Item-upgrade paths for a select few weapon amplifiers

Thanks for looking this up for us.

Is that adj, imp and then a last step of hypercharging or did they contradict themselves?

Odd that the A106 got left out...

Anyway if the first case is correct (adj/imp is ~same eco, higher damage, mod/overcharge is lower eco but much higher damage), then it will be interesting to see how many opt for the last step. I know it will be nice to have an A204 last longer without breaking.

From what I could see at the woman you have 2 choices per amp and then 2 options for that choice. So adjusted upgrades to imp or you go for overcharged which upgrades to hypercharged.

Ah okay i was thinking of the 5B progression and missed that obvious explanation.

So again it will be interesting to see how many opt for the low eco/high damage vs lower dmg/higher eco upgrade.

Probably not impossible though... I know I have looted at least one A102 since vu10 on calypso... think it was faucervix i forget now.

Hmm yeah especially the "food" amps could drop a bit. I guess i was thinking of the upgradeable ones.

Do new available Auction Orders not show until they are discovered? I thought that all of the Raven Armor parts show in the Auction even though they have not all been looted yet. Could someone check the energy amp order section and see if anything new is there? I am sure that this has already been researched, but I'm at my office so I can't check at the moment. I want to know if my A101, A102, A103 and A104 are obsolete.

Things that have not been looted / discovered do not show in auction. And not all things that have been discovered show...

In front of Sarchi now.

So for each hypercharged A105, a number of A105 are needed, together with parts obtained from disassembling the lesser amps.

If MA estimated correctly (meaning maybe 100 crazy people willing to support the cost :) ) this would means a lot of amps taken out of the market, less players using old amps. Sneaky!

Edit:

Adjusted A105: 50 A100 Parts + 1 normal A105 + Radiant crystal
Improved A105: 90 A100 Parts + 1 adjusted A105 + 2 Radiant crystals
Overcharged A105: 50 A100 Parts + 1 normal A105 + 2 Radiant crystals
Hypercharged A105: 2 overcharged A105 + 1 Radiant crystals

So total:

1 Hypercharged = 100 A100 Parts + 2 normal A105 + 5 radiant crystals.

Formula can easily be changed by MA.

Sorry is this real info or guess work? ty

Data is taken from Sarki by speaking with him and choose different options each time, this is what he asked for.

Total cost of hypercharged A105 is calculated.

quite interesting. there are alot of lower grade amps doing nothing but sitting in storage. i recall someone had a sales thread once where he had a dozen A104, dozens of A103s. i have probably a dozen A101-103, unused in years.

this will flush out those hordes, giving upgraded usful laser amps to rival the BLP stats.

with this formula, you would need to waste a lot of amps to get the maximum upgrade.

Question: Do the used amps return to the loot pool?

So this is basically eating up the low end amps that would normally be bought and used by newer players :scratch2:

Hopefully this will increase the drop rate otherwise we could end up in the situation we were a few years ago where an A101 was over 200ped but will this also mean that the other planets will be able increase the drop rate of their UL amps (if they have any) and provide the same functionality any time soon?

I don't think there's every been a shortage of A103s...

As for consuming higher-end amps, well depending on the number of more uses the upgraded amps have it may not result in a net change in availability because many heavy hunters have two for a full hunt. If they could consolidate the two into one and still have the same uses it's not really a change in market availability...

Update:

Angel Shadow Heart is the first colonist to discover Overcharged Omegaton A204! A record has been added to the Hall of Fame.
Angel Shadow Heart has found a rare item (Overcharged Omegaton A204) with a value of 91 PED! A record has been added to the Hall of Fame ALL TIME HIGH. Congratulations!

Excellent. Now I hope someone fills in Entropedia.info :)

Overcharged Omegaton A204:

20 Burn
6 Penetration

So an increase of 6.

242 ammo burn
Durability: Above Average -- Eco between 5.28 and 3.51. Not very helpful...

TT: 171 PED -- an increase of 101. Given that ammo burn more than doubled and TT almost doubled, this may very well last as long as two A204s.

"An overcharged version of the Omegaton A204 energy weapons amplifier. This version sacrifices some of the well known efficiency of the Omegaton A200 series in favor of increased energy output."

TT is actually 171 ped, increase of 101.

Yeah i just noticed that on entropedia and went back to check. Chalk it up to 2:30 AM blurryvision. :p

So this is more like 3 A204s in terms of uses, approximately. Nice.

BTW If we assume that decay stayed the same (ammo burn was increased to account for additional damage), we get an eco of 26/(3.31+2.42)=4.538 compared to 4.640 for A204. That's slightly less eco than all the A-series amps, but obviously still really good. Again this is just an assumption but seems a reasonably good one.

edit: oki :)

Eco Road:
Adjusted A105: 50 A100 Parts + 1 normal A105 + Radiant crystal
Improved A105: 90 A100 Parts + 1 adjusted A105 + 2 Radiant crystals

Damage Road:
Overcharged A105: 50 A100 Parts + 1 normal A105 + 2 Radiant crystals
Hypercharged A105: 2 overcharged A105 + 1 Radiant crystals

enjoy

At first it looks like a downgrade to me.

But if it has more DMG, then the amp does more % of the total weapon+amp damage on the same gun, so it is possible that in cases very close to ideal (amp doing 1/3 of the total dmg) the lower amp eco will not necessarily mean lower total eco.

Waiting for all detailed data.

A106 missing ? bug , MA did forget , or it is on purpose ? someone did send support case ?

Mm, I'm confused now. If this is correct :

Damage Road:
Overcharged A105: 50 A100 Parts + 1 normal A105 + 2 Radiant crystals
Hypercharged A105: 2 overcharged A105 + 1 Radiant crystals

Then

1 Hypercharged A105 = 2 x (Overcharged A105) + 1 Radiant crystal
= 2 x (50 A100 parts + 1 normal A105 + 2 Radiant crystals) + 1 Radiant crystal
= 100 A100 parts + 2 normal A105 + 4 Radiant crystals + 1 Radiant crystal
= 100 A100 parts + 2 normal A105 + 5 Radiant crystals

Which is exactly what Tepes wrote I believe.

So where do you see any mistake ? :scratch2:

Or they wanted to have many ppl doing upgrades, wich wouldnt have been the case if they have choosen a106 ( there arent that many ingame compared to a105)

If they would follow that thinking they would left out 204 also...
Best option was to do 105, 106 and 204 + BLP ;)

Including the already superiour blp amps would be utterly stupid.

Given a limited number of "parts", I guess this amp upgrade is best on the top amps.

(Not for me then, my biggest "oldschool" looted amp is A104.)

How exactly would reducing an already fixed and limited supply "make them more affordable" o_O?

have any A100 series amps started dropping again? ...nice charts though. You certainly took the time to analyse this latest clusterfuck properly :I

Personally, i'll just stick with the E-amp series till i go uber ...probably years from now. Eco doesn't really seem do anything for me at this point.

Could the owners of the new amps A105, A204 do a decay test to update Entropedia stats?

I think would be a great input for the community :)

Demonikos :tiphat:
