Hey I know that guy. He was pretty annoying yes indeed but he always gave me free stuff instead of asking. Last time he was online he seemed to changed though with alot more gear and skills to.
 
That was really exciting to read this thread, with happy ending fortunatelly. :yay: ... Star did a really good job using his great negotiation skills :wtg: Me and also a lot of other players (mainly hunters who have ever hunted on CP like me in the past) thought that Star is an asshole who cares only for his matters. But after this act, me and a lot of other players will surely change their opinion and produce the respect to Star, great player and person as well. :)


And to MA ... is it really so hard to put such feature, that presented DrDoom in his post, because people have a lot of money in here ... for many people is EU the only way of subsistence/meaning of life, and It would be really bad to read on EF that somebody has been scammed and that somebody has stolen him some valuable thing (such as imp fap, iMKII, OA105 UL or so) on which he took the loan and now he can not pay it back because he has nothing... so he decided to do something bad :(

MA just think about that ...:rolleyes:

i know both avatars(both are dutch)..toninl indeed was really annoying and i even blocked his incoming pm-s cause he kept pm-ing constantly wanting to teamhunt and beg

dynamage i encountered the first time during eomonevent when he asked if he could join our teamhunt,i normally never let people join whom i dont know..but i thought what the hell..he later pm-ed me several times asking about huntingrelated stuff

but i just cant imagine both ava-s are the same person..toninl was an incredible noob,and he could not write/spell even correct dutch,dynamage on the other hand has some knowledge of the game and didnt write in the same style as toninl

but regardless if they are 1 person or not,just the fact that he did not want to give the fap back right away to karel..and that it needed communitypressure makes me never trust/teamhunt with the guy anymore
 
Cool thread.

But it just leaves me with one thought; this community is a powerfull tool. Good and bad at the same time!
 
Very nice of Star to get involved and sort this out unasked, it was no skin off his nose either way after all. A rather large act of random kindness there.

IF we want the item lock or ability to scan items, what are we doing about it?
How about a petition here and/or we ALL email MA en-masse and tell them until they actually take notice?

They accept no responsibility for our items, and human error is a real possibility for all of us ...in every other walk of life that human error aspect is cut to the very minimum wherever possible...so why not here in EU?

Come to think of it, since there is so much annoying background sound in EU, why not a sound alert when finalising trades to check the items before clicking to accompany the alerts onscreen? No big deal making that happen is it?

Wishlists won't change this, a concerted effort from US may help though?
No better time than now since this story illustrates the problem so well, and has the eyes on it to make a start. Nice example to quote in an email no?

Oh and btw what made the guy giving the fap back was the community...he would not have been able to sell this fap to anyone who want to keep his name clean I guess. I mean, not so many adj faps around so everyone knew it was the scamed---or lets say accidently traded one.

I know them both. I met Toni a few years ago and it was soon clear that he was a young kid, I guess about 14-15. He played off and on, even once told me that he would quit and he trusted me so much that he gave me his avatar login info. I never did anything with it (I have my moral standards) and a few months later he appeared again and continued playing. A few months ago I met Volt and it was clear soon that they worked together. Volt being a bit older (talked about a house, a gf etc..) I think very early 20.
Style of communication was totally different with the 2 of them and if they are really 1 person, he did a very good job :)
Anyway, Toni hasn't been online the last months, Volt is playing a lot and I sometimes teased him about his rl working hours.
I find it difficult to imagine what happened exactly, but I think that Toni did an enormously stupid thing (even a 15 year old should know better) and screwed up.
Yesterday I removed both of them from my fl and it will be quite a job for Volt to restore his reputation.

Lock it in a vault for emergencies :)
 
Couple observations about toni. His story about a friend/co-worker playing on his account doesn't add-up at all.

There is no way that a "friend" would know enough about what was going on to hire a fapper and then know exactly how much it was worth and know who to go to and try to sell it. All these things speak of a person who has experience playing, not someone who just sat down at the keyboard and started pushing buttons. Also, how was the "friend" going to get real life cash out of it when the PE account is in toni's bank account?

I say it is complete BS and the owner of the fap is a very very lucky person because MA could not have helped him out.

I agree with you KC, add to that the account used to post the story is the same account used to post the fap for sale on EF!

It is a name I will certainly always remember when I am dealing with my fellow entropians.

We should still think of that he DID give it back.

Who would not at least have been tempted to keep it?

If its a 15yo kiddie...I mean, took some pressure but he finally did the right thing. He could have just traded it to another avi...seems he did not have that much criminal energy ;)

Me? I have borroved adj fap from my friends many times. Like others big markup stuff too. Still i dont ever think to keep anything. Its just i cannot live with it that i just scammed somebody.
Well there is ofc different ppl and everybody aint so honestly.

That is not the same. If you borrow something its a friend. Its more like finding a bag full of money on the street. And don't get me wrong, i didn't say i'd keep it.

All I am trying to say is, that the guy gave it back and now he is treated the same as if he didn't ... so what was the sence for him to give it back?

Hesitated to post this incident here but since this story about the fap popped up about this guy i think its important to all playing this game to see what happened to a friend and socmember of mine. Please have in mind that im not accusing him of any scam or anything since its just a matter of honor and common sense when you team with someone to share items in loot that have a certain value (often ppl use a 50 ped value) of items.

This is what i wrote to the leader of Holland.nu about this, not holding anything against any members of this soc, i hope they live and play after their code stated under rules for this soc.

Didnt want to send this msg but couldnt resist since it bothers me alot. One of our socmembers where out on a teamhunt with one of your members named "Voltage" the other day. All fine with that but when you teamhunt you often share loots like ESI, wpns with some value and so on. This was agreed in this teamhunt also but after the hunt your member said that he didnt want to share what they looted (ESI 70 ped and a HL14 worth approx 1K ped together). They where hunting frescs. This can happen and some unserious players sometimes doesnt fullfill what agreed in a teamhunt, but when i read the rules in Holland.nu you say "Teamhunt: always fair share". This is not really my buisness but if you want to remain a soc with a good reputation i suggest you talk things over with your member and explain to him what your policy is regarding this. At least my friend and socmember is very dissapointed.

I was surprised by what I was reading here.
Due to lack of time for playing, I've been offline several weeks from the game.

What I allready did is posting this thread on our forum so hopefully it gets the attention of every socmember. As the webmaster I can't really do something about the ingame situations, only suggest things. I hope Bart and other members of the top of our soc, read it carefully and listen to both sites.

Cause of the fact that the fap has been returned to the rightfull owner, this shouldn't happen again for the sake of our reputation as a soc.

I really hope that it was all a big misunderstanding or mistake, but the fact it took so long to return an expensive item that wasn't his, botters me alot. We're currently allready investigating the case with Voltage and other members, to clear out what is going on and most important, why this could have happened.

Even if I haven't been online that much lately, I hope it's going to be allright, cause every damage to the reputation of the soc, makes it harder for me as a webmaster to get visitors as well. So it's needed in behalve of our name, reputation, soc and website.

So the link of this thread stays on our forum to get some result and as a reminder for the future of our soc, that we can't tolerate things like this.

I'm allready glad that the fap has been returned and that he apologised, but in the future, I don't want to have a reason for any member to apologise for something that could have been prevented.

Yeah, I stole my neighbours car the other day and tried to sell it. Nobody wanted to buy it though, so I gave it back and now I am a great person.

Assholes are born, not grown. Everyone can check this on him/herself.
