It would be great if the mods followed the rules.

An example being that I cannot post about my entropia related website for absolutely no reason other than the mods having a hate boner for me. The rules state that I should be able to. Rewrite your rules or enforce them properly.

Really isn't hard to understand. The only thing I can't understand is why you haven't been permanently banned for repeated violation of rules 1.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.6, 2.9, 2.11, 2.14, 3.1, and probably a few others I've forgotten about.

There is a 'READ THIS before posting' thread from 2005, which deals mostly with image sizes and like that. Note there was only one planet in 2005.

Recently, Hall of Fame section is being flooded by posts of stuff from other planets. All of those planets have their own forums.

Do you see a problem here? What, if anything, should be done about this?

WE have a other planets section here already.

To seperate global/HoF screens hit on other planets, we could have a other planets HoF section but why make it more complicated than it is.

Just let them post in existing HoF section :)

Unfortunately, there is no simple (e.g. non-tedious) way to enforce rule 3.10, specifically the "...and only if the thread has been pushed to the second page of a forum..." portion.

We rely on members to use the Report Post tool to alert the forum staff to members who may be abusing the forum rules, especially in the trading section.

Note also that there is an option in your User CP to filter out Trading Forum posts from the New Posts display, if you find the daily bump trains too distracting.

I dont think oleg was talking about trading threads. Do a search for exactly the phrase he used and you will see.

It's such a pointless waste, one should NOT be allowed to bump his own threads outside of the trading section (Im guilty of this too probably).

Everything I said there WAS constructive.

I think we should allow criticism. Ideas are perceived as criticism by the weak...it is too hard to decide what is criticism and what is constructive input. (*specifically regarding Rule 2.14)

I think we should allow scammers and exploiters and shady sellers to be named. It is better for the game that this stuff is talked about openly. (*specifically regarding Rule 2.13)

I think we should allow us to fight with each other. It is the ONLY way stuff gets resolved. When stuff gets resolved, fighting ends...either someone backs down and sees they were wrong...or people apologize or even become friends. Constantly removing the posts doesn't stop the wars from brewing and hurting this game...(*specifically regarding Rule 2.3)

I think this is ALL in MA's best interest.

I think that it is in MA's best interest to keep us here with a moderately moderated forum, rather than make us all leave for an unrestricted forum.

Please, limit some of your rules, and be fair when enforcing them.

It is clear from your actions and what you wrote in the OP that you will refuse to change. I still wanted this write this here. If all this forum becomes is a sales thread, then you did a major disservice to the game you claim to want to protect.

2.7 - Profanity
Profanity in thread titles or user titles is NOT permitted. Profanity in posts should be kept to a minimum, and not be used in a comment directed at other members, Forum Staff members, Entropia Universe planet partner representatives or MindArk representatives. While generalizations using profanity and/or foul language may be common in everyday conversation, when used in a direct communication to another person, they can be interpreted as rude or insulting. Excessively profane content may be edited or deleted without notice, and may result in a temporary or permanent ban from the forum without notice, depending on severity. BULL POOP

This rule includes such things as the sale of avatars, the sale of PED or items for cash, attempts to circumvent the official deposit/withdrawal channels, attempts to exploit a weakness in the client software and/or Entropia Universe servers, or defamation of any person, firm or entity, including, without limitation, MindArk PE AB, AR Universe AB, Forum Staff, Entropia Universe planet partners, MindArk's representatives and/or Entropia Universe. 2.12 - Illegal Content

3. DISCUSSION AND POSTING

3.1 - Spamming/Flooding/Trolling
The following are NOT permitted on PlanetCalypsoForum:

Spamming - Posting the same thread in multiple forums, or posting the same post in multiple threads, or sending unsolicited private messages to members.
Flooding - Posting many times in succession in a single thread.
Trolling - Constant harassment of a member, or repeated off-topic and/or rude posts in a thread.


