WTF MA/FPC????

You reported in release..


In order to align the Mind Essence consumption with the system changes, the following changes have been made:

* The Mind Essence value has been divided by 100: where you got 100 Mind Essence per PED before, you now get 10,000.
* Mind Essence usage is multiplied by 100: if your Mind Essence was 7 before, it is 700 now
* Everyone’s amount of Mind Essence has been multiplied by 100: if you had 940 Mind Essences before, you now have 94,000.

THIS IS A LIE and a HUGE NERF!!!!!! Since why should I have to pay 8 times MORE for something? This is like making my weapon use 8 times more ammo?

There are several chips I guess that have changed. I'd like to get a list going here. To start:
Potent Focus chip was 1 ME is now 800!!!!! Thats 8X the amount!!!!!!!!

THIS IS TOTAL AND UN-ACCEPTABLE BULLSHIT MA/FPC!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps you should play the game for 5 minutes and actually learn and understand what the changes are before turning on the sirens.

????? I understand that it cost me 1 ME to use my potent focus chip before and now it uses 800? What don't I understand that that's an 800 X increase???? Maybe you should take a math class?????????????

Yeah, how many drugs did you mix in that last vodka appletini. Your potent chip didn't protect you for 10minutes at a time. Strangely enough, some things are different now than they were a year ago, and it's already been posted on the forums 90 bollillion times.

I'm betting you didn't measure what the difference in decay between synch XIV and potent focus , I also reckon you ignored the fact you don't pay markup for that mind essence, I also know for a fact you ignored you pay less than half the decay on Psion implants, but that's not important at all, apparently

So the usage has been increase by 100 but the ammo is also increased by 100. Just like ammo .Try to read first before stating something. So the value of 1 me previous is the same as 100 ME now.

There is no nerf. Actually the whole system is even better then before with the TT ME.

Yes they were referring to the mind essence that has been converted now being treated as ammo was when the tier system was introduced. Chips being converted was a different issue entirely

THe new Mindforce system is the most awesome thing that has happened in my 2.5 years playing

I think overall it's gonna rock - still not happy something costing me 8x more than it did before no matter what the changes to it are.

Like I said in post to other person.. guess one person's nerf is another person's feature... I still feel bent over by MA once again :(

Exactly - there is no nerf for that chip. Yes, the converted chip now costs more to use, but the effect lasts FAR longer. Rather then focus charges, you now have a duration per use. The only way in which it could be considered a nerf would be if you were only using the chip to skill by giving charges to random avatars in town.
 
Focus chip is buged. There are ppl at neas buffing sweaters and sweaters still get interrupted.
I tryed to use combustive strike in midle of merps ( focused- synchronised) and no way to charge - interrupted all time.

And about balance-
First gen chips were balanced and droped a lot before MA did mob double hp and regen nerf.
To balance them - all chips shud get double damage, heal or other effect or half ammo usage instsead to nerf them more.

Whether it's a nerf or not isn't important. MA said it'd be x100 not x800.
Everything else is symantics, nerf, time, decay, whatever... symantics.

The point is that MA sux at communication (among other things).
Any other business would have gone belly up by now due to pathetic management, but MA is lucky that their virtual casino is addictive and much like crack customer service isn't important to addicts.
 
yes that would be because the ability of the chip has changed too, so they needed to adjust the me usage accordinly.

Come on we all know ma dont hand us all info on a golden platter, they leave it for us to find out ourselves

Did the decay change on the chip? It changed on implants, as far as I know.
 
Becareful how you promote this ten minute thing as being a benefit.
This is EXTREMELY close to what are called "Buffs" in other games.

If MA decides to start making things work like buffs the majaroty of the community is gonna take it iis the ass for having to use them I promise you.

how can you say "no matter what the changes are" if you havent fully evaluated the change? its easy to over react (especially after a few beers :D) but if you havnt check and calculated the decay costs, then the changes might be no change in net cost (or even cheaper).

as bad as MA is at communication, often we are crap at reading comprehension. The details MA have given are on the change to ME, nothing more or less. there's nothing specific about the changes to Focus chips or other changes. they never do give precise information on decay.

