Over-Crowding / General Observations

Try moving to another planet to mine for a while...All of you posting here seem to concentrate on areas that i also mined on Calypso....Now i moved to Arkadia and have a much better hit rate and MU on some of the ores and enmatters is really much better...People need to branch out..It is possible to mine Arkadia and sort out all the trash stuff you get and have better overall returns as well...Just takes time and alot of patience..

i dont think other ava's being there is going to change your hit rate ...ie ive been close to another ava and dropped and got nrf and then see them drop and global so ore seems to be tied to ava. assuming you are mining teh right depth its prolly just a cycle and you are on low side atm.........since i dont mine much anymore i will let out a little secret ive noticed......if you are a miner crafter watch the globals pop on whatever crafting materials you are using if you are doing a big run or lots are crafting the same thing........so ask friends aquaintences or whoever or even watch globals to see whats being crafted then go after those materials.......ie if i do 1000 clicks on basic screws , iron starts hitting..... maybe thats just coincidence or something personal to my experience , but its worth a shot , or a look next time you do a large craft

sorry for deviating off topic but i agree with robin about changing style and arkadia being a nice place to mine. if it wasn't for being forced into lootable pvp to travel i would go there right now.

oh common, you're forced into nothing much, try it. eventually call a mothership to pick ya if your load is too precious?

I understand abou pvp being kinda anoying and all but, I think there is nothing to lose at least going to Arkadia..It's the problem of what to do with all the stackable loots you found that you dont want to tt and can't seem to put on auction for one reason or another. When I come back to Calypso I decided to find a trader who will buy all my junk in one big lot maybe...Just don't take any stackables with you and your gonna be fine :yup:..Oh yeah and there are so many people giving rides so it's insane low prices to travel now...

It just happened again last night. I was mining a spot that I go to once in a while. It isn't a main spot by any means.

I started optimistically, dropping level 8 amps. About 5 NRFs later, I switched to level 5s. about 10 NRFs later, I switched to unamped, and hit one deposit containing one rock of azzurdite. Woo hoo.

About 2-3 more NRFs later, I come upon....wait for it....a green dot! No way! 25 NRFs, 1 claim, and a green dot mining 150-200m ahead of me. Do I have the worst luck in the world? It's been like this for a month!

Nice to see you posting, Jimmy :D I have thought about PKing miners, but I hate it when I'm PKed for no reason, so I've kind of decided against that. But that could change in the future...

I take a cannon and shoot in the wall, nothing happens. After 5 shoots, I switched to machinegun and send some rounds to that wall, again - nothing. I take a knife, come closer and scratched that wall, and under old paint and dust an ancient, cryptic writing appears:

"Why don't do that first?"

Haha nice! I think I'm going to start "Piano's rules of mining."

Rule #1: Don't bomb amped until you hit something unamped. :D

Hi,

once I did a test with a Soc mate. We used the same finder, unamped, he had a bit better skills than me.

He dropped two bombs in a certain spot. Then I dropped two bombs into this exact same spot. Later we changed position, so I dropped first, then he.

So 4 bombs in a row for every single spot.

Claims came up with no really understandable variance. Sometimes 3 NRF, then my last bomb hit, once all 4 bombs hit. Anything in between, too.

Often results where there was one or more NRF first, and a following bomb hit.
Should the ore be pre-spawned, such should be impossible, right?

This is from some serious time ago. Things might have changed. But you can easily test for yourself - grab a Soc mate and some probes, and try in an area where's EnMat. EnMat is just cheaper for this test ;-)))

Have fun, and phat claims!

Interesting test, although the results are in stark contrast with this more recent set of tests https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/showthread.php?178841-Testing-ores-refresh-rate-in-mining. To be honest I can't ever remember getting anything other than an NRF after rebombing the site of an NRF (generally accidentally).

Nice :)

Let's piss on a few batteries. This "game" uses a very simple system that is not crackable. Chaos. Let me put it another way, if I wanted to figure out how the game worked, I would have to track the activities of every single entity in the game at the same time, which is impossible.

Do other miners influence my hit / miss rate : YES !!!

I do not have the time right now to explain it in detail, but you are all playing in the same field, one person's expense at a set location is another's reward at a set location, the game takes spent resources (bombs / probes /ammo), takes it's "interest", shuffles them around and redeals them. I will post more later

The above post is all theorycraft...

The solution is simple. Take a gun with you when you mine, only mine in PvP, and shoot every green dot you see. :D

I fully endorse this suggestion! :D)

I just suggest you to piss somewhere else, because you're not familiar with programming of systems with heavy load (like MMORPGs).

All (ALL OF THEM) your theories involves kinda hard, complicated stuff for such systems.

There, in numerous loot-theories threads (I just forgot exactly where, and who it was) someone programmed kinda simulation of EU-returns, with dispersion and such. With even NO memory, guess that?

You know, it was looks so similar to EU, and didn't include any special math shit - just one screen of code. I think, it was Mikeemooo, if I remember...

Chaos is in the heads. Chaos, which consist from "I WANT MORE", "I WANT IT NOW", "I WANT IT EASY".

PS: I spent some time and in 10 seconds found it: The thread

And actually The Sim itself.

You know, a couple of days ago, I think you were mining on Oyster, just ahead of me, and then I globalled right behind you after you had dropped close by just minutes (seconds?) earlier.

We're worse off than before, because, are there many customers?

Yes Entropia Universe is a charity organization and its helping budget only is for a little of people..

Good joke. I like reading beliefs like this, and from other type like this: I do not believe in witches, but that there, there are ..:laugh::silly2:

I don't think other Green dots make a difference....maybe do? but i have my high doubts so...... I think it has to do with....

TheoryX multiplied by 3 then divided by pie and some other mathematical stuff (cant give out the secret spice here). Take that Number then turn your avatar around three times while facing a Fresc on TI and add it all up and thats the number of bombs you need to drop in a day to make a profit!

Now mining while using amps...that's a different story.

I know yur secrets strash...

Green dots did have an impact when "numberspiral" was working. You are in a continuously changing system. It has to input, process and spit out results. The system is constantly being bombarded with inputs from multiple avatars at the same time, these changes would definitely change how much raw resource is available for us miners.

Take a 3 by 3 grid

XXX
XXX
XXX

If I have lets say 9 ped worth of bombs on my avatar and the system has to give back 95% of that to me. So each point on this grid is worth .95 ped, I drop a bomb on the middle cell and it misses, that point's value now increases to 1.95 ped as I have spent 1 ped on that location. Now this is happening constantly between all avatars, the values of set cells are changing. I cannot bomb on that location again as I have already bombed there, the system has to keep track of where resources were "seeded" by our avatars and move those resources around.

Why do you think that long veins actually existed, avatars were creating them ... I am getting a headache just trying to wrap my head around this sh!t again.

Very nice :) However we are after mining, not hunting.

I know that. And it's normal - that's why I feel OK to land on someones head and drop probe. Claims kinda "personal" thing.

So what depth of probing are we talking about here, also are you using the front door or the back door ?

Very nice. As always - you didn't read and (or) don't understand what I saying.

And if in that sim strings will be changed from "shoots" to "drops" -what you will say?

Nah - spirals instead, matrixes. Avatars changing system.

If I can't do something, then it's incredibly hard and complicate, for sure.

Depth is just range, on which different ore/enmatt is. Stop speculating about that.

If I use TT-finder with low depth - and get nothing - I will NOT get something deeper in same place, not with VRX, not with any other finder.

Also I don't use doors, I flying thru window leafs.

It could be dice rolls yes, but I doubt that the loot distribution works that way.

:rolleyes:No one got my anal-probe joke
