Item-upgrade paths for a select few weapon amplifiers

5B plates are crafted not looted so you really cant "run out" of 5B plates unless one component the bp needs is no longer looted

as long as the aurli cave is still available but the drop rate is dwindling, a certain some one looted quite alot of them and now less than 1 a day is dropping

No, I didn't mean the mutaed versions. I meant the regular ones that are used w/ lyst to make the original 5Bs.

I have a funny feeling those may get kinda rare drop by this time next year.

TBH i could see them going either way with this. Either a commitment to move to a more (L) economy as they planned long ago using initiatives like this to reduce the availability of old UL stuff, or a flood of upgradeable UL gear to incentivize hunting new content.

The general flood of UL gear suggests the latter to me, though.

Back on original topic: I'm going to be an unhappy camper if they make A10x amps upgradeable and not the A20x series...

i do hope this does happen as long as they dont completely remove UL items from the game, it will help the dwindling value on high end items that have been in decline for years now that people played alot of money for and will once again be sought after in the future i hope.

personally i think UL items should not be looted at all and should be primarily event rewards and found very rarely in event mobs.

even though i looted an uper-end weapon that doesnt change my views, im happy i got it but it would mean more to me if i worked hard to win it, rather than it falling into my lap by happy accident. that however doesnt mean ill just give it away for free

Getting rid of old UL stuff without angering players too much makes pretty much sense for MA. I always wondered why they changed the tiering system that required secondary items. Maybe they decided to come up with something more subtle...

As the A100 parts generation is directly from Amp TT, so if the process is valuable, A103 should cost at least 3/4 of a A104. Having economic amps for the post-opalo stage - A102 and A103 - available is IMHO very important, so its a pity if a lot of these amps get removed from game, and as a result, the markups go to A101 levels or higher.

Well it will open up the market for limited amps a bit more, and at least i can sell those 2 a103's i have gathering dust in storage for a few years for a nice profit

If this is the case then they should do this to uber rare items...

Omegaton Fast aid packs parts. Would be interesting to see if people with adj,imp, mod fap would choose to "refine" it in hopes of looting one again.

Or EWE EP Series parts - Refine any EWE EP weapon in hopes of looting one again.

Would be cool to see if any mod mercs owners would choose to "refine" their 19k USD weapon.

MA's is truly stepping up their game. People are blindly refining their amps (which we all know stopped dropping a long time ago) in hopes of something better - that's pure gamble. And my guess is they'll introduce Omegaton AXX Series (L) edition in the future.

If we knew exactly what these A100 series parts did, then it would be more reasonable. Sure it's an upgrade path. But how big?

I for one won't refine any of my amps until such time that I deem it worth the risk, which atm is not such time.

Maybe MA will let the A10Xs start to drop like candy, thus giving newer players more eco options and older players the ability to refine a bunch with the addition of some rare item to make some upgraded/uber amp???

In that case they could just make them loot like candy and add 107, 108.... 199, etc to the line, there wasn't need to complicate it that much.

If someone did, it will show as a discovery. If it does not show, it will be a closely guarded secret (as not to increase the MU of necessary items).

Maybe it implies putting in a refiner another A10x, together with lots and lots of parts to get a better amp. Also together with some nuisance like novas. This kind of alchemy reminds me of D2 cube... but back then we had the recipes on the official website.

This way, MA retrieves a lot of UL amps from a market, and some few get a new shinny toy at a cost. Somehow I do not think those old UL amps will drop anymore.

Do new available Auction Orders not show until they are discovered? I thought that all of the Raven Armor parts show in the Auction even though they have not all been looted yet. Could someone check the energy amp order section and see if anything new is there? I am sure that this has already been researched, but I'm at my office so I can't check at the moment. Strange, Sarchi just gave me the Calypso Bone Sample mission. She didn't say anything like that...

But yeah, that's obviously it... she's the broker for upgrading the amps.

When I first talked to her, during my first visit to Camp Carter, I was only offered the bone sample mission.
Upon returning to Camp Carter after completing Vault Hunter II: Three Sacred Sites part II, a second mission was available. (I cannot recall the name of the mission. Crystal something or other, i think).

'Adjusting or improving an omegaton 105 or 204 will increase the damage output slightly over the normal version and also increases the max amount of shots that they can boost before breaking. The efficiency stays roughly the same however.

Overcharging or hypercharging a 105/204 laser amp will give a substantial boost to the damage output of the amp and make it last longer before breaking. The efficiency however will go down a bit due to an increased power consumption.

To upgrade a 105 I need the radient khada crystals along with some disassembled A100 series amplifiers.

Same thing goes for the 204 but I need pristine khada crystals for that.'


I'm just looking and to make an adjusted 105 you need

Radiant Khada Crystal Shard x 1
Omegaton A105 x 1
Omegaton A100 Series Parts x 50

To make the improved 105 you'd need

Radiant Khada Crystal Shard x2
Adjusted Omegaton A105 x 1
Omegaton A100 Series Parts x 90

Is that adj, imp and then a last step of hypercharging or did they contradict themselves?

Odd that the A106 got left out...

Anyway if the first case is correct (adj/imp is ~same eco, higher damage, mod/overcharge is lower eco but much higher damage), then it will be interesting to see how many opt for the last step. I know it will be nice to have an A204 last longer without breaking.

This is good information. It appears that the old amps are not obsoleted by this move because of the 'slightly' lower eco. I wish I bought an A204 when they were cheap I don't want to mod it.

This now does sound more interesting. That would mean an improved A105 could have the same (18) dmg as an A106, not sure if its cheaper or not though hehe.
