MA has had VU10 since 2007!

Hey all.
Was just watching a video on youtube and noticed something strange. The video is a recording of a program called 'Rise of the Video Game' shown on the discovery channel and was recorded in 2007. At the 5 minute mark through the video, a quick shot of a guy in orange running around clearly shows VU10! Heres a link to the video:

It would not surprise me that they were working on the transition back then.
 
but look at the guy he looks like a older version thats not from vu 10
 
Looks like the old graphics to me. But you know, the trailer for PE back in the old days looked better than the game itself, so who knows :).

You make some good points in the screenshot though.
 
It doesn't look like VU 10 to me... just an avatar in an orange jumper running through CND.
 
This picture is from 2007, and i have several other pics from 2007 showing the exact same hud, and furthermore it's not the HUD used in CE2 it's the one we had up to CE2.

Good point. I find it hard to remeber the old VU. It seems as though it was soooo long ago.
 
Wouldnt surprise me, but we had this "life bar ped thing" design ingame in 2006 already, so its not really a VU10 lifebar ped thing :

Not VU 10. You can see that it is the old chat window. AFAIK, all the icons are the same as pre VU 10 too...
 
In my opinion that somewhere in the end of VU 8 , since i joined EU at around that time , and that video was the reason i gave it a shot .... but i could be wrong ofc .
 
Definitely NOT VU10. The avatar doesn't move as fluidly as they do now, and the chat window is NOT resizeable. Nice try though... thanks for playing... :)

It took them 2 years to add all the bugs :laugh:
 
Right away I notice that the text input area of the chat interface has that angled right side to it... a feature missing in VU10.

Clearly this is a Pre-10 image. Details... Details...
 
No the radar used to look like that before aswell. check other screenshots from 2007
 
OMG That is clearly not a shot from VU10 its the old movements and rendering.

sorry to say but you are wrong there.
 
If u watch other episodes of the program u will see they use old graphics from at least 2 years back............:cool:
 
Of course they have had a sandbox since 2007. First aim was mid 2008 for VU10. It just gone a bit late....

But pictures you show isn't VU10 ;)
 
we always had same loot window to health bars etc have nothing to do with graphics and engine .

"loot window" - probably (at least i don't remember other versions).
"health bars etc" - not at all. It was changed at least 3 times before VU 10.x.

And about video.
It was maded after UI was changed (end of 2006, don't remember exactly date).
But before 2007.10.09 (avatar update VU). Just look at orange jumping suit :)
