Hi,

With the v10.0 upon us..

Do you think its a good idea to buy armour, equipment, tools etc... or a bad idea with the "Second Golden Age" upon us and potentially dropping nice items that may lower the market value?

pure speculation either way. minimal net effect i suspect, as for every item worthwhile item thats found, theres still going to be a few who want the older gear. stuff thats cheap will stay cheap, stuff thats uber will stay uber, middle will be random as people second guess everyone else and try to judge values without much real info.

fuck knows lol. its gona take me flipin ages to download the update anyway by the time ive done that all the good stuff will have dropped.

ubber or have a crapload of ped to pretty much guarantee an item drop? If not, dont worry new items probably wont effect you.

Is no secret that I paid 7.8k for full (F) jag while I see ppl asking 14k for it:loco:

Don’t buy!:wise:

First less ppl can deposit now do to IRL crisis and no is not over, this mean that many will try to sell stuff before CE2 to be able to own peds in hope they loot good item.

I see some nice stuff going in auction this week.

Think about new items Marko stated that they will be better in stats from what we seen now and we don’t know how many will be looted (remember guys paying silly prices for HL6/8 and 12) and then not be able to even sell it t 50% less?

I will say don’t buy if the price is not to your advantage!

Peds are peds items are shit you can’t use items for ammo and you can’t windrow items (only if you put them in the Banks) but look what Banks offer for items.

There is one think I learned in 16 months if you don’t rush to buy something you will get it one day MUCH cheaper because someone needs peds PEDS ARE POWER not ITEMS!;)

in any case i have no money to ...invest... in entropia. Ask mercury, she (he) has all the answers :)

I don't think Marco said anything about the new items not being L... something to think about....

Agreed... there will be fake auctions and selling threads I am sure to manipulate the market (there always are anyway). Any percieved changes based solely on CE2 deployment are false IMO.

Star is (he) and he is no guru, I suspect some items he selling not to be from him but from someone else. He admitted few time that he provides service to hook buyers and seller I guess he take little fee for it.

But I like to judge market from given facts:

1, ppl can deposit less (in general)
2, price of items dropped in huge amounts
3, high TT items are hard to sell
4, Marko told that new items will be better
5, Marko told us that many items will drop and not just few (don’t think 1000 mod faps will drop)

I read facts that tend to make me think market will go down and not up, and another fact how many of players will quit if the CE2 don’t give them what they wait for? More items on market? How many items resellers can buy? Do you think Tzepu will buy for ever knowing that market may not rise again in long time?

As I say PEDS are PEDS, ITEMS well are ITEMS.:wise:

Golden age for EU, when all UNL SIB items become just high TT Limited items

no, you interpret facts, and i wouldnt even say they are that either. i think there is only two fact there, 2 and 3.

1. less than when? ppl might be able to deposit more than 6 months ago. certainly in the UK, £:$ exchange has risen at least 15%. also people might consider things arent so bad as were feared.
4. Marco hinted some items will be the best in some stats. that means there might be 8 new ML55 drop with better range and damage than ML45 but lower eco. or a new L armour with 50 acid and decent impact protection. or... you get the idea, nothing really changes from previous, we have no idea whats ahead.
5. could be many new 15-20dmg sec pistols (cause you cant have too many of them). could be 1000's nightgoggles. could be many "i luv in VU10" t-shirts.

If MA/FPC does even a mediocre job of publicizing the new VU, we'll get a pretty good influx of new players.

We should see "some" new unlimited item drops, it is doubtful they'll drop with the frequency to keep up with demand, though. It would be suicidal for MA to flood the game with new items, eroding confidence along the way.

After the new VU, we'll see a lot of old players coming back, people returning from Summer break, and new players signing up to check out the "new" game.

An increasing population and not enough gear to keep up with demand... Hmm :scratch2:

New players don’t necessarily means new depositors. I see load of new players at swamp camp but they are not of any good to MA.

Well I quote Frank from FPC “we will see items drop like never seen before on Calypso” whatever that means…

Old players will not come back (EU is not game once you quit you come back).

Maybe really small % but once they log with no skills they know the drill deposit to get skills so would they do it over again I doubt.

Increased population off ‘noob’ that can't and proly can't even deposit to buy over priced gear. Take look on EF I see few ok priced items why they don’t sell? Ask yourself.;)

What he said. :)

All I know is that Angel will finally get the $$$ bump it deserves...:wtg:

(at the very least it should be made "ancient")

Auction is going to be awfully strange if large amounts of unusual stuff drops...and remember this stuff won't have any of the usual helpers associated with it..no WIki and no Market guide price.

Big gamble buying or selling anything now...the brave will win or lose a lot IMHO.

Then we have the new planets too...another major change that may cause ripples...especially with property.

