How does ESIs work?

Ok i have heard that when u extract your skill on an ESI that wouldn't fill your implant, you would get a new ESI and some PEDs or PECs.. I have tried this with an 10 tt ish ESI and only 2.27 tt skill on chip but then i got PEDs in return and no new ESI.. Would anyone explain how does ESIs work in these situations?

Look on information on the ESI and you see that you either get a new esi or peds in return.

10 ped is the minimum amoutn a esi will hold
so if u go below that amount MA gives u the remainder as peds

which sucks cause a 8 ped esi woudl still be worth 80 ped, but u ll get 8 ped


so be carefull when your esi reaches aroudn 10 ped, make sure u chip it fully or sell it and get a bigger one for small skill amounts
