I've been playing around with the TT finder to get a feel for mining and have been trying to get LBML to work.

It seems to work, other than any mapping functions. The map window opens, but is blank. The microsecond I mouse over the window, it crashes citing an error regarding being unable to access some map.dll file. The file is right there in the directory I extracted to, was included with the download.

Anyone have any insight?

Post this on the mininglog Discord channel.

Ido the creator on Discord and Tony King ofaces are very helpful when problems come up so just put a message in general chat there either under LBML in entropiauniverse discord or directly to LBML discord. I been having a problem with new version claim timers lagging on me after a ton of drops and he been pumping out a couple test versions for me to try so he's definitely active now/still

I wish I liked Discord. I don't get it.

I'll try to find my way there. Thanks to both of you o7

I used to feel that way about Discord actually until most of the LBML troubleshooting moved over there. It makes it easy to reply and post screenshots (as well as search old threads).

As a first step, can you make sure you have Direct X downloaded on your computer? There's a link at the LBML website: http://www.mininglog.com/download.php

I'll do some digging on past cases early this week (just got back from the weekend) if that doesn't fix it for you.

Dxdiag says version 12.

Win 10, 64 bit.

I'll check with Ido on any other possibilities, but are you using the most recent version (LBMLv1.1.0.2)? The other thing to check is that the folder you have LBML in is whitelisted with your antivirus (a rare issue lately). The other is that LBML doesn't always do well with accessing files if it's in OneDrive (and possibly other cloud storage like DropBox), so I usually have people avoid that too.

At least in the notes I have, this is a rarer error that doesn't entirely been tracked down as to the cause. The one time I distinctly remember having this issue I re-downloaded the LBML zipped folder from the website just to start over and didn't have issues anymore, but that also means I couldn't replicate the issue either.

Once I'm home I'll have to check my LBML version, but it's whatever one was on the website a couple days ago.

I unzipped directly to a brand new folder (C:\LBML) to try and circumvent any silly Windows file magic.

Maybe my internet hiccuped or my processor and I have a bad checksum somewhere or something. It's got to be the function trying to get instructions from the data library, the data library itself, or the files that the data library is pointing to. I even tried putting fresh copies of the map data (from the website) into my folder. Thanks for your help, don't sweat it too much, I don't enjoy mining and I was hoping the log would make it feel a little better. Too much way point juggling in game for me to feel like I'm having fun, just to know where I dropped and what I found.

Yeah, for most it's to open it and go, but some computers take a bit of extra work.

One thing is you mentioned Dxdiag said version 12. See if downloading the version from the site helps initially just in case. This just helped someone else out who thought everything was up to date because they had version 12 as well, but found out something was out of date when they tried the install.
