12 days......... in today's fiber optics world....

Took them 11 days to fulfill what I was saying in another thread the day of the ATH.

"MA decides that the best advertising is a humongous loot in game (hunter, as is the most appealing to new players everywhere, and easy to understand as activity), much better than 30k USD wasted on advertising outside the game"

How did it worked for you MA, will new players cover for the loss of the old ones? Just a reminder, people are complaining that MA buybacks of PED (aka withdrawals) are taking more than 50 business days, that's over 70 days. Even the pay-per-click sites were faster!!

Also, the story linked is raising so many flags that I do not know where to start. So is to understand that MA contacted Mr. Alan Akram of Norway, who is peculiar enough to play the game under his real name (know just a very few who does), use a L100 gun after 9 months in game and he did not played before, but was mentored by his cousin. Mmmkay...

one of the toughest monsters in the game
I know a lot of ppl hunting higher lvl mobs like THE eviscerator, eomons, dasp, warrior/drone elite etc

trying to take down a creature above my level but I had good weapons, armor.

Does this mean we are getting NEW dev notes wich actually means a damn thing!?!

has only been playing for 9 months and this is his largest loot to date
I know ppl playing for 9 years who don't even have 1/10th of that loot as top loot. I guess they are doing something SERIOUSLY WRONG

His primary weapon in the hunt was a DOA Strikehammer
My bet is that he's definatly MAXED on that weapon both hit & damage wise.
Just shows again how accurate your dev statements where or how much luck decides how your ava performs in this universe.. & this is AFAIK still a SKILL BASED game.

While it takes skill and planning to take down any creature in the game, the loot system on Planet Calypso incorporates many factors including the toughness of the prey, avatar skills, equipment, and several incidental elements.
It's not the first mulmun elite to be taken down, lol.. I was hunting these in team when I was still at 150-160 HP while I'm at 265 now.. so skills, equipment, & gear MY ASS! Luck is what determens it all. (read incidental elements)

Large loots such as this one do not affect other players' chances, and thus are always possible within the Entropia Universe system.
Yeah, I'm sure he lost 33k $ in 9 months to loot this.. Or are you saying this is paid by the companie's yearly bonus?
We do have a thing called Entropialife these days & we are NOT morons

Just my 2:twocents:

Next time you make a pressrelease like this, USE YOUR FUCKING BRAINS instead of pissing of the few players you have

Das

Edit : grats to Alan Krom, I, i no way envy to get a loot like this.. I had my share of ubers & am still performing kinda "ok'ish", I just realise what impact it has on the normal player

Well at least they finally got it out there. Here's hoping it brings more players! :beerchug:

And scaring the important players who make regular deposit and puts in good amount of money who a normally functioning companies always need.:scratch2:

Most who come following news like this are not likely to stick around.

Boy, jealousy sure is a funny thing.

Boy, jealousy sure is a funny thing.

Enough with the "jealousy" posts. DO you want a loot like this? Yes. Would you give it to someone else instead of you? NO. And if you did give it to someone else, would there be times you wished you had it back? Yes. Therefore, we are all meet the definition of jealousy.

SO quit acting like you aren't!!! :)

Any discussion about this is bound to have inherent jealous undertones. Let's get past calling people "jealous". It serves no purpose.

But you know what does serve a purpose??? Letting people speak their mind, even if they are clearly jealous, because it's not a crime to feel an emotion that ALL humans, and most animals for that matter, constantly have.

Jealousy is an ever-present entity. All you can do is ignore it. Hell yeah, I woulda loved that loot. Does that make me jealous? YEP! So what? I love people each day. I have hunger each day. I get angry many times a day. Why don't you point out how "thinking about sex is a funny thing" too? Pointing out emotions we all have every day is futile. We already all know all about it.

Whining about how "This is BS!!!!" has a purpose? Sorry bro. It does not. Reading it gets old fast and it won't change anything, ever.

Also, everyone wants new players, but everyone seems to think the odds should be stacked in favor of those who have been around the longest. Well, I've got news for you: you can't have both. It's one or the other.

Also, please, do not tell me what I would and would not do. You've never met me. Thanks.

Forgot to add this. Everyone wants new players, but everyone seems to think the odds should be stacked in favor of those who have been around the longest. Well, I've got news for you: you can't have both. It's one or the other.

Ok fine, you never were jealous. In your whole life. You are right. I don't know you. Thanks.

Your last paragraph is substantive thought, which I agree is the problem with this game. No personal loot pools means I am fucked for losing 800k ped in 4 years. It makes me want to quit, but I understand the rationale behind having loots based on luck too, like this one, in order to entice new players and to give them a chance.

How does MA balance the need for new players, while keeping the old??? THAT is the timeless question of this game, and one that I am sure they struggle with daily. If anyone has a right answer, we haven't seen it yet.

It's a bit stupid really, as well these will attract the wrong sort of person, but whatever.

