I guess you are the kind of moderator that shall be on a forum like this, if ppl wanting things to be closed u close it..

And if you think things are going out of hands (so to say) then you give us all a warning about that and thats the way it should be :)
 
I am the one who was banned twice from this forum.....First time for a good Black-Humor joke and second time I guess I wanted 2 be banned...And I can say Mod. you could be better for sure but you doing a good job so far...
 
in difficult times when loot got less colorful and harder to get, in a time with many changes and many costy systems that havent been reintroduced yet, in a time of bugs, nerfs and other problems of all sorts, in a time of splitting up forums and planets (if not points of views), euphoric people with insane high loots contra angry people with bad loots you manged to:

make sure that there are more bridges than trolls
more information than flames
more structure than chaos
more freedom of speech than deleted posts

I bet we are not the easiest community to handle. Its money involved in that very complex game.

One thing i am very happy about in the past is that period of a scammer, and he had like 2-3 pcf-accounts and blocked all of them.
What I mean is, i have been a witch-hunter with that dude and you have been surely observant and blocking him from PCF.

Second of all, this kind of thread about "flaming" our PCF Moderator is a very cool way of handle critics!!!

Just wish MA/SEE/FPC or whatever could be here and ask for our oppinions and listen and understand what we want!

Wow - okay I guess John you must be really good when even the ban victims are praising you!

For the incidents when I had to do with you John, you always acted fairly.
Seeing your work throughout the forum I would say you might even be the best mod on here yet,
but at the very least as good as Jimmy B was :)
 
JC, you seem like a level headed person thus a good mod (basically the only one i have noticed :D ).

You let things go until they get really out of line but don't close at the slightest hint of trouble. Also it's evedent you look at situations without personal bias, the most important atrribute a moderator should have.

I vote we keep ya around for another week or two.

My ratings for JC:

Timeliness : 9/10 ( 10/10 if u could be available 24*7)
Fairness : 8/10 ( We all make mistakes hence 10/10 is virtually impossible)
Conduct : 8/10 ( Well i dont agree with his style sometimes so wont give him 10/10 there)
Effort : 10/10 ( Nothing to debate there)

Overall : 9/10 ( In my books that is better then good. Can always improve but not by much)

:scratch2: OK, got bored a sec, and remembered this post, so decided to research these.

According to our records, I've never banned you. You were temp-banned by other mods in July + Aug '09. I didn't even become a mod until Oct. '09

As for neg repping you, I searched all your reps for my name, and nope. Never negged you. Never even +repped you either.

As for deleting/moderating some of your posts, ok that I'm sure I've done, but I'm not gonna bother researching it.

You did say "probably" so you were obviously going off of memory, which is fine, but was curious, so now we both know. :)

In the last weeks im trying to sell out some items i have in game like 4 parts Supermacy armor and others items and if i sell the doa our dome I want to buy rest of parts of Supermacy to make the set and a kind of MODERATOR John Teacher Capital (JohnCapital) more one time show how young it is to be moderator giving -rep for a buying thread

I never see before moderator give -rep but moderator should be to moderate the forum not to spread -reps and BS stuff throw to the players...

If you selling items out but you still intersted in make ur armor set full if u sell the others items is fair a moderator -rep you and be rude for you write that

JC does a fine job, but it would be nice if paid employees of the planet partner did the part of moderation instead of leaving that job for participants doing it with their own free time... especially since participant mods are not always on Calypso itself, so they may have hidden agendas related to whatever planet they are on (not saying that's the case here, but I can definitely see that becoming an issue over time, in the future)

I think you should not worry about any -rep. I'm sure JC can't - or + rep as a moderator, only as a forum member. So in that context it's just another rep like any other you recieved.

Thats what i send on support is not heathy for the game when a moderator is a player.
Is not fisrt time his against me and i start feel something strange...

Giving a single -rep is not an abuse of power in any way. It's something that any forum participant can do if he doesn't like a comment/thread/person. Happens all the time.

Before the thread get close someone can explain me what is the problem selling some armor parts with more items and search for the rest of armor parts if i sell the other items?
 
JC is a volunteer here. He's also a colonist of Calypso in good standing in the community. He is entitled to his opinion. A + or - rep does not lock your sales thread or impede your attempt to sell your stuff.

Because you said in the title that you were selling out. As in to leave game. Most of us got excited. But now you want the peds to get other armor parts so you lied about leaving just like you lie about not posting on the forum anymore {removed}.

Dont lock the sales but dont help in nothing with is comments...

EDIT Seems like a mod have merged this with Mary Janes recently started ultra mega uber fail thread, so don't get any wrong ideas... JC thread is nice, MJ's thread was the fail one. :)

This brings up an interesting question such as "should moderator stay neutral and act as Switzerland, not taking sides? or should he act as normal player". In this case John acted in capacity of a normal player. However he plays both roles, being both moderator and player. He does represent though FPC in terms of official entity which punished/shamed a player for subjective reasons.
I do like John and I think he`s a good moderator that unlike others can sit and listen to reason. Situation presents tough a interesting dilemma and a potential conflict of interests between his acting in the capacity of SEE employee or acting in the capacity of a normal player.

Regarding the issue of the neg rep. Shouldn`t be good news for FPC(which John represents basically) that a customer player decided not to sell out and stay ingame to keep spending peds instead of withdrawing? Shouldn`t the purpose of FPC to encourage players to stay and keep playing? On the other hand a normal player might have his own perception and feelings towards fellow players and he`s fully entitled to express them via the rep system. Tough call.:scratch2:

Possible solution: Hire John as a full time moderator and the thin line between player/employee won`t exist anymore.

I've been on this forum for years, and I've never seen JC abuse his power as a moderator.

And on top of that, I'm a little tired of seeing these broken-english threads from MJ complaining about something new every day of the week.
