Mining sucks...

After 24-25 years of mining (started with Leeloo Mountain) I have seen the changes

It was a lot easier back then to make profit, even when you used amps.

But if more people understand how the system works, and more do withdraws ... some 1 has to pay for it and those are the loosing players.

I used to make 25 ped profit / day easy back then and also before space mining started, all with F and MD series without amps, pills, peds, .... (not even counting my ATH)

As long as it works I keep doing it.

And for cycling more ... why would I keep filling my inventory if the economy is completely broke and sell with losses ...

I know many miners that mine like this now , they used to keep cycling and use amps ... but not anymore and they are making profit also again.
Correct I would say that knowledge is power, but if what I have is correct, I need to see what would happen when an avatar of a higher level uses what I have.

What I see almost every time I mine is a major drop off in resource nodes. The math is incredibly simple.. Yes this does use a "spiral" but the concept is sound.

Lets start with a server with 100% concentration. It would have (8192/2/54)^(1/2) nodes. (5754 rounded up). Using a little bit of magic, for each miss, reduce the amount of nodes by half, for each hit increase it by half, ie binary search, until you have the correct concentration. What tends to happen is the area starts off good at 100% conc and immediately drops off to 50 then 25 then 12, you get the point..

The only times this has not happened is when the area was full of resources.

However seeing as this concept involves depth / layering, I can only check the surface layer with my tools / bankroll. There is also a UI / tooltip issue which Leeloo brought up EIGHT YEARS ago which still had not been fixed ingame.

Let's see, over the years I kept improving my data, and yes, it's very simple but effective AND I can compare.

Make calculations for a stock (like 1% of any resource amount that sells / month to start), mine and sell @ a decend % that you should break even or have some profit. Keep in mind that every zone/server is different.

Try different finders so you know where to get what you need with a specific finder.

If you reached the amount you want as stock, stop mining untill it sells in small stacks.

Needles to say I do not need to mine fillers :p

It's that easy

The negative : standing @ auction waiting for sales cause economy is gone or very slow.

You just have to stop mining when the resource concentration drops off, give it an hour and resume. Rinse, repeat. ZZZZ

Mining is really bad right now... ALt-F4 till tomorrow

Im curious since i saw the first pages. Did you get a mentor yet? You seem to need one really bad.

Mining is terrible, its based on a time based system which is absolute junk, its trash and does not value the participant's time at all. Timing > Skill.... It's lazy design.

I am not happy.

My method has now been refined and a definite pattern has started to emerge. A pattern of diminishing returns.

The array starts out strong but over time the misses start to pile up. In order to preserve my bank balance and sanity, daily mining operations will cease when the resource concentration goes below a minimum threshold.
