread in hopes to get an actual reaction and support / backing to get some real results...

I would like to suggest further improvements on emotes through "Interactive Emotes"

a good example of this is a "Hug"...
lets say i wanna hug another avatar... than a response will pop on on the other avatars side if he/she accepts the hug... if they do, than both avatars are locked into the emote until the hug has taken place... and eventually finished the hug...

this type of emote should make the scripting process easier... also this will open doors to other kinds of interactive emotes between Avatars... like Kissing... shaking hands... Back Rubs... I am sure we can imagine further uses for this... *Coughs*

and yes... i said... KISSING *Watches all the peoples jaws drop on that one*...
seriously... were not children... were all grownups here playing this game... are we so socially isolated that we can't manage to see 2 avatars sharing an affectionate moment?

how many times u met someone u liked a lot and would've loved just to hug them?
or how many times u have met someone u felt maybe a bit more affectionate with?
i say EU has been around long enough to get on to the further developmental stage of its Social zone and aspects of the game... there is plenty of room to improve further on that.

please reply further on this post... i think with enough backing MA will take its client and consumer base seriously, after all... were the ones paying for the service... and we expect some in this regard, were not just zombies with pockets... were people that would like further development in social emotes and interaction.
dare i even say some extra emotes in the bed....

Well in all fairness you did lead towards that direction and isn’t their already a porn game like that already? Where you can have social interaction and sex or simulate it? Some emotes are unnecessary like hugging (why), kissing (really), backrubs (????) see where you are leading this discussion and the direction of your thoughts. Me personally, there are very few people I would like to touch in real life much less in a VR one. Emotes are meant to express some feelings and such but if you let it get stupid.

In the manner that you are leading on you will have stupid people doing stupid things everywhere. I have my children watch me play the game and sometimes play with me, because they love the mobs I hunt and the things I do like swim, boat ride, fish, and fly through space. I personally do not want to have to explain why someone is in the middle of an oro field kissing blah blah blah. We have to understand that this is a game and if people are lacking that much RL interaction and want to try it in a VR one then some people really need to just shut it off.

I personally don’t want to see stupid people doing stupid things, one of the most stupidest emotes in the game is the will you marry me or the sexy which are both equally stupid on several different levels. And you see people run up to other ava’s and start sexying them I mean really? See emotes are sometimes cool but you just can’t fix stupid and with the emotes you are thinking of well…….here comes STUPID to do STUPID things. So on the direction that you are leaning I would have to say no, no, no and no. But for stuff like laying down looking at the sky or lying poses that you can take pictures of sure.

But not the direction in which you are leading why do we need an X rated version of the eu? And you might say that’s not what I mean but that was the way you were leading. Just my 2 pecs worth

I believe this would boost economy. Would make owning apartments, houses, ect worth alot more. Which in turn would increase crafting trades as everyone wants a nice looking place to bring people too to share emotes with. House parties would actually be fun. There are items on many of the planets that could be implemented into them also. Lets all have a Motorhead Keg party at so and sos place... Dance hug kiss ect Avatars in bars do some of this on dance floor inter active dancing would be cool.

Why yell out in local chat about the guy that just shot ya at a rig when you can flip them the bird or moon them? Maybe make it into a skill and at certain levels more emotes can be used. Are many possibilities with this and I see many of them drawing more people into the game with them.

Don't want some emotes used in public make them only useable in private estates which then would make owning them worth more and more players wanting to buy them.

also they can always make zones for specific type of emotes (apartments for example) so it wont affect the general public... so your children can watch you play in safety... where there is a will, there is a way...
just cause u wanna play the game a certain way, doesn't mean everyone else wants to play it that specific way... some people play it for money... some for shooting stuff... some actually play it for the social aspects of the game... don't deprive other people that social part, at least give them the option

I understand what you are saying but there are other things already in the game RT has hookers and cops that beat on people. Should a cop run up and lay a beating on a person in real life No and as parents we teach our kids that.

