pSyCHe's Hunting Log v1

Hello,
Been on a very long break from the game, finally back and been playing a few times a week now. A lot have changed since I had been gone. The big disappointment was the removal of Iron Missions. I was so very close to completing my last mission for Berycled. Oh well. Codex seems pretty cool too. Just want to continue my hunting log. Since there is a new loot system in place. I figure it's best to just create a new log thread.
Following the advise of the Survival guide for noobs Mark Rufen Power. I decided to log my hunt of Exarosaurs. I will use the same format as my log v1.

I use tt sword until my ped runs low then I use tt pistol with shrapnel. When shrapnel run low I should have stacks of loot to sell on Auction and start my tt sword cycle again to collect shrapnel for tt pistol.

My Set up:
TT Sword with Melee Trauma Amp 1. or TT Pistol with ZX Sinkadus amp
TT knife for finisher
CDF Scout Armor
Vivo s10 for heal

Codex progress:
Exarosaur: Rank 25

My current profit is

overall profit tt= -160.74 ped
overall return%= 96.59%
total tt spent (tt in)= 4709.13 ped
total loot gained (tt out)= 4548.39 ped

Looks like the start of a down loot wave. I knew my initial lucky up loot wave would end haha. It just shows that with enough sample size all loot will get to that 95% return.

Currently on rank 13 of Codex. Figure I should also update my codex progress too.

Decided to try a different armor and also started to track the number of Blazars on each run. Exa is very popular mob for their Blazars, should be a good loot to track. We can use this data to track the drop rates on these precious Blazars. Got a Global and also saw my hero Mark Rufen Power. Changed my armors to the CDF Scout Armor since Exa does impact and CDF Scout has more impact def than Harrier Adj.

Looks like the downward loot swing continues, my tt return is now down to 98.77%! :(

Ped card is running low and will switch to my pistol to use up my shrapnels. I was thinking about using up some of the ISIS LBP 1 that I looted from the Berycled, but the DPP is very low on them and the Noob subforum has suggested to just TT those guns. I don't like to TT loots, so if anyone wants them I can TT them to you maybe just give me like 1 or 2 pec MU for them haha. So on with the TT pistol until I finish up my shrapnels!

So I started to track just the blazars at run#14 so I don't know if I can get an accurate MU calculation of all my loots as I'm only interested in tt return. I assume tracking MU means that I track all my loots (ped value of each loot) then sell on auction to see the total profit. It just seem too much work to track.
I just wanted to start my long log of hunting only exa and seeing if indeed I can get that magic 95% MA say we can all get. I think I got a lucky start on Exa, but my return is dropping down to that 95% fast now.
My berycled log started with a bad start. I remember I started at under 90% return. There were even a streak of 5 runs where my returns were around 50% to 60% return. But laws of large numbers took effect and after 11k ped cycle my return normalized itself to 96% tt return on Bery.
I also believe the blazars alone would bump me into profit haha. It's great that there are low level MU mobs available for noob like myself to grind on. I personally think this will get nerfed in the future and more mobs will drop blazars bringing down blazar mu. It certainly behaves like how sweat should behave. If history repeats itself blazars just like sweat will drop in price.

It's not so hard really, how I do mine is I track TT returns and then as I sell things I add the PED gained above the TT value to a separate column. I also track auction fees in another column entering those as I post the auctions. It's a bit more work but nothing too difficult really if it interests you.

It is not difficult to track markup from 1 mob. If your cycling peds, you add the items sold for MU separately from TT cycled once it's sold. Not before, not forgetting the auction fees. So an example would be 1000 ped balance, 950 TT returned, 75 Ped MU returned etc. This is how you learn which mobs are good and bad, just by using this tactic alone if over time your ped card is increasing, but most people can't be asked to track or hunt one mob for a long period lol.

I just wanted to start my long log of hunting the Exa and seeing if indeed I can get that magic 95% MA to say we can all get. I think I got a lucky start on Exa, but my return is dropping down to that 95% fast now.
If you are using high-efficiency attachments, you should be close to 97%. Still, I have no data to share those assumptions at present, take with a pinch of salt, however, I can say for sure that you do loot more blazar per drop with the higher decay set up than without 100% tested this multiple times and it works for me.

My Berycled log started with a bad start. I remember I started at under 90% return. There were even a streak of 5 runs where my returns were around 50% to 60% return. But laws of large numbers took effect, and after 11k ped cycle, my return normalized itself to 96% tt return on Bery.
Wow, that is pure dedication! 11000 PED cycled on Lv3 mob guys lol, that sure is a large amount of looting events to even out loot, and people wonder how they are losing so much peds, cause you ain't killed enough mobs guys. He even had 50-60% return runs in Loot 2:0? That should not happen, but it does lol.

