Ridiculous weapon prices.

I remember when 10,000 ped for a justifier was way beyond absolute most you would ever pay for a stupid gun.

I wonder if this 150-500k weapons drop initiated by some rumor from insider about upcoming loot 3.0. Then all these buyers are really in trouble.

If MA makes all the good loot go to the good guns owners, why even bother to shoot any gun at all?

500.000 peds = 175 CLD = +/- 600 Peds / Week with your PC shut down.
No gambling, no efficiency, no looter profession, no cycling milions of peds, no excel sheet, no sell your loot at 102%, no drama on forum.
Go fishing in RL or whatever.

what goes up, must come down...

The main reason why some of the people who purchased these in-game weapons at more realistic prices are offering them to the market at a premium price is, imo, because they see this is an opportunity to make fast money, realizing that these prices are very unlikely to be sustainable.

One way or another they will come down:
- market changes: Many ppl are poorer now due to heavy inflation of food prices, many lost their jobs,...
- p()andemic ending: back to work and less time to game
- pandemic continueing and causing millions of deaths, thinning the player base
- MA introducing newer and better stuff
- players realizing they prefer a life and some rl goodies over ingame stuff,...
- ...

On the other hand... The last few years the USD has been devaluating heavily. While the official numbers are artificially kept around 2-5% of inflation, due to the heavy money printing, the real inflation is over 20% right now as we speak. Many commodity prices, food etc, have gone up even 50% and higher. And current harvests are failing due to heavy rains and droughts, which will not ease the pressure on prices the coming year(s).
Your 100k peds of 3 years ago, does not carry the same weight as 100k peds today.

600 peds a week its the money i spend for beers lol
why would i risk my beer money with a 50k usd investment? you nuts?

-Thats what hapens when resellers just sell weapons but never use those
It works like this :
Reseller ( A )buys weapon for 10k , he instand goes trying to sell the useless weapon for 20.000 ped to some Poor guy who does not know, poor guy buys the weapon because he think the reseller (A) knows what he is talking about.

Reseller (A) tells his friend : haha i sold a useless weapon for 10 k profit within two hours.

His friend quits logic and becomes a reseller now

Today we got a few resellers, we reached the point where resellers sell to resellers

People call me a reseller... i just sell items that i actualy used for skilling or what ever purpose they had in the day when i bought, i am able to tell exactly what this item is used for , what is a Bad idea to do with it and i am able to explain why i Set the value to what ever i think its worth it because i actualy use those items big time

For people who have no idea about a item value join #price and simply ask : hey how much is this item ?

As covid restrictions continue to ease around the world (hopefully) we will likely see prices drop as demand will fall. The past year was an anomaly in this virtual universe. You can clearly see it from mindark’s annual report. Previous 5 years deposit and revenue generating activity was mostly flat. Last year was an increase of 30% roughly. Now, they have not made any major changes or improvements or added significant content to the game and we continue to see the same stale events year in year out. The only change is covid pandemic.
Mindark needed a force majeure on the world to boost the activity in this otherwise stagnant game. Call me crazy but when I read between the lines, this irrational exuberance in weapon pricing is probably going to come crashing down in the next 12 months. Maybe I’m wrong but I just see this pricing as of late as a run up to the impending market crash.
Or maybe I could be wrong and stonks only go up…. 😆

Agree with competitors on a fixed sales price - Remove competitors and get monopoly so u can choose the sales price.

alot of MMOs does this.

What would warp prices have been if pilots agreed on a fixed warp price?

Yeah pandemic pricing on equipment is in full effect . I guess the same could be said for a lot of the crypto currency out there. I also think people are more open to digital currency and assets these days so its possible the prices will wane some but I think it will cycle higher than pre-pandemic for a few years at least. MA is putting some things in place to make EU more appealing and while I think 500k PED for a digital item is quite high someone that makes a lot more money than I do might not even blink at spending that much. It's all relative though I remember in PE when I thought items over 30K PED were outrageous and look where were are today.