Stupid people can do Stupid things but again interactive emotes could be placed so that they are only useable in certain places in the game. Will you Marry me many games players have made up vows for stuff like this and even gone so far as finding the perfect place to hold a ceremony for it. Some games promote it buy having couple be able to get bonuses for hunting together or being able to TP to each other. There are many Husband and wife's that play together and Bf and Gf that do.

Yes I also know many people that have there kids watch some let them play but as far as I know the TOS says Must be 18+ yrs old. That being the case if I had my kids watch I know what to expect for questions.

Why is she running around in no cloths? IS a Body stocking clothing? Why are all those people standing around a creature in their underwear? As a parent all these can be explained.

As young Adults 18 to 25 many like interactive emotes so it pulls a fresh crowd of people into the game. Again they could be made area specific so those who do not want to see them would not have too. All in all I would like to see more people join the game and it do better then die off and this is one of those things I believe would help this out. My 2 pecs worth.

It’s not just an 18+ game my wife and children have accounts and play at times. I don’t want to be in the quarry, twins or any where else for that matter in the game with my kid and have an ava come up and sexually proposition them. See it’s not that I’m emotionless but as I stated it’s a game and it is geared to all ages for 13 up if you want a sexually explicit game play there are many of them out there for sure. I’m saying me personally as a parent I do not what that kind of action if I did I would join those kinds of games.

And as far as bringing in new players what kind of players are you looking to bring in????? Ones who will run around asking to have sex with you and you know some will abuse that, I mean look at the sexy thing they come up now and hump your leg or whatever??? And the ava’s are not always male/male or female/female some male players play as females it would get annoying (I guess) to have another guy ask you to have sex and you’re like dude I’m a man. I personally think that kind of game play is just stupid on several levels, those are my personal opinions. Too much sexually explicit game play what kind of crowd do you think it will draw in? You have to know where to draw the line and on sexually explicit emotes is just that the line. What if any will it increase the value of the game????? I mean really think about it what does it promote? Economy growth? You have to be plain stupid to think it would. Sales increase in apartments??? Ha ha ha just too funny.

What you will turn it into is a stomping ground for Sexual predators lurk and give them a different venue? Think about what you say before you say it. You might think I’m an over protective dad and to an extent I would say yes, when it comes to issues like this. I would agree I want to protect my sons and daughters from this kind of behavior any parent would. My question is due you who want this kind of behavior have kids of your own? And if so would it be ok for them to partake in this kind of action? I know people have met here and found love, but I also know some who have been stalked in RL by players.

I don’t want a breeding ground of sexually deviants to lurk we all are adults so let’s think like responsible ones and use our head (you know the one with a brain in it).

Ok here goes... i agree yes there could be better emotes in game but there again there could be a lot of better things in game to be honest with the game running on cry engine..

There are games/mmorpg out there that gives you a lot more options than EU does.. Eg i came to Entropia from second life 4 years ago .. now second life got a lot of bad press in the news when it was launched because of some of the stuff you could do in the game . but its not all about having sex and finding hookers and stuff.. in the game you can do loads of things like :-

get married
have children
sky dive
build
make money if your prepared to put the time in
basicly anything you can do in real life you can do in second life.
the things you can do to your avatar with clothes and other accessory's are unbelievable..

a friend of mine makes enough money out of second life by selling custom avatar shapes to pay her car and mortgage payments each month.. while enjoying playing at the same time..

i think if Ma worked with a company like linden labs and took some of there workings and bought them in to entropia it would make entropia the no 1 played mmo.. imo

i can see both sides of the coin and suppose its what you want out of a game ... some are just here hoping there gonna hit it big and others want to see the game develop ...

there is so much more this game could be .. and then it would attract a bigger player base ..and to be honest most games like this have a average age of about 30 because any games that require money to play them most kids don't have the sort of income to sustain a game like EU so soon get bored and move back to there ps3 or x-box

Now i still play both game as i do enjoy both and im sure that if any people have played second life for any amount of time will agree with what im saying .. if you haven't seen or played second life go have a look at it .. and the tings you can do there ...and what you get for your L$ at the sidew of what you get for your peds..