I also believe the blazars alone would bump me into profit haha. It's great that there are low-level MU mobs available for a noob like myself to grind on. There are quite a few profitable low-level mobs (can't disclose everything I know), just people ain't bothered to hunt something for 1-3 months straight and instead focus on fast skilling up thinking that the profit is at higher levels not realising they missed the golden ticket of learning it from the ground up first lol.

You have certainly learnt a lot from my How To Survive Guides, and it shows! Lol, and I am glad I ain't the only one who can prove it works needs discipline. It's not hard to profit, all you need is a handful of mobs that have MU and that you can hunt non stop and grind it until the cows come home, boring but works!

Yeah, I do the same thing, track TT returns, sell the sellable loot in the auction (track fees) then build contacts outside of the auction to reduce the fees. Add the profit after fees unto my table, and it tallies it all up from TT+MU+FEES etc., no need to calculate profit per run, it is very boring to do that all the time.

Yep. Big time. When space update happened.
ah dang it. I should have paid attention to the updates and the market and sold what I had :(
I just read the last 3 update notes what changed in space that caused the MU change? I see they added collision and some visual/sound changes. They also updated codex and RDI lab. Did mobs in space started to drop blazars?

MA simply added other means for players to get their hands on blazar frags because they are used heavily in Gizmo crafting. Instead of letting the newbie players make a mint, they thought they would make it fairer for all (This was another way for MA to not cap their own earning potential due to shortage lol). But new quests on the planet also give blazar. RDI area can randomly drop out a large stack of frags to uber players.

I'm definitely interested in tracking MU now haha. But the issue now is that I've mixed all my Exa loots into my Bery loots and some of my shinkiba loots.
I guess I can start to separate my loots going forward. Wont be completely accurate calculation of MU, but should be a miniscule amount of data once I get more ped cycled.

If you need a google sheet, just check over my How To Survive Guide (HTS2 Hunting Log) and make a copy for yourself. No probs.

Trying out using the table format. Seem much more organized and more clear. Got a huge 84 ped global on run#30! Mostly shrapnel, but I did get a sword. Castorian defender. Same damage range at the TT sword, but faster attack speed.

Awesome table and numbers there bud! I love seeing the above 100% TT returns lol. I would advise that you keep a record of the number of kills as well. IMO this is the most important metric people need to take more notice off.

If you know, or can reasonably estimate, your average cost to kill the mob you can just divide your TT cost by the cost to kill and get an approximation of kill count.

Not 100% accurate but it gives enough information to draw fairly accurate conclusions about drop rates etc.

This is a good idea. I take a bit of a different approach. I don’t count my kills. To track drop rates I take the total TT value of the item(s) in question (the total value of my stack from the hunt for instance) and divide that by my total ped cycled for said hunt. I then display that as a percentage. So i know approximately how much TT of X item i can expect for each 100ped cycled etc. I suppose you could also take the number of item(s) and divide that as well.

Getting down to 97% tt return now. A lot of bad loots and no globals for a while. This just goes to show that no matter how lucky or how unlucky you are, when you hunt enough with enough kills / loot instances, you will end up at around 96% range (give or take a %).

Funny encounter at run# 60. There was a random Caudatergus old mixed into the exa herds. Got aggroed and I had to kill it. Was surprised by it. Wonder who dragged it to the exas

If you stick to that TT% you will end up profiting, I noticed you are looting more frags than I am on avg, maybe cause I'm using attachments?

Possibly it's the attachments. Which is strange since attachments are suppose to increase eff. You mentioned in your thread that exas are about 21 pec average to kill. For me each of my run are about 68 peds. So that's about 320 kills each time I tally up. I get about 70 frags average per 320 kills. So about every 5 kills I get 1 frag.
One good thing about the iron missions is that, it was easy to count kills.
What is your rate of frags?
I am interested in if attachments will affect frag chance.
But then it's going to be a bit complicated for me to test it. Since I switch between melee and range. I use melee to save up shrapnels and switch to range once my ped card runs low to use up shrapnel. After shrapnels are used up, I run to PA to auction off my stack of loots. Perhaps on my next cycle to range, I'll add attachments and see if there are any effects on frags drop rate.

I think it's not so much about attachments affecting fragment drops directly and more about the cost to kill. Attachments add decay, so kill cost goes up. Fragments are limited on number, you get 1-3 fragments per drop regardless of kill cost - so lower kill cost = more kills for same PED spent = more fragments

ah so if Mark takes 21 pec to kill, it might have taken me less so my kill counts is probably more than 320 kills. I was thinking 21 pec was a little high haha. I think my cost to kill is about 17 pec. Well it takes about 11 ish shots with my pistol with amp. about 1.5 pec ish ammo per shot but adding extra for decays, armor, misses, etc. I think 17 pec is a good estimate. Forgot how many swings with the TT sword with amp. It's been a while since I used that set up. Used sword until run# 25, been pistol since. So closer to 400 kills per run.
