Question: Laser Handguns .. what to do?

Hi guys, I got another little question for you:

I'm following up the SIB chart (https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/weapons/165740-new-sib-charts.html) and as you can see there under Laser Pistol after the P3a comes the Korss H350 followed by H380 and then P4a.

Ok, I'm in this position, where I mastered the P3a but there are no H350 on AH and only few H380.
I could use the P3a till I can use the P4a at like 80% YES, but ... It will take me really a lot of time and like ... 30 P3a??

Now, I would like to hear some suggestions on how to go on, as I'm a bit lost atm. :)

30 P3a ? never

take some P3a and kill a lot small stuff, more kills = more skillbonus = skill nearly as fast as with bigger guns
 
Its not like you max one gun and you shoot with new one....

Keep shooting with breer3 and keep an eye on auction for ocassional 380 kk? :)

The problem is: I should use P3a till I MAX P4a ... and this is a pain :)

There is something true about his post :D

If i would like to follow the sib chart of looted laser guns i would be stuck with HL15 for 2 years :D

using riker ul2 i skilled up to isis lr 32 and further.. No need to go 100% with the ladder

Is there a way to know how many skills exactly I need to be able to use a maxed P4a?
Eaven if.... to chip in isn't really what I'm looking for, but a valuable alternative for sure.

Yes ther is ,if you use Chipping Optimizer you may easly sellect what lvl you want and it will provide sugestion on what 2 chip in.

Just keep skilling with what you can with 10/10 HA.
P3a+A102 will do nicely for most Faucervix you're likely to meet - try to loot your own H380s ;)

I was working on that for like 1 week, but ... the loot on fauc is soo lame
I lost a lot of peds and still didn't loot any.

I'm using A102 on P3a.

This Universe isn't quite like the others you may be used to. The progression of more powerful SIB weapons isn't designed so that once you "max" one, you should immediately move to another. There are intentional gaps, encouraging you to spend time with the weapon you are currently using before moving on.

As PW3CKA hinted at earlier, time spent on the bigger weapons increases. Maxing an HL15(L) @ lvl 49, you have a long time until you max the GeoTrek H30 Illum (L) at lvl 54. This is because each lvl is progressively harder/longer, and the curve gets steep quickly. Going from 1000 to 1500 skill points only requires ~3.31 ped TT of skills, but from 4900 to 5400 requires ~62.33 ped TT. And as skill difficulty increases, so do the profession levels, so you can imagine how wide the difference is.

Also, the Korss 350 and 380 do not drop, or loot, nearly as often as they used to. (Not sure the 350 even loots at all these days) This gives a shortage in the market, making folks either stay w/ the weapon they have (while they enjoy the maxed stats) or chip up to skip levels.

Keep in mind, that progression in this Universe is designed to take years, not months.

Actually they are insightful and color the character of gumption required to skill to higher levels.

And 90% of this forums posts fit in the basket of "useless" so I'm not quite sure what the issue is there ,lol.

H350 does seem extremely rare if available at all - H380 on the other hand is not really hard to get, though there may be times when none are on auction. Mobs that loot it have had fairly bad loot lately though, so supply might be dwindling.

If you just mastered P3a, then you are still level 10 laser pistoleer and it is far too early to go to H380. Wait level and a half or two levels.

Once you have H380 maxed, it will take only 2-3 full TT H380-s (plus decay on amp) to get to P4a maxed.
 
Just for info if anyone will have the same problem:
A little chip helped me out, and was 100% the more eco thing I could to :)

P4a+104 is the MOST eco way to hunt small to medium mobs ! :)

Works great with 100-200 HP mobs or even up to 400 .. depends on their regeneration

Yup!
I'm L44 Laser Pistoleer and I find it a very useful combo to have with me - as well as bigger guns/opalo/sword/etc.

A couple of Range enhancers once you unlock the Tiers are damn useful too!
