NI dev team is done

It's crazy that MA just gonna give us a heart attack without some "we will be replacing them with humans or this guy xxxxx and 2 AI bots" whatever something. Instead just wait until the VU with people seeing hope with some content then tell us they all got fired.

So this means Mindark has officially gone from 58? 56? employees just 2 years ago to, depending on the size of Circe team(I think 3), to under 20?

I'd feel VERY nervous if I was Cyrene, Arkadia and Toulan. I understand MA doesn't own them, BUT I honestly don't believe that means jack shit right now.

Past relationships, success, and maybe even contracts do not matter at all at this point. And Although they are not directly Mindark Employees, Neither was the NI team before last year.

This is not good. Mindark has had an immense amount of trouble making GOOD QUALITY NON BUG RIDDEN content for even one planet for quite some time now. Now we expect them with a non existent rocktropia and Next Island to be able to make 3 planets worth of content AND Space?

Will these planets just go the way of Crystal Palace and FOMA?

Fuck. I feel so bad for that team. I hope they knew at least for a decent amount of time to get their bearings and figure out what they will do next.

Destroying the Discord was NOT a good idea. Need to give people time to archive everything as a lot of information was posted in there, but NOT in other spots.

Idk bruh, but Mindark Better hurry up and give me my withdraw before they go under lol
EDIT: AS I WAS TYPING THIS I GOT THE PENDING IN MY BANK LETS GOOO

I do think this is further proof of how many people are withdrawing in these last few months. My $12k usd isn't a lot, but I know MULTIPLE people doing well above that number. And that's just the ones I talk to and know about. How many more are withdrawing?

Given MA’s recent 2023 fin restructuring, their likely attempting to centralize operations ..... consolidate control, align

The content means there is still hope. People getting fired means these are testing times.

Hope they are able to ride out the storm and hire people again. Which reminds me did I tell you about this great plan I had that would be cheaper for us to play and make MA a tonne of money ... ;)

It was a fucking horrible idea. Plain and simple.

It made zero sense. Was convoluted,(even by ma standards) and would 100% be the end of entropia instead of a 50% chance it ends.

It doesn't surprise me, the universe is too big for the playerbase and the dev teams. Too much mediocre content with over the top promises to entice 'investment' deposits. Then it's left to die on the vine and onto the next new idea. You could cut down/delete most of the content in this game and it would vastly improve it. The Planet Partners were meant to bring something new to the table, but I fail to see it, just Calypso content reskinned, ruining the 'feel' of Project Entropia with silly content that doesn't suit a scifi game.

Bingo. Having the same items and ideas with different names ain’t going to do much. Players should have been able to work together a lot closer, or be built around different classes and professions better.

More useful and good bps that require ingredients from multiple planets. More quests that have you go from planet to planet etc.

This is mindark fault in the end

I agree with that with the exception of Cyrene ... Their team is super active, online a lot and their uniqe missions are pretty cool ...

Its a sad Day, NI devs was kinda amazing with their work and community. Will miss them and the work they was doing, i dont know what MA its thinking or doing but firing good workers its always a sign of bussines failure

PD. Was thinking in do some investment again ingame but i wont be doing it till MA give some official statements of what the hell they are doing with a roadmap as other decent games do.

It's one of those things that just sucks and is a big blow to the universe as a whole.
How close the NI Devs worked witht he comunity is something that is worthy respect they even took their time to talk to the newbies and the small players which is something that MindArk has neglected for years and something that was really needed.
So we now lost the dev team behind one of the best planets for onboarding and community building in general.

What the fuhuuuck

Players are not happy. For a while now. This is just another failure at communicaton from MA (nothing new, I gather you're being held at thight lips by the company)

But we're really pass the point of any confidence to the product.

Would you be so kind an remind the powers that be, that customers of the product are getting disappointed in the entertainment value that they get (mostly any entertainment other than. Hard drugs is cheaper than this), the market is dead, we can't be fulfilled by 90s customer service promises, and "sky is falling". We need a proper roadmap how ALL of this is going to be addressed.

If you're in any way, planning to release UE5 with the current state of economy, at best it's going to be a laughing stock, and your final advertisement opportunity completely wasted.

@Socrates|Mindark just tagging cause no one else seems to care

Bruh he's probably gone next. Wild if he stays but My goes. Although I'm sure he has a little bit more "power" due to...idk

The only reasonable answer I have is, it's a takeover of the controlling stock. And all the recent things ( Dailies) are just to keep the daily turnover rates reasonable, while the deal goes through.

My mind can not comprehend the ineptness of that is not truth.

I hope this is wrong but my gut says it’s likely close to the truth. I plan to stay until Socrates and Ludvig let us know there are 15 minutes until the final downtime and we disappear into eternity.

Well... the MA annual general meeting is at the end of March, decisions are expected to be taken around that time.

Annual reports for 2024 are out, btw:
Swedish
English (abridged)

Net profit is down to 4,872,155 SEK.
(Which does not come as a surprise, really.)

The only people (well person) with the power to make any calls regarding this and call for a change:

The officials like Ludvig and Socrates in the grand sceme of things are just... the lower ranks (No offence ment just... the reality of things).
They can suggest a change but it's not their call at the end of the day.

But screaming at Ludvig or Socrates regarding this is kind of pointless since it's not... their... call.
I can totally relate to your frustrations however.

Yes... a good chunk of players started voting with their ped last year... supriced that it even showed in the reports if i'm going to be honest.

Net revenue for the financial year 2024 amounted to 90.7 MSEK (122 MSEK). The significant decrease compared to the previous year is partly explained by a new policy for the provision of unconsumed user funds, introduced in the previous year, which resulted in a one-time effect of 11.7 MSEK in 2023. In addition, revenue was negatively impacted by a decline in activity within Entropia Universe.

Just about $500k USD. At least that's after salaries, etc., but that doesn't seem like much buffer. I would take some sleuthing in old reports, but the document only goes back to 2020. I'd be curious what the net profits were prior to COVID.

Screaming at blues don't matter anymore. Maybe never did. Take your power and vote with your wallet. They can decide to save their poisoned golden goose and start acting like a gaming company or let the stupid board members kill it off.

saw this coming if theyre not making a ton of money theyre forced to cut staff unfortunately it sux but, price of business the double edged sword of it all XD cant make money gotta cut ppl but, without ppl cant do enough to make money XD. Only if listening was a variable in it xD
