MindArk Announces Innovative AI Integration Strategy to Transform Virtual World Development

Meh....

I don't know how this compares to other studios but I don't think EU needs much groundbreaking or visionary stuff. The concept will always stay the same as long as it is an RCE. We will put money in, some money will come back out.

In my opinion, what we need is creative ways for us players to spend our money. We would also need a smaller universe or a much larger player base. I want opportunities for every day to be like when Socrates decides to spawn a husk and put in some fancy loot since this feels like the most common place to interact with other players with the exception for within the society.

I also think we need to find a way to reward people who are persistent and ready to work for a lower wage than children in china. Sweating is dull but it is always fun to hear from people who actually haven't lost money in EU.

There is nothing "groundbreaking" and "visionary" about using AI as a tool for development since it's available now and business logic dictates that if you don't, the competition will pull ahead of you. While evolution of these things has accelerated to frantic pace and honestly I'm no longer able to keep up with all the latest, been "prompt engineering" and "vibe coding" for a while already and also enjoy using it for reviving old skills in a dozen programming languages I had touched at some time but would struggle to get right today if doing it the traditional way by hand and reading manuals. So, the above is just bloated corporate jargon designed to make it sound like the greatest sensation, which it really isn't. Besides, the entire text of this press release fits the mold of having been created by AI (cf. response under the given link to EP). Or maybe it's the other way around, AI having been trained on this kind of stuff just acknowledging it.

  1. Is this an equally insane awesomerity as the AI NPCs?
  2. Is there more or less invisible vegetation?
  3. Does this version allow to mute the pets?

literally every dev i know 100% integrates ai into their workflow

100%, not the majority. all of them.

this is not news lmao

"conductors of code" imagine being called that
