originally this was posted over at https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/...-in-trade-within-entropia.282583/post-3768156 but moved it here and just linked from there since it seems more logical to do so...

This has been something going on since the beginning. Yes, it's not fair, and yes they do affect the economy in a lot of ways, but there's nothing you or I can do about it.

History lesson time...

Quote from Kim from way back:
-------------------------------------
Hello, these are some good questions and I will do my best to answer them.

1)

-Do you have to pay for your PED yourselves even though you can't withdraw it? Does it come out of your pay-cheque?No, we are given PEDs now and then, these PEDs come from estates and motherships etc that have been sold through the auction.

-Do you have a set 'allowance' per week/month/etc that is automatically deposited into the account based on what MA considers the average deposit?Yes its about 500 to 1000 PED per month.

-What happens when you run out of PED (if you do)? Do you grab a vse-mk1 and sweat to get the full 'eco' experience?I have never gathered sweat.

-Some mobs are more profitable than others (in terms of markup at least) and by working at Mindark, the staff surely know this. Do you hunt/mine/craft only things that would be 'smart', or do you 'play stupid' on purpose?Well all we know is when and which items are introduced but we never go after those items intentionally once they are released. In terms of markup and deciding what to hunt I often just use Entropedia, I like liver and pancreas oil

2)

Another part of 'The Entropian Experience' is grinding. It is not easy to reach the higher levels - and as the first and second quotes above show, at least Kim reached his levels the way the rest of us have had to.
What I'd like to know is if you routinely limit yourself (in terms of gear/skills/etc and maybe even knowledge) to get a peak into what the newer players might be experiencing (having to hunt sabakuma/punies for hours on end without armour or in something like pixie to just max the opalo).
-Do you also try and hunt above your level to experience what most mid-level players try to do?I can only speak for myself but I usually do all kinds of things such as grind my favourite mobs, iron challenges, pvp and mining. I don't do crafting though, never liked it. I play on my spare time because I enjoy it and I do what I feel like doing.

3)

Since as far as I know, your play avatars are on the production server, you must have to interact with other participants. Whether it be trading, teaming, hiring a service, etc - PED will probably change hands. Your actions will directly or indirectly influence the economy.
Are there any policies in place to make sure that MA staff do not place preference on certain avatars - allowing them to have an indirect edge or free ride (say paying 200 PED for a fapping service while the normal rate is 50 PED, etc).I don't think there are any specific rules but generally speaking we are to play as regular avatars. We are obviously prohibited from just giving cash to other avatars for them to cash out.. Thats embezzlement and its illegal.

-Also, say you loot an uber item (modfap, etc) and you don't plan on using it. Do you have to tt it? Do you have to toss it on auction? What if the item was looted in team - how would you go about splitting it?We play like regular avatars, its up to the employee in question to make that determination

What's your favourite mob? Would you rather have more stable loot or bigger hofs - with a lower return on every day activities? Do you intentionally try to do things the game doesn't intend (in order to find the bugs/exploits to squish them of course)? My favourite mob is probably the Gokibusagi, I really like the sounds it makes when I fill it with lead. I also like the Allophyl and the Pop Dragon.

And yes I do try to find bugs and exploits whenever I can.

Hope you were happy with the answers, cheers!

19. Once and for all who determines items that drop in RT/NI loot is it MA or NDS (For example if you wanted to add A-3 punisher MKII to drop from Forum trolls is it you guys or MA who would add this)
We determine which Mobs drop which items, that is essential for game design, we don’t control how or when, so we can’t predict when something will drop

Planetcalypsoforum thread about DA Manager using stall deeds to trade things in a secretive manner using deeds that should never have been traded
Internet Archive Link

============
In summary, YES, Mindark and Planet partners have official avatars, secret avatars, and undercover avatars. Yes, they do determine what loots when to a degree since they set up the loot tables for Mindark, and know which vu they will take place in. Yes, their 'partners' and employees do similar. Yes, some folks like who runs DME currently have had up to 5 or so avatars in the past, at least one of which worked as a mentor for someone through graduation. Yes, neverdie does global from time to time. Yes, Mindark claims it's all being watched closely but we all know how closely Mianrk watches everything and keeps it all safe from bugs and exploits. Yes, some avatars run by PPs get a 'ped salary' of over 1k per month and use it however the hell they want. It does affect the economy. Yes, Toulan/Monria devs have a mothership that runs free transport for those that started on their planet/moon so that ruins the mothership business for some other ship owners, etc. List goes on and on. Deal with it or don't. It's your choice if you want to deposit or quit now forevermore. Yes, it is possible DA Manager did something he shouldn't have and got reprimanded for it, but only because the community pointed it out. There's probably a lot of similar things going on the community has not found out about yet, and may never...

