Mining sucks...

i am mining unamped to add some skills
if i consider decay in sales (or self craft) out with MU i am over cost, fractions, but free skill points.
this is a game, not a business, being self sustainable is already a goal.

you can be a loser hunter if you dont have the proper markup in your loots.

Problem many as you dont see beyond this and all they do is bringing excuses and believing people who failed. For instance on youtube comments is full of players who played a bit the game at low/mid level who never invested in gear or who never played for markup ever and failed.
They told me 2007-2009 my avatar was lucky thats why i was playing without depo, i told them "hunt better mobs stop going for atrox or proteron because you see daily 3x20000 peds on atrox"(were different times but the idea is same they had no markup lol).
 
i developed an index that i call ESR (entropia survival rate)

simply on escel ((total return)/(kill cost))/100 to have a percaentage value
total return is TT return * weighted average MU
kill cost is totalc ost to kill (armor decay, ammo, weapon decay, healing cost with relative MUs if using (L) gears
if this number is positive, even with 0.01% i can hunt that monster untiol the end of my life... free skills
if it is negative, not even the biggest HOF can save me, hof and global are rarely gain (must hit a global jackpot) most of the times are just rebalancing to converge to 98% return
 
like many people who play I have an irl life, I can't spend my life on entropia investing thousands of euros in equipment hoping not to lose too much money at the end of each session. I know a few players with very good equipment in the end the outcome and the same. a lot stops and the new ones don't stay. You probably have to ask some questions, right?
Who understand that this game is a gear/skill base game and for a so called win you need to improve your Avatar/Gear will not have to cry.
For who want to win out of nothing....I am very sorry.
I did play bad but also good.
I dont have in plan to go back when I did play very bad.
Nobody is forcing you to play at a specific level.
But when you want to win big....then you expect to loose big.

You want to play for 1 ped? Is also ok, you dont need high investment to be efficient.
You want to play for 5 ped? Think that you need to invest a little bit
You want to play for 10? That need to open your wallet bro.
 
My best friend told me once in 2020 when I returned into game after 2009- that mining is fair. Like your skills and equipment do matter- it did,
I do use my finder 06, which I bought in 2005 I think, till this very day. few weeks ago I reach prospector 50.- For me surreal achievement, because I'm not full time miner. From 25 in 20020 prospector to 50 in 2025.
Yes, mining changed a lot now especially after- in my opinion worst ever event by MindArk- resource mayhem. Then it was pure lottery just like hunting, mu drop so fast and then we have mining in space, which means shoot rocks in space and loot same stuff you can just dig up. Sad. but ,y opinion here is irrelevant.
I don't even consider i will ever hit a tower, come one unamped- never.
I liked mining, when you need to think and calculated where to go and what to dig up to do stuff, just like many players I know, I used mining stuff to crafting stuff and if my finder will find what i need.
After new ul all changed- i still hate it, worse ul ever. I don't botter anymore to write to support that my finder can find on depth from 200 to 1110 unamped, or with depth enhancers, that range is surreal strange. I just don't play, when I see bug I just shout down Entropia. And don't play.
like few before write here support don't exist here anymore.
And believe me sometimes nothing matter- your skills, knowledge, equipment and even your ped card.
I hope we will know who the gold rush winners are and Alexis Sky Greenstar will say- mining don't suck.

Yea after the Steam release and players can still drop a probe and miss, move a single meter and try again and get a hit... Same buggy bloody game...

Drop probe, roll dice, no skill here..... This "project" had such potential... Then it became Entropia Universe.....
I once had a student who would say "Can you help me out, I'm not sure how to solve this problem."

I then showed them how to solve the problem and they said "You didn't do it correctly."

I did in fact do it correctly.

I want this to sink in.

Probly this... but mining is great as in the mechanics for it etc. Its just that the markup being ruined by mindarks lack of resource sinks that makes the experience suck nowadays .. when the hell are they going to make some sinks and fix crafting, we been waiting forever!!!
 
IMO mining used to be "always" good because almost everything had some MU, so even if you got bad result you could get 106% on this and 112% on that to eek out TT even or close. Now only few certain things have decent MU rest has nothing. There is still opportunity but it always seemed like the "flashyness" of hunting that mining didn't give was balanced by the stability mining would provide.
Loot 2.0 IMO killed mining and some reason the bottom fell, hofs are small, globals are super hard to get. I dunno just my 2 pecs

Mining was great and fun when you could mine pvp and get literally 5 common-semi common mats worth 200% with some 130%ers and 110%s as filler but now only 1 mat that's somewhat easily obtainable @ 200% is left in whole game.. same with every other area but on a lesser MU scale. All because of..
 
The main issue is that there is not enough money coming in to fill the mining pool constantly, so it goes dry, and when it goes dry you should press alt-f4 but dont.

But then again , the more you miss, the more skills get, the more skills you get the more you have to spend for the new tools... And the cycle continues.

You make things way more complicated than they really are.

Mining is just spawn points of ore/en, the same way there are spawns of mobs, but they are not visible. They have a respawn rate, just like mobs. The respawn rate is variable, and for rarer resources is much slower. This is why areas are impacted by recent activity. That's the only hysteresis. I assure you there's no "memory", no spiral theory, no AI behavioral analysis, or whatever overly-complicated function you've concocted to describe the behavior. If you could see the map in development you'd see a bunch of circles peppering the landscape where the spawns are. That's it. That's all there is to it.