Depending on severity, content in violation of this rule will be edited or deleted, and may result in a temporary or permanent ban from the forum, all without notice. BULL POOP (as to the trolling part because it is TOO VAGUE)

3.2 - Off Topic
Please make every effort to keep your posts relevant to the active thread topic. Detours usually take a thread wildly off topic, and invite others to do the same. Off topic posts (and any responses to such posts) may be deleted without notice. BULL POOP (if off topic occurs, please be fair and delete the person that caused it to go off topic too)

3.3 - Thread Location
Please make an effort to post new threads in the appropriate forum or subforum. Posting threads in the proper section makes the forum easier to browse for all members and visitors, and reduces the workload for our volunteer community staff. If you are unsure where to post a new thread, please take the time to read the forum descriptions in order to familiarize yourself with the focus of the various available forums and subforums. Threads posted in an inappropriate forum may be moved or deleted without notice. FINE

3.4 - Crossposting
You may NOT crosspost (creating redundant threads that link to or promote an existing thread for the purpose of gaining extra visibility). Such threads will be closed or deleted without notice. FINE

3.5 - Necroposting
Pointlessly bumping of dormant, inactive threads causes confusion for other members and visitors who may not notice the original thread post date. A thread is considered inactive if there have been no replies in the last four (4) months. Posting in an inactive thread is strongly discouraged, unless there is a very good reason for reactivating the thread. 3.6 - Real-world Controversial Discussion
Discussion of real world politics, nationalism, religion, war, or other similarly controversial topics is NOT permitted or appropriate for this forum. PlanetCalypsoForum, as the game, is a global community with players from many different countries around the world. Discussion of such topics often disrupts the forum community. Therefore, refrain from starting or participating in any such discussions, as they will be deleted from the forum without notice. FINE

3.7 – Advertising/Recruiting
Advertising or attempts of recruiting community members to other computer games, virtual worlds or MMORPGs other than Planet Calypso is NOT permitted. Any and all such, references, threads or posts, including, without limitation, those that appear in avatar pictures, member profiles or member signatures, may be deleted without notice and may result in a temporary or permanent ban from the forum without notice. FINE

3.8 - Quitting/Leaving
Any threads or posts about leaving Planet Calypso, Entropia Universe or PlanetCalypsoForum, such as “I’m Quitting” or “Taking a Break” whether for positive or negative reasons, will be deleted without notice. This rule applies especially to sales threads. If you are leaving Entropia Universe and are selling your items, DO NOT include comments in your sales thread that indicate that you are quitting or taking a break. Members who are curious about the intentions of the thread starter can inquire via a private message, or within Entropia Universe. BULL POOP (this is egregious)

3.9 - Posting for Banned Members
Members are NOT permitted to post on behalf of any member permanently or temporarily banned from PlanetCalypsoForum. Similarly, members are NOT permitted to allow any banned member to use their PlanetCalypsoForum account to circumvent a ban (See Rule 1.3 above). Any postings in violation of this provision may be deleted without notice and may result in a temporary or permanent ban from the forum without notice. FINE

3.10 - Bumping of Threads
Bumping of threads is only permitted ONCE in any 24 hour period, and only if the thread has been pushed to the second page of a forum (using default viewing settings). This rule applies especially for the Trading forums. Bumping of threads by friends is NOT permitted at any time. FINE

3.11 - Frivolous Posts
Please refrain from making pointless and unnecessary posts in threads, such as "First Post!!!" "In before the lock!" or "LOL!!" or other very short messages that add little to a discussion. Frivolous posts such as these may be deleted without notice. BULL POOP

3.12 - Quotes
Quoting very large posts in their entirety is NOT permitted. Please limit quotes of other posts to those portions that are directly relevant to your reply or response. Doing so makes replies easy to follow for fellow members, and helps reduce unnecessary scrolling when reading a thread. Posts in violation of this provision may be deleted without notice. BULL POOP

3.13 Discussion of other Planet Partners
Discussion of other planet partners within Entropia Universe should take place in the “Other Planet Partners” forum. Advertising or recruiting for other Planets is not allowed. Any posts in violation of this provision may be deleted without notice. BULL POOP

3.14 Other Community Forums
Other community forums revolving around Entropia Universe or Planet Calypso will be allowed to keep a blog at PlanetCalypsoForum where they can announce their updates, events, offers or similar which requires members of PlanetCalypsoForum to create an account or log in on their site. All posts of this manner MUST be contained in the blog. Notice that these blogs are also a subject to PlanetCalypsoForum’s rules and PlanetCalypsoForum reserves the right to remove such blogs at any time. FINE

4. IMAGES, AVATARS AND SIGNATURES
4.1 - Third Party Images
All images embedded in threads, posts or blog entries MUST be uploaded to the PlanetCalypsoForum Gallery, or to your personal member album. In order to prevent broken links, the use of third-party image hosting sites is NOT permitted. FINE

