hit vs dmg

so, I just ticked over 85 laser pistol hit tonight, but my laser ranged dmg is at 77.75ish. why the big discrepancy and how do I fix it? missions that give dmg? or just live with it?

At level 80 damage you will unlock killstrike and that only contributes to damage profession so the levels will even out.

Dmg prof increases at 50% of the speed of Hit. Using Sniper and Pistoleer weapon in equal measure will keep Sniper/Pistoleer(Hit) & Ranged Dmg equal.

I can't comment on Killstrike, I'm not there yet

At around 95-100 it will even out
Then dmg will pass hit
