Hello all,

I would love to say one question in public and i hope someone from either FPC or MA will answer.
Im not going to quote Marcos statements as im lazy to dig them up, but it would be great if he can comment this.

MindArk ! You told us that items lost during tiering process are returned to loot pool (almighty drain system), but actually no one ever looted any item lost during tiering process. Tiering in general its here for some time already, and we know about many, many items ranging from low level ones up to high end items lost during tiering process, but actually there is no single message about someone looting some of these items..

Would someone from MA/FPC comment this? Also if the recent change in tiering process is changing this?
What is the current state of items lost during tiering process?

As MA stated many many times, every item has its own ID, so they pretty much knows what is currently happening with these items, and we as community would love to know.

Hanne/ Marco , MA guys its your time now.

You may well be right but just how do you know this to be a fact???

because of support tracking stuff when something is used with a fraud account or stolen item.

btw I doubt planet partners had something to do with this as it is Mindark here. I think they re_balanced it to get a more used enchancer market. (read more decay)

Didn't someone loot a ML-35 right after tiering was implemented and someone fessed up to losing one? I happened upon an EP-17 which was an odd loot for me these days and when I saw it I thought "hmmmm someone must have lost that in tiering" I think it happened but getting someone to post that they looted an item and a post from someone else stating they lost it and then associating the two might be difficult.

I also don't think items were returned immediately to the loot system. There might still be some outstanding items waiting for BASE decide when, where, and........ (oops better not go there) they will go too.

a question I have is --- if the lost items were "needed" and are not now, did they like collect in to some "vault" like the defaulted bank loan items, and now the "vault" is full and will open to drain in to the loot pool, and later they might change the system back again to the old way to reload the vault?!?!?

i looted a fap 50 yesterday which is kind of rare these days. maybe someone lost of of those :D

Have they ever said lost items goes to the "loot pool"? I think they have said it drains items at makes it more possible to let other players loot items, that doesen't mean exactly the same item but maybe something similar.

Somebody looting a rare item that has been assumed not to drop any more does not actually necessarily mean that it was "returned" due to tiering. Or due to being TT-d. It could instead be that it was the first publicised case of looting over ages with previous looters keeping silent.

I know I would not advertize the fact if i looted an a105.

to quote myself here:

I believe the "old" tiering system was implemented to get rid of some of the illegal items in game that appeared years ago due to a bug that some how cause items to double themselves. I think these items unbalanced the game (because the game is a very delicately balanced thing). With this tiering MA took away some of those items, balancing the game again. Because the game is not a casino according to Swedish law, the items that needed to be removed were determined before hand and anyone that happen to tier one of them lost the item. For all the other items the % of success were valid, but for those few items they were not and you had a bigger chance of loosing it (maybe even 100%??).

sooo your angry because people have not looted RARE items, or well that they have not taken a screen shot and uploaded it .

This is kind of stupid statement. Only because no info about looted uber item hasnt gotten to this forum, doesnt mean it hasnt happened.

Not every player is registered here, and even if it would be so, that doesnt mean they want to tell everyone they looted it...

For example I have heard of uber gun looted about a month ago, which wasnt posted here.

Could be true except that your example is one you could not lose in tiering as you cant tire a Amp  :silly2:

Back to square one..

Actually, some stuff was looted like ML35, Shadow part, Angel part, ...
So it would be wrong to state it was not recycled.

As for Foeripper maybe it will be looted. Maybe even during the robot event ... who knows.
It can take 1-2 years before one is looted back I guess ... if the mobs are hunted in the first place.

So before doing any fingerpointing, make sure your statement is true ...

Some items have been looted so this isnt true. You are right though about FPC making a statement, they should communicate when big changes happen in game, their doing or not. I've never understood the silence when big news affecting the community occurs. It's been like this for years, the old community rep was like it, and so is the new. It is utterly wrong.

I believe the "old" tiering system was implemented to get rid of some of the illegal items in game that appeared years ago due to a bug that some how cause items to double themselves.

No. There have been many many loot drops over the last 7 years of those items which were lost to tiering and that just wouldnt have happened if your statement were true. They wouldnt have added even more of those items with SGA either.

Every time MA see colonists making money from their 'system' in a way they didnt intend, they change the system.

Items maybe looted later... but currently there seems to still be a surplus of items on the market... once prices start raising again... then items maybe drop? i dont know but if i was running the game this is how it would work...

currently there is more suppply then demand...
once demand surpasses supply maybe they start to release some items...

but yea no more item drain :(

Im not going to quote Marcos statements as im lazy to dig them up...

For the record, the comment in question came from the dev team, via a post in the old Gateway blog. Here's Bertha copying it to the forum.

By adding the secondary item as an ingredient we also get a drain in the economy concerning unlimited items. Drains are essential to have in the Entropia economy system. With a drain in place we have more ability to adjust the balancing and increase drop rates of unlimited items; something we believe is good for the community as a whole.

Regards,
The Entropia Platform development team.

Might as well post Marco's comment about the Replicator" item.

MA says they have some other things in the system that hasn't been found yet. Even unique items will be upgradable.

Well, if you happen to stumble upon an Upgrade Replicator, I'd suggest you don't TT it. ,-)

My guess is things didn't quite work out the way they hoped, so they had to changes things. ('course this seems like a "no duh" statement.)

Never mind didnt read it propely

I did not loot a rare amp, but i know a102 still drops (something you could find out yourself). I have looted EWE guns, nothing high level though. There is no dfinite way to construct a case that differentiates between "this drops, contrary to what people say", "this only drops when one is accidentaly TT-d" and "this only drops as returns from tiering". Well, in a year we can eliminate the tiring one. MAYBE.

How in the world should MA reply to something you totally made up in your mind?

Just because half of the community hopes that

"With a drain in place we have more ability to adjust the balancing and increase drop rates of unlimited items"

means: "once a certain item is lost the same item will drop in loot"

doesn't make it any more accurat.