500k will be a bargain in 5 years... :)

I don't really agree with the "stagnant game" part of this post, but otherwise, I think it's just about spot on. People couldn't go out or travel, and the US and some other countries got stimulus checks. People literally couldn't find enough places to spend their money. That will change, though.

It hinges on other people doing all these things and paying for the rake. Nothing wrong with that, just like shares in any other business. The investor's risk remains that it ever stops, hence it is not wise to be careless about what makes it float.

Prices are indeed very high atm.. and it's a freaking migration that doesn't have anything too special... can you imagine the prices when UE5 gonna hit the game? Or if Twen would be in like a year or two? ewwwwwww

underrated opinion here.

if the game continues to grow then asset prices within the game will also grow (scarcity)

My previous point was that this game isn’t growing. The only growth in the past 5 years came from a worldwide pandemic that locked everyone inside. Prior to pandemic this game had no growth if you look at mindarks revenues (not profit, but gross revenue).

imo they got a taste and the world is only getting more and more digital. covid or not i think that game grows.

What the community need is more knowledge what to do with items

A significant impact on price Was the introduction of efficiency nowdays everyone looks to the efficiency of a item and values it by that because people think : if i spend money on a weapon that got 80% i will do profit

No you wont do profit because you have no idea what to do with it

There is much more that impacts your return : armor ,skills, know what Monster to kill, the loottable of it,how many you need to kill, when to stop and swich to something else , mining, crafting ,trading... you need to Mix everything together to be able to do good

Players who understand this will do profit whatever weapon they use
Players who dont understand this just buy what ever and start the gamble, ending up disapointed blaming mindark or other people for theyr own Fault

You're always complaining on people's threads about their prices, since like forever, covid has nothing to do with it. Everything is too expensive for you. Maybe stay L?

I ask questions, sometimes make comments.

Guess what, I am entitled to my opinion just like you are. Just because you disagree doesn't make you right.

All you ever do on this forum is talk shit about what other people say like you are some kind of authority or one of the devs.

Guess what, nobody really cares what you think about their opinion, and you don't really know more about this game than anyone else. It is all theory.

Feel free to keep volunteering your opinion though, just like I am going to.

Feel free to scan me if you see me, I think you might realize you are clueless as to what I can and cannot afford just like you are on a lot of other things.

There are plenty of people who learn from these conversations on the forum. Everyone draws their own conclusion from other people theories and such..
And yes, I will continue to put up opinions, hoping people can reach to better conclusions with better data. For example, in your case, in order to stop always bitching and whining and being salty about stuff you wish you had but seem out of your league, maybe test some of the theories out there that are not your own. Atm it would seem that your data and your theories led you to some very ridiculous conclusions :) go ahead, try it and maybe you will start complain and bitch less about everything.

Are you still talking?
FYI - Nobody is listening.

I am still listening. I find threads like this very interesting, and also helpful. For the players that can't really afford to use these expensive guns, or even use a higher budget, it serves as a way to know about the theory behind the game, and what to expect/do in the future. Evey keeps posting in threads, and they're usually full of information, whether true or not, still way better for arguments sake, than just a child crying and insulting for no reason.

Most don't care how much money players like Eve will make, but what the impact of the whole economy under them is.

You can still find a weapon that costs only twice as much, but most ordinary weapons have reached the price of 2.0 from a year ago... and the problem is that this continues to grow in parallel with the greed of these vendors.

You're obviously not listening well!
The more the upper limit increases, this affects many times the lower limit, and the difference is that the lower limit has much more losses.

Those who cry in this topic are those who want to take more money from you and as I understand from the your post they manage to deceive you successfully.

That is why they are so active in this topic. If they have no financial interest they will not participate here.

While MA was experimenting with a new interface, the greed of resellers made this game a public toilet.

Indeed it turns slowly to a public Toilet

I am curious how the UE5/New-UI wave of players will react to the prices. Will $50k USD too much to spend on a gun in a game? $100k USD?