now before you all jump on me im not saying turn entropia in to sl all im saying is that entropia systems could be made better... like taming you can have full control of your pets in sl ...but eu are struggling to get taming back in to game ....

i just think they could say right lets look at the whole thing and see what we can leave ...what can we make better and get some fresh blood in to ma as there are alot of very talented people out there that could help entropia become a awesome game to play .. with bigger profits for ma meaning the loot pool would be bigger so that could be looked at as well ..

i did hear on the grape vine that ma bought the new chat system from WoW as it was one they did not use ... how true this is i dont know ..but if it is right why cant they work with other companys like linden labs and so on ..

I've read the arguments both for and against the emote expansion, I think that the concerns expressed about the lewd behavior that would ensue are quite valid. There definitely would be people being annoying little pricks, those people are annoying little pricks now, they'd just have new toys in their sandbox. The ideas about limiting where or when certain things can be done would definitely help the issue, and I think go a long way toward making it a non-issue.

The added immersion in game play that would result from a significant expansion of the system would be wonderful. However, I would expect that MA would frown upon it for the most part as it's something that doesn't put money directly in their pockets. It would drive up new players and make existing ones perhaps want to stick around, so their money flow would increase. I'd like to think that MA would be able to see that but I would not be willing to bet a single pec on MA's grasp of common sense.

So I guess I support those kind of changes. But MA should not do that kind of thing. At least not right now.

Right now they have a game that's infrastructure is fractured, it's afflicted with so many bugs it should be in an isolation ward breathing through a tube. Making "new" things, no matter how pleasant or overall needed, should take the biggest back seat in the world to fixing what they already have deployed. It would be like a ship with a huge hole in the hull that's taking on water, where the captain is more concerned about the pictures being crooked on the walls and making sure the deck is shiny.

The game is 18+. I enjoy the realism, and I would like to be able to have a wider range of options to live my entropia "life" however I please. Being able to "eat", use the restroom, "lie down"... As far as a social aspect of the game there is a lot of that already like radio parties, sweat teams, team hunts and on and on. I think you need some happiness in your life. I couldn't hold enough interest to read it all the way, but from what I see, you're trying to contraindicate every point I've made in order to say what? you don't want to see it? It's a suggestion thread. If you like it, OK. If you don't, don't comment. I thought it was interesting. She's not asking to make avatars have sex, just something more on the romantic side. Emotes aren't something that take much work to create. It doesn't really affect core code, nor does it make that huge a difference to the game mechanics. It's a good laugh, and it gives people some level of enjoyment. I'm always dancing anyway. I'm sure you have other things to do than argue down someone who simply voiced an opinion on a matter that really wasn't your business, with an essay. Stop having such a hard-on for EU.

OK I will clarify my point as I have several people pm me with support and several with not so much support in what I was saying. My opinion and standing is this can MA used more cooler emotes “LIKE” a hand shake, a peck on each cheek, high five, etc sure do I “agree”. But on anything that has to do with being sexually explicit well my opinion is >>>>NO, NO, NO.

My thing is what value would it bring to the game? If your life is so boring and dull that you have to go to a mmo and get your cookies off then you might need to get a puppy to occupy your leisure time. Or go join that game they said before second life. I like many, come to play and socialize with my friends, family members, and buddies. A hello kiss on the cheek would be cool but a passionate kiss what would the point be? I noticed those who contacted me voicing the negative did not give one legitimate to what value does it add to the game if any nor how would it increase the player base. Do you really think people are going to say hey check it out the EU has kissing let’s all go make an ava’s and stand around kissing?????

See MA is in the business to make money not have players come and stand around doing nothing spending nothing. Traders are an asset to the game as they stand around and trade which produces ped flow even if they do not deposit a dime. That is productive so the come here and such emote help them in that. Or for good trades a victory emote is an asset.

So my stand is this NEW COOL emotes YES, YES, YES
