about 2 minutes before this event went down,
a member of the Varyag mothership thought it was funny to tell us a secret of their tactics.

not shortly after the following happened..

There was again nearly no loot from this strike.

Oh NO! The Pirates! lol

Please continue burning PEDs and keeping our loot pool filled.... I'm just about due for an ATH and will rejoice knowing that a % of that is from your wasted money.

Menace

Oh, what a secret tactic  never heard of that one before

As long as people log off in mothership I fail to understand why you are wasting money trying to loot MS.
Poor loot is due cause of that, the loot you took was from noobs who didn't know you could log off.
As it is you don't strenghten planetside economy by protecting them from massive import export, it only is a destructing process cause only noobs are disgusted and it's far easier for them to quit the universe.
P.S. You should have shot me :p

you mean this is a secret, you just come out the closet now :scratch2:

Stagger, it is not an exploit to log off while on a mothership. Don't send frivolous support cases to Mindark, it hurts the whole community, especially those with valid support cases.

The EULA does, however, prohibit the use of deception to gain an unfair advantage over another player, a practice that members of your "crew" regularly use when they deny that they are pirates to gain the trust of space travelers. Just so you're informed.

stagger, you just crave attention dont ya :)
and if the attention was somehow deserved..but id dare say 99% could not care less which pirates loots which ship

most people i know me included(in quads/vtols) fly on autofly between planets so its not a helluve achievement to gun us down when we are watching tv/taking a dump(preferrably both at the same time)

Don't hate the player, hate the game.
I'm just trying to make space interesting tbh.

As far as i'm concerned, people lie to us all the time of being empty and that we shouldn't kill em.
ofcourse some of em don't.. but hey how can i know?

anyways therefore i think it's only fair if we return the favor now and then.

OMG! Who will repair that ship again...

:girl: It is nice to sit in a seat while we are at the SS,my feet were getting sore from standing
Thanks for all the extra skills I got Staggger

Maybe I should post a a screenie of the extortion attempt before you shot us down, piracy maybe be legal, but is extortion.

But to be honest, who cares was no big deal we were just going to skill so cheers for the free skills :)

What makes me laugth is that pirates has been wineing about players logging off, but now they found out that there is a blind spot behind the mothership where the turrents cant get them.

This is actually a wrong statement, you might have been in that range for your guns in relation to the Normandie herself, but not in relation to her guns.
This is due to the size of motherships leading to not all guns being able to defend all parts of the ship and due to mindarks design flaw of not making one of the hangar gunner turrets avaiable to use yet it even leaves you one point to attack where no gun can hit you back. This has been figured out by stagger some time back and he has been experimenting with it for awhile now leading to this 'Special' attack from 'outofrange' for mothership guns.
So yes congratulations on being the first to take down Normandie on a passenger flight, though no passengers were lootet and only a few peds worth of pirate gift stuff from the crew.
I already put a support case of reassigning the current gunner turret access for one gun to allow covering the whole mothership towards mindark quite some time ago and maybe they will listen more closely to this now as you are showing off how to attack out of safety.

Maybe the blind spot is there by design, not as a flaw, to allow for such tactics and force the MS owner to actually use their own tactics to counter such attacks? :dunno:

It's always nice to see someone giving free money to MA so others don't have to. Maybe you are even giving money to me via CLDs. Keep up the good work on spending money.

What nebula virus is an acctually soc  it thought it was just a name for the merry spacemen in tights(bad pun cuz they don't give money to the poor aka me)

bwahahahaha
there is no blind spot at the backside.
the gunners just can't shoot! omfg, are you guys that stupid to realise?

you can see in the video that i almost kissed the motherships ass then started to fly back.
this to prove to the community that we do not use a range-exploit!!

Anyone who says we use an exploit for taking down motherships can expect the following to happen in space.

:silly2:

We'll start taking abstract noir photos with a slight dark theme hinting at an old saying through pain and modern art?

this is a feature in other space games where it is possible to fly in a blind spot. in my experience of that it takes pilot skill to maintain the position long enough to destroy the big ships ,but, here, because the ms is too slow the pilot needs next to no skills to maintain the position.
I think its a feature worth keeping but it is too much of advantage as it stands atm. The big ships gun turrets need improving slightly to narrow the blind spot (so that battles are actually possible) but only become a viable target when the big ship is going to warp where it has to present its weak point to get away. These things all need(ed:rolleyes:) thinking about by the "design team":yup:.

This is why motherships have a hangar from which they can launch their own quad wings. There were two simple lessons learned from the Perception event. 1) Increase the SI of your ships if you do not want to be blown up. 2) Quad wing escorts force attackers into the fire zone of the mothership.

Edit: Stagger should stop bitching about the log off usage. MA is aware of it and has done nothing to stop it and of course, as Kim has said: "Simply put, if it happens in a pvp area I couldn't care less."

Ok , i guess motherships have that ability , but the privateers dont . I think there is still a blind spot on privateer turrets too , i dont know if the slightly better moveability is enough make it harder .