Yes, if mods want to delete this, go ahead... I suspect you will lock the thread at the least since you don't want the truth to be seen by all sometimes.... or so it seems from time to time. Many of the links above are links to forum threads on this forum. Others are to community run websites.... most of this stuff is stuff others revealed to the community. I just collected the links to put the puzzle pieces together like others do from time to time. You can't make this stuff up even if you tried...

In my experience training pets (top end pets to well over level 50+), some cost does come back via lootable methods although I'm unsure of the exact amount. That could be TT of bars or maybe more. So it's not a total loss. Although like always in EU things change overnight and what might work yesterday doesn't work tomorrow.

There have been a few times that I trained pets to quite high levels and did no hunting in-between those training events and was rewarded with a decent sized high global/hof when I started hunting again.

Some might that's all bollocks, I'm wearing a tin foil hat.....but that's how it appeared to me.

Part of reason for training pets to high levels, was that MA promised a massive new system for pets, but recently stated (in the Q&A) that their plans for pets were on-hold for the foreseeable future. So another golden rule in EU, is don't plan on what' might be in game only concentrate on what "is" in the game.

With that in mind, all my pets are now stored, and I have no intention of using them ever again (unless things change). That said if you did want to consider hunting or mining with a pet spawned, then you've got extra cost being burned on the fly and it 'could' aid in the size of returned loots or maybe even hofs. I played around with auto loot peds, and have some quite interesting data on it.

Some people posting hofs with pink bunnies spawned also made me smile. What's going on?...hahaha.

That is of course speculation, I tried to pin down how pets effect loot, but of course no-one has the actual loot algorithum to actually prove anything. So believe what you want to believe when you try it out yourself.

You wont see any massive difference though until you get the pet to decent high levels. I often wondered how a level 80 pink rabbit would perform loot wise, with it spawned while hunting.

Buy a damn ring they're cheap enough these days.

Pets that certainly do have value in my opinion, are 20% taming skill gain pets if skilling taming skills.
Especially gaining zoology that helps a ton with looter skill. so getting 20% free so to speak is good value.

Good luck

Rick

=======================
They kind of reverse spike... During events with mobs that drop a particular loot, that particular loot tanks in value. A few months later it returns to normal levels. Not all oils are created equal. Kidney oil is normally 102-104% but during an event like this it's TT food (or saving for future markup if you're smart).

It's so predictable you could literally build a small reseller business that hunters would love you for.

During Mayhem events, buy shrapnel for 100.3% since shrapnel is the vast majority of loot, and many hunters end up producing far more than they can consume so the extra 0.3% is appreciated.

During seasonal events like Migration, trade Shrapnel for Kidney oil, TT for TT. The hunter will be happy because they are getting 101% from conversion rate in trade for shit they'd normally be TTing.

During Mayhem events, sell the oil and re-purchase shrapnel. Repeat.

Profit margins are tiny, but turnover potential is very high and business is consistent.

Always something new on NI! Whether you are on the beach below Crystal Peak or by the statue at Paradise Landing you can heal up rapidly, 9.2-9.4 every couple of seconds, for free. That means you DO NOT have to use a FAP, which saves you PED.

Whenever one of my customers asks me to recommend the next armor set after Ghost I usually say (I always ask them what they are trying to hunt first), go with limited Martial, you can't go wrong for the price it currently costs (most parts being less than 110% on auction these days).

100% of the time they are very happy they followed my advice. Martial is quite a nice jump from Ghost and opens up a whole set of new mobs never before available, like for example Prim Longu, higher maturities of Atrox, Hogglo, Aurlis (with serpent scales), not to mention it's great for Longtooths during migration.

To me, Martial (+5B) is the most natural progression after a hunter has outgrown Ghost+5B. You get to hunt bigger mobs with it, and you don't really lose ability to hunt any mobs either (not a trade-off). Of course if you wanted to go back to Feffoids, you'd need cold plates, but just keep your Ghost if you think you might need to go back to smaller mobs with special damage (like cold or electric).

Yes, that works quite well in many instances. For example Jaguar (L) and Tiger (L) mix very well together, the only sad thing about that combo is that in both cases, the thighs (M,L) can be very difficult to find at times.

For bots, you can mix Hermes (L) and Eon (L) parts. For Cut/Stab you can mix Vain (L), Chronicle (L) and Spartacus (L) armor parts. For high Impact mobs, you could mix Sentinel (L), Rutuba (L), Supremacy (L) and Shadow (L).

Pro tip: Angel (L) and Sparta (L) mix very well together for Impact, Cut and Stab mobs.

Adjusted Nemesis is getting very expensive now but is still one of (maybe even the best) Unlimited armor of choice after Ghost, depending on what kinds of mobs you like to hunt (i.e. if you never hunt bots and don't plan on ever hunting them, then it's wouldn't be a good option for you).

However with Generic Nanos now hovering at around 320% to 340%, upgrading it yourself could end up costing you more than if you were to just buy a set that was already Adjusted.

