You seem to quite enjoy quitting Entropia! One of the great things about Entropia is that as a sandbox, it is up to the Entropian to construct personal goals and decide on an individual basis how they get value out of the system. Perhaps for you the answer is that Entropia is worth playing because playing is a prerequisite to quitting!

To play this game and experience slower ped loss, you need to invest considerable money in gear. After doing so, the game becomes the most boring adventure you will ever have in life, and you need to be cramming that adventure down your throat at mnimum, 12 hours a day to make the gear purchase worthwhile, and level out your returns. There is no interesting loot left in creatures to loot, and there are no interesting, imaginative quests to do. Profit ? Be a trader like everyone else, it's the only way.

I think most people stick around because their brain still thinks this is the old PE. It is certainly not. There is just little to no value for your money when playing this game, other than hanging with soc mates. Is it worth it to start playing as a hunter in 2026 ? Does investing 20k US dollars to get a job that pays much less than minimum wage sound like a good time to you ? Then go for it !

I think any time to start playing Entropia is a good time to start. If I got the chance I would do it all over again. Absolutely love this game but it can be frustrating sometimes.

It can be fun, if you know or learn to know what to expect.

I'v had good time for past half year i played.

It's a choise. Make it. 👍

"worth" is subjective to all - But, the real question is there "value" in playing this game?, If I play other games with subscription or other micro transaction things do i get the same value from those games vs this game? I play games cuz theyre games. there is no "value" to previous games ive spent money in, other than the "experience". Here at least theres true value and all actions of all players have impacts to everything in game.
I truly believe if you play this game for the game and can find joy in that, then the rest is noise.

Great vid, best of luck with the challenge
What's the font style/effect at 2:05? Fucking clean

‘I’m quitting for good’… but first, 52 weeks of ‘Episode 1: I’m definitely quitting.’

Just kidding of course ... love a good challenge, but as others said "worth it" depends on perspective. Join some of our events and get your mind off grinding from time to time ;)

Lootius bless :saint:

the question is always wrong in the way it is posed.
when we say WORTH we mean "profitable".
i playes 13 years WOW, paid a 12 eur fee per month, 140 per year, 1500 total
compared to EU costs to rise fast levels is nothing.
was it worth?= for sure i had incredible times, with guildies.
EU is a game, with a dream to make money
i play for skill point rise, is it worth to me? for sure i see 90 professions (some are gay so i dont care) to skill
someone91 play to buy a pub (was a cofee shop if i recall) did he manage it? yes would he do in 2026 ? not sure, but crafting pays
another purchased a Tesla truck... is a tesla truck worth? probably not so not even game is.
all depend on goals and who answers. as long as i enjoy here i will stay in, then probably pass to swunt for nostalgia in 2054

IMO this is the second best game on the planet - right after MTGA! If you go please TT me all your stuff :)

We certainly do not all and always equate worth with profitable in a monetary sense.
It is also an experience that we can enjoy and learn from in various ways. These have diminished over time for me, but for anybody new to the game there is a lot that can be both enjoyed and learnt.
As I age, my opinion of RL has been reducing my desire to engage, but minds need activity to stay (somewhat) fit. Thus, also for me personally, I see worth in being around, although less enthusiastically about developments than in the past!

By posing the question and then launching a year long challenge the Op has already answered the question.

Challenge = Value/Worth

Good "+luck-"
I don't think that is actually true, I think it's worth me finding out if it's worth it. After investing so much time into this game for so long.

And for me this challenge is going to be a personal journey, to see if the game is worth it for me anymore. It will be based on finances and fun, as mentioned in the video. I'm sharing for those who might find the information intersting as well and also to make interesting content, which I enjoy.

It is interesting to see others perspective on whether the game is worth playing for them, though. So, don't hesitate to share your perspective!

Thanks for all the good lucks, I'm going to need it!

What changed?
discourse around Entropia went from "make money playing games!" to "just another sci-fi generic mmo"

developers seem to have forgotten that making money playing games is the one thing that was pulling people in. the idea that someday you could become self-sufficient and make an actual income from the game was the dream.

that dream now is long gone so the reasons to play this very grindy, repetitive game are very few.

Hell yeah Bunker

I wish you success!!!! Hoping I can float till the end but you know how that goes...eventually the game forces you to sink.

Like I said to my good friend last night as I was hunting Vixens...my game play from what it was is pathetic....

I think you're doing a disservice to generic sci-fi MMOs here. Most MMOs have regular huge content updates or expansions.

We get the same ol' seasonal grind events and nothing else.

Aside from ARIS and afk shooting at space rocks, what meaningful content have they developed in the past 5+ years?

I sure hope they're secretly hard at work on UE5.

RDI? Spina? Umbranoid? Random events like when OpTac and estates dropped? There is for sure less now than before but they're still trying, barely, but they are.

Great 1st vid! Would recommend adding a 1-2min gameplay clip of the weeks hunt

This fire does damage? *runs into fire. dies, immediately* 10/10 ending

Just gonna add. For new players rn, alot of nice incentives. Way easier now to profit than when I was newb.

Slighly related but not really @messi91 . Plz PM me.

new incompetent devs or leadership i guess, i assume none of them have a clue why this game was known or why people invested money in them.
I don't think this is a new development. I think it was when the OG programmers were fired, or whatever drama, then the top brass got to milking the cash cow. Then, it became only about the milk. Just the milk. No udders, just milk. 🐮
