Project MINING​

Background
Hello everyone, I got back to EU some days ago and I am amazed at the sheer amount of mining logs, diaries, project here. Some of you here may still remember me from Project Neconu and Project Mining, Improved Isis LR32 or some other things. Instead of trying to necro that old project, I guess I would just start a new one since mining and a lot of things are very different now. Therefore, Project Mining is revived.

Goal
The final goal is still pretty much the same as the old one: 25000 PED profit! (markup included)

Where?
This will take place in anywhere that can be mined: Calypso, F.O.M.A., etc.

Equipment

• Finder: F105, TK220 (L), TK320 (L), etc.
• Amplifier: Any kinds. (mostly level 5 ones)
• Excavator: Improved Genesis Star Excavator.
• Defense: Phantom + 5B, LP485 Apis (L) + Dante

The first 10 drops were pretty awesome, I think I got about 7 hits out of 10. The hit rate got much worse after that and there were only like 4~6 hits within 50 drops. Finally I got a 103 PED global before I went to bed, this global did not manage to cover the losses though.

I logged on after sleeping and got another 150 PED global on the first hit , I was about 100 PED in profit at that time and decided to continue. Hit rate was again crap, but I managed to lose only 50 PED after markup in the end. I guess this is not too bad.

The hit rate is just the number of deposits hit / total drops. (e.g. 110 hits from 400 drops from run 3, therefore 27.5% hit rate) The average markup is the markup value of resources / the TT value of resources. They are not really hard to find out.

I manually keep a log on every deposit I have found (position, depth, type, etc), so I just count the number of deposits I logged to get the hit rate. I also keep the resources I mined in a run separated from those I already have in storage, after a mining run I just see how much TT value of each ore I have mined and apply markup on those. Hope these clarify for a bit and sorry for the misunderstanding.

I decided to burn 8 level 7 amplifiers and see how it turns out. Hit two belkar globals within the first 50 drops and the frigulite global on the 101th drop. At some point I was at about 300 PED profit but I decide to carry on. The last 100 drops were crap and got a lot of NRFs in the end. (considering that I had about 32% hit rate up to the first 200 drops, I think the system was just trying to offset that)

I took out 6 level 5 amplifiers + one half-broken ancient OA-103 back from 2008 found in my storage. Basically I decided to carpet bomb the whole shinook jungle area and it somewhat worked. The run was very bad for at the beginning until I hit that 244 PED durulium HoF, then it got back to crappy hit rate mode. After I finished bombing about 90% of that area, two globals popped up and set me to break even point. Finally I hit another gazzurdite global on my way back to TP and got some nice little profit.

I was trying to keep it belkar/durulium/gazzurdite only, but I went a bit too far and some iron sneaked in.

I took out 12 level 5 amplifiers and I guess the result is not very satisfying. To be honest, a horrible, horrible run. It all started quite okay with 2 globals from the first two amplifiers and I made about 200 PED profit at some moment, the next 4 were normal and I belive I was only at a small loss after 7 amplifiers. The final 5 ones were really awful with lots of NRFs, a lot of small (V) claims and I did not even hit a single claim above ample (IX), hence the huge losses.

Hope that I will be able to cover the losses soon.
