"Dynamic and interactive" Straight comedy
  • Player Loyalty: 60% of players play for more than five years.
It is staggering that they chose to reveal 40% of players quit within 5 years as a testament to player loyalty. Game is running for 22 years :cheer: But also, new players quit within 5

All the numbers are sounding great but is this really a number to brag about? Worryingly low id say.

I don't think that's what they mean. I think what they mean is 60% of players have been playing for over 5 years. 40% of players currently engaged have been playing for under 5 years. This doesn't really give any insight into people leaving or not.

Sure, if they add "have been playing" it would certainly change the whole meaning, unfortunately that's not how it's written lol.
60% of players play for more than five years = 40% don't play for more than five years
60% of players have been playing for more than five years is a totally different statement

Yeah they used too few words trying to keep the points short and sweet and I'm almost sure it's a translation too.
I really don't think they would make a public statement that intends on telling everyone 40% of people quit by year 5.

Roll up, roll up. Find more BS in that announcement. Plenty more to find.
I think I'll just note for now that space is measured in square kilometres and leave harder stuff for others to have fun with :p

Innovation, hunt, mine and craft something that has no MU. 👍

I will still tell the new guys who show up to expect same as we all do. Nothing* 🙌

Some could say they are trying sure points for "that".

I just dont see sugar coating doing any good.

New guy come in depo, see the game, exit and rant somewhere.

Lets thrown in another sucker 🤝

Lets not forget hanging around = loyalty

Yep, that's one of the stat-crunching results :). More to find folks, but that is almost my favourite ...

Honestly, if 60% of signed up accounts are still playing after 5 years, then that’s massive.

Hell with a free to get startet game like this - If 10% are still active after the first year, then it’s just a matter of marketing from that point on - Put some money into that marketing 😊

I have no problems with Space being flat.

(I do have a problem with Space being PvP, and I do have a problem with Space missions not being implemented within 12 years after announcement while player paid funds are withheld for those.)

That would be a historically high number for an mmorpg. As it’s generally closer to 3-6% of players continue playing and mmo for that long.

If we got 1,000,000 new players to try the game out come ue5, and even 1% stayed for 5 years and deposited, that would be 10,000 more concurrent players. Which I believe would double what the game currently has.

I think it’s just a straight up lie or translation issue

I would like to thank the Entropia player community for making all of these metrics possible!

230 or thereabouts accounts being online 24/7.
Or, 4000+ accounts being played 500 hours a year (average 1 to 2 hours per day).
To put the 2m hours into perspective. Old School RuneScape does that generally every 2 or 3 days.

-Done by people averaging out concurrent players at any given time ranging from 150-250k at any one time.

For entropia the hours look even worse since unlike OSRS, you can be productive while being completely away from keyboard and asleep, without breaking ToS, by crafting.

Which if everyone only played 1 hour a day, that would be about 5400 active players. Which is about what people generally guess when looking at entropia life.

As I see it, criticism is lively and easy; in my case it's called 'spitting in the soup'.
whereas in this game, there are players who try to support it, to help newcomers, to create events; to participate dynamically and positively; where others, have only drool and venom.

IF you are talking about people spesific to this thread.

Clearly you dont know the people you are refering to.

Many here have supported the game quite a long time, provided and helped the community in form of both invaluable information, PED and visibility.

I'd say people have right to voice their opinions.

Same as you too. 👍

Edit: We are all bagholders what's inside might vary tho.

Yeah it might sometimes appear we are overly critical or pessimistic, but for people like me for example, it comes from a place of love.
Been here since 2010 and honestly the game was terrible back then but still fell in love with it. We have literally 100x more content now than we did back then.

I think much of the criticism comes from frustration. We all know entropia COULD be the best game in the world.
Open solar system, single shard, real cash economy, tangible assets you can buy, sell and loot. An almost endless list of things to keep you busy for 10,000 hours (as a start) what's not to love??

Yeah we are sometimes heavy on the doom and gloom but MA doesn't help the situation with being heavy on the silence and for one, keeping us hanging with unreal 5, please, we just want some crumbs! Theres a real sense of FUD and with the entire community being left hanging if UE5 even exists or not.
