So, after the new VU looks like we have some upcoming new BP's for the component book.

Anyone have one of these yet? If so what are the ingredients?
Will they be the new competition for Explosives Projectiles? If so, they go up to level 8.

Thoughts??

No idea, just a wild guess here. Maybe it is an attempt to boost crafting of other items and use them in the widgets. Instead of nano cubes. Maybe they can take arbitrary looted or crafted items based on tt value or level or whatever. So much useless stuff but possible revenue is now locked down in dusty storages.

No one will craft these if they are not used in other item blueprints, not while there is still EP's.

Making them more, super-useless.

Nanocubes. Why nanocubes? Instead of kidney/pancreas oil, some low-mu metal or whatever helps the market. We were so positive about this update, but someone has to spoil it.

I am clueless to the purpose of this. Is it only for skilling? Maybe it gives more, better and differant kind of skill gains than crafting EP. It must have some competative advantage compared to crafting explos. From a skilling point of view. In the best of crafting worlds it might be quite awesome to craft making the market for muscle oil and the Basic ... stuff better than today. I don't believe MA adds this without a good reason. Let's give it time.

Yes. Empty fillers to fatten the goose. If it was to help with skilling, less cost per click enables to click more. If it was to help the market, underused materials would be picked up. So these two are already not the reason. I'll give it time to learn what I'm missing, yes. By standing by.

I have a suspicion that down the road some of these new components will be ingredients for something interesting such as some gizmo that increases your eco rating somehow, or gives you a better buff than the rings... Who knows... maybe they are going in implement bracelets, anklets, and toe rings? Widgets sounds like something for a factory... so maybe the promised factories are 10 years away?

New attachment book #2 also so yes I think ME amp

The tool Tech Gizmo can be found in Tool book #3

Features/Changes
  • A new series of component blueprints are being introduced. The purpose of these blueprints is for skilling up and to find new blueprints. The components crafted with these are only used in this series of blueprints and will not be included in any other blueprints. These blueprints are available on all planets.
  • Two new series of limited blueprints for new limited weapons are being introduced. These blueprints are available on all planets.
(Bolding mine - H.)

No MF amps here.

Without them, each next widget would be exponentially more expensive - compound interest at its best.

If they used "some 101% material" for dilution, the whole system would stop working once it's not 101%. Remember the great thyro/adrenal drought? ;)

Yes - they were giving much less in the loot. It looked like an experiment at steering - what I'm not sure, assumed markup at the time. How is it related to this here?

Maybe I was wrong about the skilling, there is an idea. If it works as intended, yet to what end? Skilling crafting is nice, but with deliberately useless items? You can as well chip in then. And what for if crafted items remain less desirable than their counterparts from other sources? The new weapon blueprints otoh seem to indicate that the skilling bp's are only part of the plan, and then it all makes sense again. A lot of inferior items will become outmoded. Is the fog beginning to clear up?

Also, the announcement openly says "to find new blueprints" - these are intended for bp fishing.

There has been some sort of race to the bottom among PPs in who would provide the cheapest and easily available fishing bp - think demonic refiner, oiled miluca boards, roadie amp, sandrunner fuel cells, etc., etc.; it seems MA is trying to preempt that race before they get to higher levels.

If they used e.g. thyro instead of nanocubes here, they couldn't do that again.

Call me a cynic...but...

EP by another name ..much ??
Avoidance of the risk that the gambling and banking commissions may decide EP breaks the rules and risks MA's banking licence ??
The fact it now uses a very few ingredients from the main economy looks like a smokescreen designed to prove it is part of this game rather than a casino.

With only a little effort the design teams could have made some new 'skiller BP's ' that contributed to later crafting of items and therefore to the economy in a tangible way.
Hell they could even have used them to craft some of the components that no longer drop such as Advanced target assessment units, so that items that need them could be crafted again.

So frikking anoying that they are so ignorant about reviving the hunting loot market, and using them fucking nanocubes from TT the stupidity is astounding.:mad::mad:

Had a spontaneous revulsion, too, but the first responders are right, should let it settle for a bit and learn what it really means. Trouble is, with like EP we haven't figured it out ever since.

Revisiting the topic after a bit of cooldown. It seems neither fish nor meat, or both. What are the facts, what the interpretations?

The widget blueprints use standard crafted components as well as common materials which is positive for their ailing markets, but then nanocubes on top. The end product is useless (and this is explicitly stated) except for recycling in the next higher level blueprint, the final one must be tt food then. The only purpose the blueprints exist is for their side effects. The ArMatrix weapon blueprints are composed in the same way, but their produce is definitely useful and desirable. Even looks very competitive at first sight.

That the widget blueprints use standard components and materials makes it unlikely they are intended to replace EP. The point was made that those actually increased crafting volume manifold because they use only tt ingredients and it was seen as useful to bind or isolate a certain clientele, the end of which is still hotly debated however.

Another point was made that if other filler materials were used, e.g. low-markup animal oils, it would rob MA of the freedom to nerf these. My spontaneous thought was on the oils that didn't go into the Galactica mission, so the strands would be separated and thus don't take away the possibility to implement directive measures on either side.

Since it is also stated in the component bp descriptions that they may still receive changes, could it be that it just wasn't finalized for this VU what other materials should go in, or they want to study how the new system plays out before deciding? Too many changes at once can make observation of their individual effects impossible.

There might be more plausible explanations for the use of tt filler material. There might be different explanations for why it is in the skilling blueprints and why in the weapon blueprints. I don't feel wiser yet.

It should also be noted that "weapon tech gizmo" and "attachment tech gizmo" blueprints produce the same item. That is likely to make market in those a bit more liquid.

I don't have anything to back this up, but to me this feels like an experiment...like they're using this as a trial run to test some ideas about crafting.

i can't see these new things in my bp's books
no attachments book vol 2 available in technician too

we have to wait/see discover some more blueprints ( i hope so) t-->so that the endproduct has a good use in entropia...

otherwise those are only useless blueprints like those ones which use dunkel(e.g. F-104) or are lvl 1bp with producing sh..lvl 100 weps...

Ah, indeed. The whole picture is still very much developing. There they are: Attachment/Weapon Tech Gizmo I.. bp use all the animal oils, seen up to VI so far which uses liver, V pancreas etc. There are likely more to come. Suspect that the fattening with nanocubes is really for affording flexibility to steer consumption in the future, which means their composition might be malleable forever. Does this make sense?

When I am close to my materials, Id like to offer the use of my bp's for a deposit and materials to craft this chain. I hope it is not just a waste of ped to line MA's pockets, and the gizmo's will be used in something.

atm its only the craft chain to get to the final product tech gizmo 8 to then run it for the recycle bps to get shrapnel

its then equally like ep6 upt to ep8 (loot at mat cost for recycle 1-3)

there is only one bp i know in eu which has like 300 ped per click (arnament dev 3), after this the new ones take place like 200 ped per click etc (not calculated all for this)

Nothing like EP, as you have to craft the previous level.

Massively expensive.

EP is tt stuff.

i was referring to the ped per click cost...and to the recycle bp...

sure ep has only tt cost but the cap is at 20 ped per click..this would be a nice way for more ped per click
(since the old high click bp arent really clicked anymore often ..like the sights etc..)
