Suggestion: Make this game cross-platform both cryengine and unreal

Oh now you done it!

When they switched to Cryengine they let people use the old engine for a while. Which from what I've heard they will do the same with the switch to Unreal 5.

My computer has insufficient system for Unreal. So please dont remove cryengine.
Your computer should theoretically be able to run this game better in unreal engine actually. Believe it or not, games in unreal engine ALSO have graphics sliders.

And if mindarks employees have any skill at all, they should easily be able to make it more optimized and running better than it currently does.

Like for example my game runs better when all setting are maxed out then at medium. Idk why, but there’s one setting that when set on medium my computer just isn’t happy with it.

This shouldn’t be an issue anymore.

But the fact that they will be maintaining both engines for even a bit this go around is very concerning.

Dell Inspiron 5559 can run UE5?

Unless anybody is able to say with good knowledge that stuff on UE5 can run on between 1 and 2 GB of RAM, and is likely to do so with EU too, then I just don't believe that my Win10 4GB will handle UE5!
With the RAM leaks in space recently I was crashing once EU got to about 2 GB. Most of the time it sits at about 1 GB - and can go as low as just 200MB or so if I'm crafting in the background whilst doing something else.
I'm happy they are saying access without UE5 will continue ...

Drop $200 at Best Buy and get a computer that isn’t dogshit. If you can afford to spend money in Entropia, you can afford a PC that wasn’t made when dial-up was still relevant. Games shouldn’t have to slow down for people stuck in the past.

This is ridiculous—CryEngine is over a decade old. If you haven’t upgraded from that, then maybe modern gaming isn’t for you.

What’s next? Should we still be asking 'Can it run Crysis 1?' just to make sure no one gets left behind?

What kind of world am I living in where a 2GB application is too much to handle?

I swear, it feels like I’m in backwards town.

It's 2025 people. 32 gb is as available as a $2 hooker was in your time.

So far we don't know what minimum will be, most people looking at minimum for UE dev specs, which isn't the same.
In november Win10 will also be discontinued when it comes to updates and so on, so we need PCs that can run Win11.
Another thing that we (hopefully) must have is dx12.

The first sentence is false. I remember where my avatar was when the VU 9 servers went down. There was a point of interest named Spiral Mountain, and I went there for the server countdown cause Banjo-Kazooie. The servers never came back.

Exactly, phones have more ram than that. Even Apple phones.

It's insane the value of even the shittiest of laptops and what they can run on low settings. Intel and AMDs integrated graphics alone are as good as a gtx 1650 at this point, which although old. Was perfectly fine for 1080p gaming at medium settings and still is.

8gb of ram is in $100 chromebooks for fucks sake.

As written in every other thread about this topic:
  • UE is said to go easier on hardware
  • wait until we have the UE-client and only then go buy some new hardware (on the lower end)
  • if you buy new hardware now, it's outdated once the upgrade is happening, so don't do that (or at least know what you're doing)
We'll all be fine. No worries.

Well in my nation prices are expensive for computers and for now i swunt caraboks. Each month i donate 2 $ to game. I know its not big number. Im happy with my game playing style.