For an Adjusted set, be prepared to pay north of +2300 for male. If you get a set of regular Nemesis for say +950 and you pay say 340% for the nanos to upgrade it, you might save a hundred ped, but your set will just be tier 0.00 and you have no control over the TIR numbers, which could end up being bad, in which case you'd regret doing it. I think it's wiser to just buy a set that's already adjusted if that's what you decide to get, even if it were to cost you around tt+2350.

An Adjusted Restoration chip is of course a very good plan, can't go wrong with that. But if your budget doesn't allow one right now, there's nothing wrong with using limited armor parts at <110% from auction for a while so you can keep progressing as a hunter.

Right now is a good time to offload 5B plates if the extra 600 ped could be of some use to you. Serpent Scale is likely to end up being just as good for you as it provides that Acid protection which you are not likely to find in decent amount on any of the armor options you are considering right now. I can't imagin Serpent Scales going much lower than +6 so I really don't think it would be a mistake to secure a set for yourself.

There is also another good armor option which hasn't been mentionned yet: Eon (L)

A few years ago, Eon (L) was very problematic because not all parts were available. It seemed like the Harness, the gloves, the foot and the shins were just not dropping anymore, and so these parts, whenever they appeared on the auction, were very expensive.

Nowadays, all of the Eon (L) parts are dropping again and the mu for them has come down to between ~106% and 115%, which is an amazing deal if you ask me. 22 Impact, 28 Cut and 28 Stab, which is pretty awesome actually. Yes the Impact on the Eon (L) is lower than the Impact on the Martial (L), but the 28 Cut and 28 Stab more than makes up for it. Not to mention, Eon (L) is one of the best armors you can get for hunting bots with 45 Burn and 52 Penetration. So don't overlook that one.

Cheers,
Legends

That idea tanked, but more than likely another one may come now that Mindark has confirmed that gambling is allowed if Planet Partner is who is in charge... Looking forward to the second planet in the cyrene twin dual planet orbit being nothing but a series of casinos or something similar... Hell, Neverdie ought to just change the thing to a casino since he has more know how in what he's doing... it'd fit rocktropia lifestyle more imho. Crypto gambling with ped. Law makers are gonna love that idea.

Curious why full fledged planets can allow it but moon owners cannot. Really blurry slippery slope since now the same party that owns Monria owns Toulan...

Ok you want to skill up in this universe and you don't really like [L] weapons? You also don't want to fork out more than 1500 ped for a weapon when you are a midlevel hunter? Then this is your thread.
Note that some weapons can be amped with Trauma I, IV and VI amps which are also cheap to buy.

@ aloysius yes
a melee itm can hold 3x attachments (Trauma amp, m matrix (leech) and extender)
a range item can hold 5x attachments (1 scope 2 sights 1 amplifier and 1 extender)

the use of MMatrix is simply life steal and defense enhancement so...
it can be considered like an extra buff ring.
if i look to a left hand ring that gives 5% Lifesteal and defense buff, Xmas 19 is the perfect example
and once it was 30.000 maybe now a bit less for new ones that have arrived but still a great defense one
compared to that,. a MMatrix at 20 25 ped require 1000+ amps decay to reach same PEDs.

Wiki reports 51.063 uses so on a standard Armatrix knife they last 51.063 / 76 = 671 minutes
at 15% reload it is 671 / 1.15 = 584 Minutes of non stop swing ( 9 hours 45 minutes)
for a mace and a sword it can be double time

so 9000 hours of swing to be worth like a xmas 2019 ring (and you get bonus eff)

price is low IMHO just because
melee users are few and they already rely on restoration chips and leech rings
and use the MMatrix just killing bigger monster that need extra selfsustaining.

There we go :) This topic comes up 2-3 times a year but it never leads to anything. No one clearly knows what they do beyond theories. I guess only one fact can be agreed upon, they very slightly increase skillgain due to the added decay.

What I personally think is they increase aim skill for that %, increasing you hit profession and making you do "MISS" less, but only on unmaxed weapons. And skill bonus adds to the SIB but also only on unmaxed weapons.

Yes, you can add second sight, it goes onto the scope.

I made this map for a complete list of mobs and locations of each mob.

It's missing all the boss mobs and might have some typos etc. Please let me know and I'll update the map.

Enjoy!

CLICKING ON THE IMAGE BELOW SHOULD BLOW UP THE IMAGE SO IT'S A BIT MORE READABLE. There's info for all of this elsewhere in forums but just put it all together in the image so it's all in one place. As things change over time it will of course be outdated info probably, lol.

This info is also in signs in Alpha West, Floor 11, Apartment F) in game as well - both this image and inidividual images breaking it down with a couple of domes per image too.

Edit:
Only the Toulan egg got sold, this was a website error according to Socrates on discord. The site now shows the Toulan egg as sold but the others as "coming soon".

So the Toulan egg is gone

---------------------------------------------------------Original post Below--------------------------------------------------------

That's all the eggs sold without a single announcement, so many fuckups...

GJ everyone!
