Old player getting back into it

For any decent advice you need to share your skills/lvls, budget and goals atleast. The more you share the more specific the help can be.
Welcome back and GL

Should start you off.
Really a basic set these days, but better than the unwashed running around in supremacy with mod merc T10.

Don't buy any unlimited gear until you find what you want to do in game.

Collect Daily Tokens on Calypso to buy weapons that last 20,000 shots (use Extenders to get more life, 10-30% more shots) from the Daily Token trader.

Edit: You can also look at the E.L.M weapons which don't last as long but are relatively cheap to buy.

The Disciple Armor + various plate sets until you can upgrade to Viceroy on Arkadia.

Healing tool can be Vivo S10 from The Gauntlet to start.

Buy a Blueprint to manufacture you own healing tools after that, as you skill up healing you will skill up crafting. You can do this with mining finders as well, you only need the TT excavator from Next Island, it's unlimited.

Look at the wiki can find out what drops Restoration Chips for your level and you can hunt for those.

Edit: If you want more DPS look at the Arsonistic Chips and hunt for those of your level as well. Just like the Restoration Chips you can use these chips to damage/heal and immediately switch back to your weapon and continue shooting.

Keep most of your money in your IRL pocket for now, don't let these fools try to convince you otherwise (they're ready to sell you their bad decisions), unless of course you want to invest $10,000-$100,000 to forego the grind by buying skills, gear and bankroll.

You'll need to put aside about 1000PED of ammo and 1000PED of loot in your inventory per every 10DPS that your weapon does.

Welcome back!

Can you elaborate on that? I don't understand it.

You need a bankroll for ammo as well as for stacking loot in your inventory. Don't expect to sell loot after each session of activity. This helps create a buffer, allows flexibility in stack sizes you sell and is just simple guidance to help you avoid blowing up your PED card. Don't sell anything to the Trade Terminal if you can help it. At minimum, use the Recycle function there, look at Auction Orders for Nanocubes, recycle and "sell" your common loot that way.

For what it's worth, the Starter Packs are nice but they're really unnecessary. You get a similar unlimited rifle from a mission chain and your disciple armor will replace the Harrier armor. The Vivo S10 is also a better healing tool than the starter pack and it is found through a mission as well.

If you deposit for ammo, buy strongboxes and keys instead. The 50% skill pills are nice but considering skill pills now drop during some events and if you save some keys you can open Seasonal Boxes you loot which also have skill pills included in their loot table.

Get an active mentor.
Do gauntlet for Vivo S10. Best low level fap in game and free.
Complete mentorship and graduate on calypso or next island for either Pixie adjusted, or Atlas armor respectively. Two of the best starter armors in my opinion for general use. Also free.

Weapons just skill up on TT shit or bukins rifle (obtained from starter mission) for now until you have more of an understanding of what you want to do.
Also if you buy the starter pack you get a Barbarella and an amp which is a nice TT alternative

It's the ZX Sinkadus amp; that's the only item I value in the web store so much that I had to get my 2nd recently.

I don't see that amp as useful unless you're happy with cost of your time being calculated in PEC (Project Entropia Cents -> 0.01PED).

10 PED = $1 USD

Opportunities exist at this level but they become more prevalent as you gain the ability to hunt higher level creatures.

This isn't like top-secret information, so here is what I'd recommend. Always pick the highest DPP rating setup, and the EFF will follow.

If you decide to skill up, I'd recommend starting with the Cyrene melee weapons; they max out under level 3. Afterwards, move to the TT weapons & UL amplifier where possible. Skilling melee has benefits to increase the Strength attribute and some health gains for hunting.

I'd gladly count things in pecs if the gains are always in peds. Enough said.