4.2 - Image Sizes
Any image embedded in a thread, post or blog entry that horizontally expands the forum tables or otherwise disrupts the website layout will be edited or deleted without notice. For large images that you wish to include in a post, please use the thumbnail display or direct link options. FINE

4.3 - Objectionable Image Content
Pornographic, sexually explicit or excessively violent imagery is NOT permitted anywhere on PlanetCalypsoForum. Obscene images, pornography, or offensive content related to gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, and any other imagery or language that the Forum Staff deems inappropriate will be deleted without notice. This rule also applies to avatar, profile and signature images. In most cases, a member will be sent a private message requesting that the image in question be replaced, unless the material is extremely offensive in the Forum Staff's sole discretion, in which case it will be immediately removed without notice. Any such posting may result in a temporary or permanent ban from the forum. FINE

4.4 - Image Category
When uploading images to the forum gallery, please make an effort to place them in the most suitable gallery category. Doing so makes the gallery easier to browse for members. Images posted in improper categories may be moved without notice. FINE

4.5 - Signature Limits
Text used in your signature may not be overly long, may not use characters larger than “SIZE=3” and may only contain five (5) lines of text. Please limit graphical signatures to 500x120 pixels. One 500x120 pixel image and one line of text is acceptable, but not an image along with a large amount of text. Please keep your signature as small as possible, since large signatures clutter the forum and cause unnecessary amounts of scrolling when reading threads. Note that signatures are only displayed in a member's first post of a thread page. FINE

5. TRADE
5.1 - Auction Competition
If an item is listed in the Entropia Universe auction system, you are NOT permitted to post a sales thread for the same item on PlanetCalypsoForum. The purpose of the PlanetCalypsoForum Trading section is to facilitate deals not easily accomplished using the existing mechanisms available within Entropia Universe. The PlanetCalypsoForum Trading section is NOT provided as a means to circumvent the fees associated with the Entropia Universe auction, nor to compete with the Entropia Universe auction in any way. Any post in violation of this provision may be deleted without notice. FINE

5.2 - Trading Thread Maintenance
It is the responsibility of every member to monitor their Trading forum threads, and to respond in a timely manner to other members who submit bids or offers (either within the thread, or via private message). Thread starters should also make a post in their Trading threads indicating if an item is sold or withdrawn, or an auction or sale is cancelled. FINE

5.3 - Trading Procedures
Please try to make your Trading thread rules and procedures simple and clear. While PlanetCalypsoForum wishes to give its members flexibility in creating Trading threads, we reserve the right to close or delete any unnecessarily confusing or restrictive Trading threads, based on member feedback. 5.4 - Trading Execution
Any member who routinely fails to follow through on sales or purchases made in the Trading forum risks losing access to this portion of PlanetCalypsoForum. If you feel another member has acted unfairly in a Trading thread, or does not honor an agreement finalized in a Trading thread, please contact the Forum Staff explaining the issue, along with a link to the related Trading thread. 5.5 - Trading Thread Abuse
Off-topic posts made in Trading threads are NOT permitted. The only posts permitted in Trading threads are the following:

Bids
Offers
Requests to the thread starter for additional information directly related to item or service offered
Requests to the thread starter for additional information regarding the auction/bidding/offer procedure
Retraction of a Bid or Offer
Threadstarter reply to one of the above



Any posts that do not fit one of the above categories will be deleted without notice. If you wish to discuss the market value of an item or service, please create a thread in one of the following forums: Items, Price Check or General Economy Discussion, as appropriate. Any member found to frequently ignore or abuse this rule risks permanently losing all posting privileges in the Trading section. FINE

5.6 - Misleading/Inaccurate Sales Threads
Information provided in Trading threads should be kept factual, verifiable and reasonable. This includes information regarding the statistics, qualities or characteristics of an item, past sales, and/or market history. The use of intentionally misleading information or highly debatable, exaggerated or inaccurate claims in Trading threads is NOT permitted, as such claims and comments invite off-topic discussion and violations of Rule 5.5 and will be deleted without notice. 5.7 - Trading Currencies
All prices must be expressed in PED (or EFD for EFD auctions). Sales threads or links with prices expressed in real-world currencies are NOT permitted, as this implies a transaction for cash outside of Entropia Universe approved channels, a violation of the EULA, and will be deleted without notice. 5.8 - Shops
Any thread relating to items available for purchase in a shop within Entropia Universe should be posted in the Shops subforum, NOT in the Selling subforum. Also, please create only ONE thread for your shop, NOT individual threads for each item available in your shop. Any post in violation of this provision will be deleted without notice. FINE