My view i hunting is that if you can take down the mob, you deserve any loot it gives.

Glad this was not in mining or I would cry my heart out.

Sure, i would love a loot like this... If I got one I would quit, just tt everything withdraw and leave as I know thats the best I will ever get :p

Do you go to Vegas and complain about how it's BS that you lose $5,000 and the guy next to you won $10,000? Surely no, because you understand that if you both won $10,000, there would be no Vegas. Not everyone can win. If they do, everyone loses.

I am not claiming that MindArk has implemented an adequate solution. I would say they haven't and of course I would be open to a better one! But the odds cannot so simply favor the biggest "investors," or those who have been around the longest. It is far more complex than that, which is the heart of the problem, I'd say.

True..

But as a side-note, when I lose that much in Vegas I at least get free rooms, food, and hookers.

Ha. That's actually kind of funny because believe it or not, I have my own cynical views of Entropia. MindArk has removed quite a bit of markup from loot (Output Amps, anyone?), which annoys me. I see this as them trying to make Entropia similar to a casino, where you get a certain % under 100% back, and you can't recoup any of that loss. I see this as a problem, because no one can afford to live at a casino. On this note, I have actually said before, "At least when I go to Vegas, I get free drinks!"

Jackpot insurance, perhaps? Whatever can be adequately described mathematically can be insured against; however, MA would need to spill some beans on the loot system to buy such insurance. I'm too lazy to sift through annual/quarterly reports for hints on whether they are buying that. :ahh:

Then pls tell MA to tell us it's based purely on gamble..
Also think about the fact that atleast 100 'semi'-UBERS will leave within 6 months!
This kind of ath is just BS & 95% of the ppl playing daily knows it

And Las Vegas is gambling there are not gambling in this game, that has Swedish Lottery Association decided even if they admit that they have not looked carefully on the game.:eyecrazy:

There's always the possibly of course that the $33K ATH was an accident. Of the 458 players that have gratz him, I've not seen an MA forum signature on that list (todate)

Who knows all MA eyes where on fixing the new VU which proved costly ped wise for many players in game. Maybe MA are 'now' attempting to turn a very big mistake into good PR, and that would answer why they may have not been geared up to splash the news far and wide in the first place.

Well... it makes me smile if it was an error, at least someone got paid big. :D

Rick

I can't gratz the one who got that huge loot because it wasn't me.

I know I'm playing a game where loots like this are possible, and many other players besides myself are also hoping to hit big like that. But that doesn't matter. The loot didn't come to me. Therefore this place is a scam, the player cheated, MA's system sucks and is unfair.

The fact that I didn't even hunt that mob doesn't matter. That loot should have gone to me. (And if I had hunted that mob, and my skills/gear/time ingame were all better than this guy, that would be even more proof I'm right, but I'm right anyway, so that doesn't matter.)

Only when I get the best loot will I stop bitching, moaning and whining.

Until then, I will loudly proclaim this game that I am not forced to play sucks. I will argue with all who disagree with me. You're either working for MA or woefully ignorant.

I was promised (somewhere. Can't find it) that all I needed to do was log in, sweat or maybe depo a small bit, play a bit and my fortune will be given to me. Keep your promises, MA.
:cussing:

Thy shall not talk about things thy know nothing about. So, yeah reports aren't very good.

Don't know what makes you think so. I know enough about reading financial reports (been doing that TOO much) to expect all insurance to be lumped together and hidden in some footnote - in the best case. Hence, rational ignorance doctrine tells me that hour is better spent shooting things.

Also, "thou shalt not".

An awesome post
"You must spread some reputation around before giving it to JohnCapital again." Would if I could, man. That was hilarious!

This is an awesome post, come and keep whining whiners :yay::yay::yay:

sarcasm aside John

I was looking in the auction yesterday at all the big ticket items, and wondered to myself over the years "how many" such big tickets items are there in total 5000? 10000? more maybe if you include looted LA's, all uber armour sets, all guns, all melee uber items, all other big weapons, all big faps....blah blah.

Then I got to thinking, 7-8 year for me, and more for many others. Hunting time alone must run into 1000's of hours on big mobs let along peds.

And out of all those items within the whole game, I got paid 1 x CLD and an unlimited Level IV heal chip worth 400 peds.

Then the game wants 'me' to continue depositing $300+ a month or more for the same bull shit.....yeah right.

I'm not bitter though, I choose to chase a phantom dream, then I woke up to the insanity of it all.

Point is surely you 'earn' something after so much time and peds? You think the answer to that is.. No?

Then my answer to you is either 'Goodbye' or don't pay no where near as much as you previously paid...simple.

Rick

ps: Big gratz to Alan of course, happy for him, and anyone that risks the big mobs to get paid.

re-edited:

At least the biggest ATH ($33K) in game did come with an unlimited item...he got a fap.
