Yes, you and others decided on purpose to circumvent the system of the event that was creating more markup for the common player.

If it wouldn't make a difference....you will not recive the " 3 days trip". This affected MA profit and also others players MU profit. Same way affected your bankroll if you was a "true dedicated player".

No no don't get me wrong, I absolutely stand by that I cheated. And I shouldn't have.

But people here are blowing this way out of proportion, saying we robbed them of something and comparing to everything from stealing to full blown genocide.

But let's put it into perspective - I took the punishment from MA (and no, I have done none of the exploits you mentioned and got moderated, or any other - had to add the " or any other, or your next post would be - "so you did other exploits??? Drama unfolds"")

Let's assume 10 people or so did this gem exploit.

Let's assume half of them (like myself tbh) wouldn't even have gone for the rare token, if they had to craft to get those gems.
The other half would have crafted over the duration of the event.

Even if you multiply that by 10 and say 100 did the exploit - then I think even more than half wouldn't have gone for the rare token.

Divided out to all potential materials and all the people ingame - how much difference so you really think it would do to markup ? (Which apparently is what we have stolen according to someone somewhere in this thread)



Again - I'm not at all deflecting from the fact that I exploited - I'm just trying to put some perspective on this.

Don't compare to the Yog exploit (which I didn't do for the record, actually think I didn't even hunt during that even - In case someone wants to do some digging)
Here people was actually directly competing against each other, to win a prize, so there was a direct effect on other players from this exploit.

I will be honest and say that I'm guilty of this crime - I did so while skilling towards Mod Nano. So actually I have done shortcuts in the past now I think of it.

FOMO and a huge brain fart made me think it would be the way to do it for everyone… Seeing rare tokens left and right, while knowing it’s been a 'feature' to finish similar missions across the universe for so many years, I did not hesitate much, especially after only looting an emerald in approx 50k crafting cycle - I know at this point you’re screaming “HOW STUPID CAN YOU BE?!” - Answer is yes, all the stupid, all the way.

Happy to see some enforcing finally coming from MA, there's currently an unknown about how they're going to reset progress and penalize players. Before my lock I had turned in 16000 points through crafting my own looted components and ones made from the community, mined seriously for the first time in 6 years and actively participated in all the other aspects of the event. I had gained a rare token through completing this, which was removed from my inventory yesterday which means progress will also be reset and it’s only fair.

There are areas where my own little morals and ethics chip kicks in and says no, and areas where I think I can easily justify my actions.
This doesn't mean others and/or MA necessarily agree, but at least MA should be clear and active rather than the opposite.
What is the official position on the other issues mentioned in this post - and inaction in the past if something is considered to be wrong?

It blows my mind someone would risk and account without planning on finishing the side mission for the rare token. (wanting to see if it would work or not from a soc that had other players that had done it doesn't make sense either unless you think your soc would lie to you.) If you wanted to get the rare token, and used an exploit to bypass the most expensive part of this mission then you were taking away from other players by using this method. I wouldn't say it was stealing/robbing more along the line of denying them the chance to make mu based on you not wanting it to cost you.. which i think is worse.

Why dont we remove this shitty PVP in this game. Its shit and shit should be removed with a tissue or hot water!

If PVP was completely overhauled with decent rewards and skill gains and balanced so most players could compete competitively in it, the game would become far more active. PVP is the only thing Mindark can develop that is fun because the players make the entertainment.

It's simple appeal to sympathy in a reputation game followed by gaslighting cheerleaders.

They don't really mean it and it's not their first time. This was the least of the lucrative exploits over the years.

Personally I think anyone who got temp ban should forfeit their rare mayhem token and not have a reset on their mission. Otherwise no lesson will be learned and judging by some comments in here their likely to do it again with slap on wrist they got.

They cheated not only the players but the house as well out potentially thousands considered how hard they are to come by. while some of us who tried to do it legitimately potentially lost out on = out because they didn't put anything into the system. It's not just about the lost mu as some are going on about.

It's funny because some in here talk about getting those loot instances up to = out yet decided after their limited number attempts it was just easier to cheat. Irc isn't it.

First up, in almost 20 years of gameplay, I've generally stayed away from PvP so the thoughts of how to exploit this never even crossed my mind. I'm not the type of person who looks for the ways to circumvent a system - I'm very much a 'happy path' type of guy

I respect that Aeolus, BKK, and Evey came forward and owned up to the exploit. It's taken a lot of guts to do this. My personal opinion is that we shouldn't pile on with insults and disrespect. Owning mistakes shows character. Equally, if you've come forward and owned your mistake, don't then go back and explain why you don't really think it's a mistake in the first place. Just remember to be more like the Fonz.

On the specific point of "is this exploit stealing from the community", I have to say that in a way it is stealing. Let's be clear, when they refill the token trader, who do you think will be first in line with those rare tokens? That's disadvantaging others on what would otherwise be a level playing field with this event.

I've been trying to do this event myself (experimenting my way through it and not being very efficient sometimes), and I've got 8/10 bonus missions complete, and achieved the 10k points. The outstanding missions are the gemstones - of which I'm 300ped/1000ped complete. It does hurt to think that others just slid their way through this, but I'm willing to forgive

This is probably why the last restock this tuesday only contained a cosmetic Coat. I doubt they want to restock the vendor in the midst of all this, with ongoing cases of banning/restoring people's missions and tokens, by people who can pull items with fraudulent tokens.