Thank goodness Dan also noticed it and im not alone on this :D. I made a thread about it "Buffs but no puff...?" I noticed that the synch chips dnt work @ while buffing peeps @ camp. They only work on on 1 Strike chip as far as I cud see it needed to charge up. Agree on the 2nd comment :D more dps and healing dps pls ;).
 
Tested my potent focus chip too today after a test from some random nice person who gave me the "buff" last night and was still the same my sweating got interrupted.
So these chips are more or less useless now?

And as far as I can remember the focus chips still use ME and not the new TT kind(maybe my memory fails me, if so dont be too angry at me :ahh:)

And for people who say 10min are better then xx hits, what if I like to solo sweat while walking for fruits/stone between mobs that way the "buff" gets used up alot "faster" then the former hit based version. (or am I a "free loader*" for gathering my own sweat and perhaps sell some between my deposits?)

That is if MA fix so it works with sweating as they REALLY should do, all who agree send support mails

If yer sendin supports send ones for the Electric chip IV that decays over 50% its total tt value in a 120 ped hunt.

I tried healing at neas today and the new system is totally fucking useless the way it is set with such short distance. So add the heal chip nerf that shortend the distance for healing to less then the distance I can piss standing up.

Have they even tried this shit out for functionality or just crunched numbers to see what gets them the most money back without starting riots?

Luckily, you don't have to pay markup with the new Synthetic Mind Essence. And the ME market falls even more! :D

2) How do you know what I have / haven't evaluated? 1X 100 does NOT = 800 - that's what I was posting about not the benefits, changes, but what I consider a nerf.. It's fine that you and others don't look at it that way but I do... hmm if I 'evaluate'...I could get hit many more times in 10 minutes for less ME than I can now for 8x more the cost....
3) Will repeat - I'm upset and still mad that MA posts one thing - 1X 100 for chips and then we all find out that's NOT the case! Sure people have 'figured' out what has 'actually' happened... MA didn't say 1X100 for these kind of chips and variations to others... yep, they suck at communication. If they would have posted the changes and why in the first place I would have still felt bent over but at least they would have been upfront about it all. That upsets me just as much.

Please, if you reply, I'm not trying to argue although I'm still mad as hell at MA /FPC. The source of being bad is I feel they have lied / mis-led and well, I like the word nerf (insert what you want there) with their statement. It's simply not true! Stay focused on that one simple thing..

(I don't care about net changes, costs, etc.. I understand where those people are coming from and their points are very valid... my overall point is that I think MA lied with their release notes...simple as that. )

Oh well, just seems like in a try to explain how value of ME has been changed they wanted to give some examples to be as thorough as possible, mentioned "Mind Essence usage is multiplied by 100: if your Mind Essence was 7 before, it is 700 now" but simply forgot they had changed the stats of some chips to align with their new powers. Case of human error I guess, really nothing to get this upset about imo.

Just a bit ironic when they try to be extra methodical in their explanations, their lack of it surely has been pointed out to them before, it screws up this way instead.

Trying to hunt right now. Chip TT is abot 170 peds if i remember- even if it dont decay at all does not justify double amount of ammo.
Damage MA didnt change - is same as was balanced years back before all nerfs like mobs double hp and faster regeneration, before L guns and so on.
Without testing i still think decay is about same and if exist difference that one is probably small.
I used to hunt with 300 or 350 peds TT worth ammo but ME now i need to cary tt ME for 600 peds for same hunting round. Chip do not decay to end after burning 600 peds ammo but more ammo u cant take - to much weight.
And that add to weight. Depend what you hunt - if you cant refine loot crap is not hunt any more but slow walk or T to first outpost what make hunting much shorter , usage of tp chip greater and so on.

*Chip TT is 218 peds and it decay now 5 pec per shoot.

because ME has changed x100. your example of a focus chip has changed *seperately* to this change.

(I don't care about net changes, costs, etc...

but surely thats all that matters? if the decay of your focus replacment chip has reduced by 8, then the fact it uses 8x more markup free ME than before is acedemic, no? this is quite important, because otherwise we might end up focused on the wrong issues, our attention diverted from real problems.
