This does not always work, just like the whisper method, but yes that's also a good idea.

I genuinely don't know how the methods aren't identical or links to the same...database? Idk if that's the right word but

Happened a couple days ago when I tried helping someone find someone else. Mail method didn't work, but whisper did. Where I've also had Mail work and Whisper not work for the same person

This does not always work, just like the whisper method, but yes that's also a good idea.

Never heard anyone have any issues with it, myself included and i've used it a ton.

If it's in protection mode he wouldn't be able to show it to the hunter in trade window. Safer option would be to equip the fap and let hunter scan it.

i understand the problem, really sorry, i was in a moment where i was looking at the auctions, weapons, heals, mf chip, a little to see the prices, a little to dream.
then i came across a mod 2600, an auction that was 2 hours old, i looked at the history, i looked at my ped card and i made a compulsive purchase.
in reality, i have a resto adj and an easter ring with 5% lifesteal; for my usual game, that's quite enough.
but it turns out that sometimes i like to go for bigger, harder-hitting mobs; i only have adj pixie and 3 parts paneleon armor; i was using an ur175 and it was getting on my nerves.
I once owned a 2350 mod and it was great, but now with resto and ring, it's not so necessary.
I'd emptied my storage to get some cash and see about switching to a more powerful weapon so I could alternate between mobs.
the underlying problem is that I have a prof hunt level of 81, but I have to restrict myself to hunting mobs below my level because I have no protection.
i'm planning to make paneleon and tide claw to get imperium armor; my current weapon is sufficient; even for jellyworms.
I'm regularly confronted in my game between what I have to do, what I can do and what I want to do.
if i listened to myself, i'd buy L armor and L weapon and go on a continuous hunt for big atrox in the east of jurra plateau

hum, all this to say that I regret not having paid attention to the seller's name; I was more in a compulsive buying state linked to my restricted game ...

Screaming and moaning never helps...i did what i could...now its up on him. and for 95% the fap is already sold...cuz i have my hypothese here...some weird things happened after. but i have no proof, so i will keep it secret.

This is maybe not the soundest argument. In normal life folks would also be arrested for shooting someone, and rightly so, but we prefer folks not get arrested for roleplaying the act of shooting someone in a game, even when the game is played for money.

Well after i searched thru logs (im new to this)....my hyphothese was right.....right after i lost my fap, a guy offered Mod26000 on trade channel for +6.600. thats not that weird. but after i went sleep and reloged after nightmares - i tried to reach out the hunter on fap an trade channels. This guy answered and asked what happened - very very friendly, a bit too much. then the conversation went a bit weird .... he said its not good to pm the hunter too much, otherwise i will be banned etc and that kind of things....so thats end of the story i think.

Shouldn't be the end of the story. For example we had en "ingame" wedding several years back, and someone came in and stole all the gifts and ran away with it. Submitted a support case with name and time/date and they contacted the person. Was just a message, return the goods or get banned. I do believe MA can check all the stuff, thats including the trade (time) incl chatlogs. The person who stole the fap also had to do some actions to get it on auction or trying to trade it by trading channel. 1+1 makes 2. If chatlogs show that there isnt a trade or whatever conversation going on they can turn to the player who stole the fap and give him an ultimatum. Get your fap back or at least the peds that sold it for.

Not sure if I have read if you had submitted a support case? Else i would recommed to do that

This doesn't sound even remotely plausible. A legitimate company might have an all trades are final policy, or they might have a policy of forcibly reversing trades which meet certain criteria, but threatening players with bans to do tradebacks would be like asking for a culture of impersonation scams, the old "I'm an admin give me your password" sort of deal.

Actually this is really good point Fanan.
Kubo just go to police. MA have to cooperate with them. It feels super akward, but that´s probably last chance. When I was trading Magic cards they always solved this kind of problem for me. And that´s like $300 piece of cardboard, more or less. Explain this to someone who have no clue lol. But I have to admit, officers always understood it quickly. Can imagine it´s the same with items in video game with monetary value.
Only catch I see in this aproach is that "all trades are final" rule. But from chat log they can clearly see it was not intended sale or nothing like that.
Just my two cents, if anything can help you I think this is it.
