Info: New little sweat camp

and

Erm. make that, great hunting opportunities to the SW of Anok.

Also:
As most Ambulimax Young hit around 40 then anybody with full health is going to survive at least two hits (unless they get a critical). It is my observation that you rarely get hit more than twice in a row by the same Ambu if you are sweating in a large group, which gives you the option of healing yourself if you wish. The only time you die in one hit is if you get attackedby, say, a provider, and even then you have to be pretty unlucky.
Also, it takes a while to get the Neas TP, so the people are there are not really fresh noobs as you seem to imply. I reckon most new sweaters start off at Combibo island and sweat camp, and only later move to Neas, by which time they have a fiar idea about what they are doing.

I am fresh off the boat myself.
These days, it's hard to get far in this game without the scammers, ripoff artists, resellers, freaks and for-profit mentors scooping the new arrival up.
I don't mind most of those, but it is relevant here because one of the favorite forms of recruitment is a run to Neas. The offerer usually bills it as "THE place to gather Sweat".
Fresh off the boat, most of us are welcomed into Entropia by being told to sweat to get money for weapons, escorted to SC or Neas, and then more or less abandoned there.
On my first visit to Neas, what I encountered was an area where everything was pitched at too high a skill level for me, making it a thoroughly miserable experience.
On my first visit to Swamp Camp, my experience was basically "New here? Cool! Here, sweat til you drop and sell me your sweat at .40!"
Fortunately, I have a very good mentor, as well as having watched a friend play for a few months before I joined. As of this writing, I have yet to sell a single bottle of sweat; however, my Evade is already up to 160 :wtg:... mostly from sweating at Swamp Camp.
I only discovered Anok when 7up came to SC to publicize it. So far, the hunting is sweet and the people are fun :)

All in all, my first recommendation to someone who has arrived on calypso less than an hour ago is: Go NW to Swamp Camp, see how much skill you can get there, ignore the freaks, and hope for heals. After running a couple of TP runs to Anok, I can say that 80% of those fresh off the boat don't have the patience for the run, and 15% will get to Anok using only its coords. Granted, those 15% have Successful Entropian written all over them, but based on Anok's subjective distance from PA, I recommend new arrivals to go to Swamp Camp, and try to avoid getting scammed there. Unless a wormhole is used: a wormhole to Anok would be a fantastic gift to a newb!

Still sweating it,
Lefty

i love this idea. i think the creature selection for a un maxed opalo is better than sweat camps mobs, except the diakiba spawn in swamp of course.

nice work on getting the new sweat area together.

speaking of that, even the tt handgun is nice to kill snables, i like to hunt them with an s30 ;)

exactly ... i think we need to guide more new comers to this area. it seems to be a winning situation for them since they won't waste time trying bibos as their first mob or spend more ammo on bery etc..

Great map! There are also regular runs with experienced players from Swamp Camp to Anok )

Been there last weekend with my Proto avatar and enjoyed the place a lot! I swunting a bit on the Snables, Exas and Daikis and got quite decent loot (but don't expect a global or something ;)) of them. Occasionally I was trying to spot the mob belonging to a red dot on the radar (I prefer to stay away from the Kerberos as long as they don't attack) and also noticed Gibnibs. So the mobs over there are really well-suited for noobs (like me)! Also at the revive there is most of the time someone healing! (if you read this: thanks for that :))
So I don't think I will get back to Swamp Camp soon! If you want to give it a try: you can wait for someone organizing a TP run over there (which happened quite often during the weekend.. it was almost a shuttle service ;)), setting up a wormhole or just try to get there yourself (it isn't that hard, especially if you already have the Atlas Haven TP).

Keep the good work going on! :):yay::wtg::yay::wtg:

You have gatned experience in your Sweat Gatherer skill.
Bump!

i was re reading the thread.

OMG tantillons. those are Noob's worst nightmare i wouldn't venture there without some wep of some kind and most surely ARMORED. anyway,i have to say that the times i went to anok there was 1-2 ppl sweating and no healers at att. that happened ~13:00 UTC . i think that until it is more popular, swamp camp will still be beginners best friend:D

Bump for a New Friend ')

Anok is a nice place to spend the afternoon :wtg:

Great place to sweat and perfect mix of mobs for n00bs. Favorite place of mine to swunt when I am broke. Wish it was easier for OJ's to get to, though, as it seems more suited to them than PA, with it's Cornundos and Combibos and Bery's.

Hi,

actually a very nice place!

I'd recommend to be careful not to come too far S or SW, bigger Snables there, and occasional bigger Daikiba that are able to hit quite hard.

I'll visit. Atlas is my home, and this place is near. Really hope we'll now not get too crowded ...

Anyways, will check for a safe route from PA - newbies are dropping only there these days, don't they?

Have fun!