After several years of "awesome" moderation of the forum you might take into consideration what he said here,.... and what he pointed out as poop ..... you really need change some rules and make some more permisive around....
too much censorship.... like china or other closed mind countries .... are you closed mind too ? or the power had overcome? .... and since all ppl use this and is in u're authority means ..... communism ? no free speech ?
make a dedicated section for free speech for 18+ .... and all problems solved.... name it the hole :)))) and whoever have problems and want solve em public : accuse / defend let them do them and wash their names so everyone see all the sides of the story not what the ones involved comment and spread out.... let us have our opinions not being fuking sheeps and obey to what authority say.

In my opinion when shit happen is better to have a place where to discuss it and to see OVERALL not just half. So accused can defend himself and say he's part of story too. That's what I mean. Or the one that got offended to can say about that and put others in care about what is going on..... And u can make a sensitive guard like who post just to shame with no reason or invent things be banned instantly ! And anyone that post should be posting using he's full avatar name in the game without any hiding or anything like:

Zarta Maiden Selios - soc Team - maybe total skills too ... so we know if he new or not.... and then the story like

I accuse Gamingrappa ..... that he didn't feed me good. (ofc I put it as joke now.... but to make my point)

Like this he can post reply and defend, all community will know the full story not what I just spread in game or he ... and will degenerate etc.... and we can solve issues and all good. Can use a good language too not swearing if that's the problem. And posts like this should help ppl solve issues and make them back friends. Becouse most of the shit happening is just because of stupid missunderstooning... Think about it.

True, but at least if that happens I could see who is my friend and who is my enemy and at least I have a chance to say my side of story ..... else..... only rumors and what others spread....

What if the avatar in question is not even on this forum or read (or even know about PCF) regularly? What if they are not english speaking or cannot read/write english very well? They wouldn't be able to defend themselves. Plus it wouldn't stop a whole bunch of friends to gang up on one avatar who maybe fairly new to the game (like less than a year) but still not done anything wrong? Using the fact that they have been around for a long time so that must be right. If you have 20-30 people saying one thing and then the accused saying something else....who are most people going to believe? It just becomes a pack mentality. I think the rules are good as they are, what you can do is make people aware of any scams etc without naming anyone and that way those who read PCF will know what to look out for.

I just had two replies deleted in a feedback thread for breaking rules 2.9 and 3.2, and another one deleted for rule 2.14 because I just mentionned having another reply deleted.

The reason for this rule is to avoid threads being brought off-topic by discussions of rules/moderation rather than the topic of the thread. As the rule text states, you are free to send me a private message or use the Contact Us form at any time to discuss moderation or rules you disagree with.

this thread is called "PCF rules discussion", so this is what I am doing? Rules are meant to be followed, I agree, but since this is the only place where we can talk about them, it would be nice to not be shutdown with "follow the rules, simple as that".

- The second was removed because you posted the exact same text again, along with a long (and again off topic) complaint about the moderation of the first comment.
My first one contained no abusive language, and did contain a part where I suggested to find ways to make players interact with each other instead of interacting with NPCs. I did say verbatim that the new NPCs "sucked", but I don't think that is abusive language?

I won't discuss the rules any further as I don't want to be censored and quite frankly enjoy the forums...

I will just avoid feedback threads from now on. I appreciate your replies @Ludvig|MindArk

There's no freedom of speech here... and your comment also violates a rule about complaining about admins. :cool:
 
there's only one rule and one rule only that over rules all the other rules...

speak good and only good of MA and that's the only rule

the rest of the rules are there just to make everything look democratic and legit.

Yea no. I work overnights at a conenience store. Let them talk. Only viable approach. The alternative is Orange Mussolini. We have better things to do.
 
Well... all rules gets added to adress something spesific in the past which means over time this forum will not be able to function cause everything we will say or do here will break at least one rule at some point in the future.

But the good news with this is that this gives space to other forums and discords to fill that void when most things are not allowed anymore on the official forum which benefits the comunity in the long run if we ignore that some of these forums over time might colaps and get replaced by other forums so there might be some history lost there.
