Personal TP for an appartment

I think one of the reasons appartments aren't really attractive, is that you do not wake up in it.. or you have a hard time getting to your appartment.

I have a suggestion that could be easily implemented. When teleporting, appartment owners get an extra location, their own appartment. No more going from continent to continent, going up elevators, but a quick way to be inside your own appartment. Ofcourse Mindark could make these "inhome teleporters" lootable.. and there could be a nice markup, and they could be decayable.

Another suggestion could be a tick box in options where an appartment owner can select to automatically be "born" inside their appartment when they connect.

A side effect of this is that the cities where the appartments will be a lot more crowded and I think appartment appreciation will grow.

what do you all think? Good idea? Am I totally off?
 
While its true that the Medium and up TP chips do have a TP to home ability, last time I tried it, it just dumped my at Omegaton's TP, not in my apartment (which would be nice). But MAN does that tp to home option burn a lot of ME.
 
If you have an actual house TP to home takes you there. If you have an apt. it just takes you to the nearest TP to your apt which isn't really much help.
 
Interesting idea. I think a Medium TP chip should take you directly to the Estate Terminal. Not cool that it doesn't work for apartments.

I like the idea and think it would make apartments more interesting. It would be nice if it was in every apartment. It would be ok if it was lootable as well.
Would be great if you could have an apartment planet side and one on cnd. Think about what this could do to the value of an apartment on CND. Of course in that case it could only be used personally not for friends. I think this could work even for the pilots. Flights would still be cheaper for most than owning two apartments. So Neverdie what do you think? Someone please let Neverdie know to take a look at this post.

:eek: That doesn't seem like a well thought out feature. The TP to home feature should land you at your Estate Terminal (regardless of what type of Estate it is). Why wouldn't they have made it work that way? :scratch2:
 
Maybe if you got the teleporter inside every appartment building at first floor or at the floor with the open (garden) space that every apartment has at one level :)
 
I would really like the option of having a preset spawn point when I log in and it asks you 'Would you like to spawn from: 'Last known location'? Or 'Hometown/Home'

It would solve the problem of D/Cing and losing a mob you were fighting or something, and if you ever got stuck at an outpost it could be solved by a quick relog :)
 
I would like that :D Making your apparment more accessable is important I think.
I would also like that you will be able to do more from your home, IE. a 'Personal Auction Terminal' that let you access auction from your home. like IRL when u use internat to access e-bay or simular auctionsites.
 
Having a TP in your apartment sounds really nice but I am not sure everyone could afford it.
MA would probably put some horribly high prices on it and it will probably have lots of decay.
Or it would cost Ped-s to be used but I think this is the best idea.
It could cost like 1 ped or less to get back to your place.
What do you think guys?
 
I think you should look on the date of the thread before bumping acient threads..

Apartments and pets are two areas of the game that MA could make much more useful and interesting. Come on MA!
 
hmmmm.....I do not have a bus stop in my appartement in RL and I am quite happy about that.
And since I think, that more TPs would produce more lag and can't really think of any reason, why anyone does not even have the minute to _WALK_ to his appartement, this is definately a bad idea. There are surely much more importent things to intergrate first.
 
The option to spawn at you apartment when you log in would be fantactic, a great Idea and + rep

Totally agree and can u imagine the constant updates because of bugs......:mad:
Although I would love to see it but not its ingame effects....on paper great idea!
 
Personal in teleport maybe, or the tp chips could just have the option to teleport right at home.
Perhaps it could work, to teleport out of there to anywhere else, like towns and such and vice versa.

Its sort of like the personal terminals that were once available, there was a personal revival terminal and TT I think. I assume you would respawn at you personal terminal if it happens to be the nearest.

Yes and no its only on Calypso i got a apartment on CND but i cant get there with a TP-chip to my home so in a way MA dont telling trouth because when you read about the TP chip ( on the back side ) it only says that you can TP home but it takes 3 x ME and it can take you home.
 
I would say that MA should first fix TP chips to take you to estate terminal, no matter what type of estate it is. Nothing more is necessary. They already work like personal TP, so why add another thing working exaclty the same or in very similar way? I think that higher droprate of TP chips having this feature and making them available to more players would be better solution. Even just more lv III chips.
 
I agree that the higher level tp chips should drop more often. It's only the lowest level one which has a reasonable price. It would benefit MA as people would be using more ME.

I didn't know at that time, that medium tp chips had a function almost just like that..

Still.. there are more appartment owners then there are medium tp chips..

and the tp chips will not actually let you tp into your appartment, just the nearest teleporter.. Imagine you are loaded with minerals and ore, and want to place it into your appartment.. actually being able to tp into your appartment would be a real advantage.

I think you're spot on, not way off. Not something for apt owners though...more for LA's that are off the beaten track to encourage visitors?
Same as a shopkeeper in essence, lootable, and with the requirement to visit the TP to get it on the map as all TPs ...if it moves, you would need to revisit the new location to use it.

Apt owners may find it useful too of course, but landowners and those who use far flung areas would really benefit most wouldn't they?

I like this, but I would rather MA sell them on the auction to make initial PEDs, and not have it decay. There are so many apartments that it could still yield some nice profit for MA. Perhaps when the apartment changes owners the TP disappears so that MA can continually sell them.
 
hmm..

wonder if tp to home on those chips will still work at the same price if you try it from another planet, and if that jump will cost less than an actual taxi ride on a ship will.