If anyone was concerned about uber items and thinking of selling them, I think they may have left it too late now. Why buy a Mof FAP for example if a possibility of looting one is there...or buying a better one from the SGA series from some lucky sod.

For once I'm glad not to own anything uber, it must be a worry .

when all is said and done this is true. i think you also said you can't withdrawl your virtual item :silly2:

but 10 ped sure does = 1 usd

Do you have a link to this please? Because i havent seen it anywhere and am scepticle that this is just fearmongering.

Either way I would like to read that post for myself.

I really don't think you have been around long enough to judge this properly. I know alot of older players who have already come back (in last 3 months) and others who are planning to come back when CE2 is released. I know neither of us can prove this either way, just that I suspect you will see a big return of old players.

Assuming MA are even half intelligent (which I believe they are) the first bit of marketing they will do is to send an email to every person who ever signed up to EU. If only a small percentage as you say come back (lets say 5%) then we are talking approximately 40,000 returning players from the 800,000 sign ups. I don't think anyone would believe we have 40,000 currently playing EU, so that means more than a doubling of the population.

Although I own some uber gear I don't plan to sell anything in next few years so I don't care what happens to prices, however I do think they will start to rise after CE2.

ok...we can t say much about the prices until the Cry Engine will actually run,but how much time we have until the new gold age is over?
This period of time is the best time for someone to guess the way the prices are going. If the items are better(which we don t know),prices of the old gear-even uber gear-will drop because ubers will always try to be better ingame<they do have a lot to spend.this is just one ideea.
My point is,if we want to fully understand where the prices are going we have to wait a couple of months after the cry engine is on,my questions here are:how long this new gold age is gonna last? and :anybody from the old times knows how long the last gold age was there?

Well from what I read - MA is coming to a conclusion that having items priced at small house pricetag isnt all that good for the game since it tells new players they cant even think about progressing without mortgageing their house.

My thaughts are basically that no item is actually worth enormous amount of cash. Im not saying - screw up players who bought them - I say make everything that comes new limited. Even mod fap can drop in L version. That way we can all use those items without worying of galloping deflation. And yeah - have a chance of looting them better then 1 in a million.

If FPC or anyone making a new planet decides to drop 10000 sets of angel armor substitute (that way everyone has a chance of looting it) - youll have too many UL items making L obsolete and just oversaturate the market. UL items are going down in price everytime a viable substitute is introduced. Only the ones without it stay or go up in price.

I.

Rumors, just rumors. In my opinion we must wait and see the challenge, than we can talk about it.;)

I would say its safe... ppl know that loot wont get better... never did. so the only things that can happen is: nothing and it can get better.

selling bravo plasma tt+5k @ tp :scratch2:

cheers

True we both can’t really prove they will or not come back.

But as I say before I like to read and pick up on thinks.

If you are old player (with the advantage that made you) why did you quit at the first place? Ask yourself that.

Then now if you do come back (are you ready to deposit few thousand peds to start over)?

When you know you chance to loot something is the same as the naked OJ that just logged the first time are you ready to take risk?

For example I know if I was to go away I will not come back to EU just for one reason it will cost money to start at mid lvl again (and that not 15$ month).

EU mails are on spam to me (as any game I sigh up to) I know games like to sent info so I wonder how many ppl did the same and won’t even see the mail from EU.

But as you say this is really speculating we don’t know 100% what will happen.;)

-> Igorl
I dont think screwing up the owners of high MV items is a good idea... screwing up other people will eventualy come back and got everyone screwed up.
MA/FPC will proably make some sort of screw-up policy to screw up a group of player from time to time... in turns lol
hmm maybe it is already like that...

one thing I'd do...

One thing you probably DO want to buy now before next Tuesday would be every stinking thing in the armor shop at Hades and in the TT machines. MA is known to change what is available in TT machine when VU updates. For some stuff, that is not a big deal (armor in Hades sucks), but for other things, there might be much bigger deal... imagine a TT machine that does not have an opalo -- remember the weapon trader in Zychion used to sell Punisher... some blueprints used to be in the Technichian that are not there anymore... and various other items have changed too... it might not hurt to stock up now.

In the worst case scenario, you'll just have to TT the stuff since it'll still be in the TT machine. Remember when Enblade 1 was in the TT machine instead of enblade A?.. what about those fap 5s?... that's a bad example since vivo is better than faps, but anyways... you get my drift.

If you are old player (with the advantage that made you) why did you quit at the first place? Ask yourself that..

Tired of looking at the same shit after after hour. The game got stagnant and new content was sorely lacking. An update was long overdue...

Then now if you do come back (are you ready to deposit few thousand peds to start over)?.

Sure - the stock market has been very generous so far this year. ;) You can always pull your PED back out down the road - that's the beauty of this game.

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but as an ex and soon to be current player again, I've got $5K recently invested and am chomping at the bit for CE2 to launch. I suspect I'm not alone. :)
