I was at Camp Phoenix this afternoon and was approached by someone called "Kikkie". As a n00b this player proposed something quite clever actually.....

This Kikkie is a hunter class player, and offered me PED for being the bait for bigger monsters. I was to draw the smaller annoying ones away from Kikkie, and try to sweat or die trying as long as possible. This for me, especially as a n00b player, was a great idea. I was just agreeing to do this, when the damn server lagged to hell and cut both of us off! I logged back in, and could not locate Kikkie again.

If I'm at Camp Phoenix again I will offer to be bait for any hunter. I think it's a great idea for helping hunters out, and giving us n00bs an idea of what is out there in Calypso too.

Welcome to the wonderful world of PE :girl:
Yes may players will offer newbies ped if they act as bait against larger mobs... glad to see ppl still do this. This used to be much more typical, but lately I cannot say I've seen it enough.
Anyway, gl! It's rather fun (I did it a few times when I was noobish) and you meet some nice ppl doing it too

and you will get some evade skills too which when you start hunting will realy help.

I#ve got plenty of that for sweat sucking :)

I should be given a big McDonalds straw to do that :D

good to see people are still doing that :) .. when I started, this was the only thing a noob without means to deposit could start out...

In fact, here's a screen of me sucking sweat through that straw.

God I'm really bored in work.

So, how would one go about looking for a job as "bait"? I dont think "Looking for job as bait!!" spamming the chat will fly very well with everyone =)

(BTW, i havent played in a LONG time, what's the price of sweat nowadays? When i last played it was like 2.1 pec per bottle)

Price of sweat is roughly 2.5 - 3 depending on who will buy it from you. The more you got, the better the offer though.

I've got no idea about how I'm going to ask hunters if they need a live target to draw the attention for them.....but I will. I'm a bit blunt like that :)

PS I saw someone called Lycia or Lydia or Nadia from Big Brother or something, begging in the main starting area the other day. I'm a n00b on the game myself, but for god's sake have some dignaty :(

I remember the good old running days :dunce:

hehe, that sounds alot like CANNON FODDER!

But whatever makes money works :)

 Nice!

Sorry we were never able to meet up in game. Glad you found something that'll work for you though. :) Good luck! And feel free to ask me any questions if you want. I can still try and help you out some, if you'd like.

To the noobs who are thinking about this: FYI, it's called "running" - or at least it used to be :)

erm... wasn't running kind of impossible after MA changed monsters AI to attack the one that did the most damage or did they change it some more so that its possible now? Anyways, if its do-able then all the better for the new players I suppose

Ohhh, that's sneaky. The offer I was originally made was that I get rid of all of the small annoying monsters, leaving only the big loot wielders for the hunters to dispose of, which is depending on how effective that tactic is (and how close the hunter is on standby), and if the bigger creature leaves me alone as well. If that is true, then no matter how much running I do, they will all flock to the hunter eventually while ignoring me. That will make things difficult.

Another way to work as a runner is by being the one to lure MOBs one-by-one from a large flock of MOBs. So in other words, you ensure the hunter only has to worry about one MOB at a time. Should more MOBs stalk your @ss, keep running until the hunter is done with the one he was on...

Now adays miners are the ones that need to hire noobs to keep mobs away from them. Either that or be armed to the teeth.
Luckily I converted to hunter a year or so back when it became obvious MA wouldn't do shit to improve mining.
