Space VU: Reaction of the miners - Is mining doomed?

Main issue is not the asteroids. You get some lyst, belk, iron, blau, caldo but the actual problem is the tailings. When you 1000 turnins you get 600 belk/lano/iron and other minerals like 220 redulite, 160 morph, 100-150 gold and so on. Those tailing recycle will flood the market actually.

Every time I hear that MA killed MU I have to scratch my head as MU is decided by the players. Obviously, the more players are out there trying to make money, the less MU there is going to be.

Sure, some of MA's decisions lately have been more than questionable. But the economy is solely on the players. What the game would really need is more players who actually just want to play the game and don't care about making money. Obviously that part has been rather neglected by MA content wise.

🤣😂😅🤣😂

On the bright side, miners saving up those resources on planet will soon no longer need to warp finds to caly and can recycle to nanocubes on planet. 🤣

This is very discouraging as I have not tried but not surprised in so many ways.

I had hoped a cool deal and a possible revitalization for MA.

Why people mad now ?

Thought everyone loves vendors

Lets get more vendors

The vendor stuff is a great idea , yaay who need markup anyways ?

Next vendor shud take sweat for armors like mod shadow i sugguest

One or two k Bottles per turnin Sounds realistic

Go mindark ! 💪

That's not quite true when MA controll the supply. If they suddenly increase it (especially by alot) there's no way for the market to just be able to absorb it unless they also put in new demand for it. Which they didn't.

Just remember that Mindark ain't stupid. A lot of things can look stupid in short term, but in the long term they are 100% aware of what they are doing.
Try to look outside the box, with all of this in place and new things incoming. It doesnt require much to create a cool event, where hunting, mining and space mining plus crafting is included.

Lets see what the new Mayhem Format will look like :D

Look at the bright side lads,

It gets more n more attractive to buy the platform outright. Share price in free fall since exchange listing

index.php

At current USD/SEK exchange rate the whole stack of shares could be acquired at about 5.2m USD. (57.4m SEK market cap)

Assume we're headed towards 1 SEK share price over another 12months or so, also assume the US$ will get stronger towards all other currencies.

Maybe in a year from now you could get the whole pile for 2 to 3m USD.

Instead of depositing we should just all chip in & take over the gaff, is what i'm (half jestingly) suggesting

(Already taking applications on who wants to run the DOGE)

Yes, yes...... buy the dip.

Seriously though despite me making light of things, i really do hope there is a longer term plan and that game starts to grow again. :)

Tailling refinement NPC/concept is bringing way too much and way too fast ores as already was mentioned on this thread like it happened with Resource Mayhem NPC/concept and Mayhem Tokens ignoring the people investements in gear/skills/acvities/time that were done before these implements.
Before space mining to get those ores was needed mining equipement, skills to max some equipment, time to do mining(dropping and excavating) and to gather those ores since some were very hard to find in the first place. Those ores were consumed by the same profession mostly in the recent history in mining L amplifiers or for hunt, damage enhancers. This is destroying the ecosystem that have been left. Now it only takes to do space mining/hunting, loot Taillings and refine them into ores that were used mainly to craft mining L amplifiers /damage enhancers which are used less and less each day.

I'm also just half joking & half being serious.

If the entire real world market cap is basically equal to the item value of 100 or 200 high end weapons then something's gotta give to balance that.

Go figure...

It doesn't really make sense to make an entire new system, with new skills, only to move all planet-side Ores and Enmatters right up into space.
What players need is new content, new rewards, new things that stimulate player activity and get people excited. TP-tokens can be a start, but there is so much more that could be done.

Crafting was the first to go. Mining was 2nd.

So they killed off the hunting carrot.. but they needed to kill off mining.

Only thing that is left is investments - land areas, reselling, and deedtopia.

Every action was to change the game to be player to mindark vs. P2P.. and to cut off every opportunity that players had to withdraw. Every action when viewed through that prism makes more sense.

This is a game who's foundation is a real cash economy but instead of fostering an environment for players to profit and keep them engaged, it is about stopping outflows and locking up all cash by selling direct.

There's your problem.
Webshop for keys is more important than balancing MU so yeah, this is spot on. MA lost focus

It feels like a lot of people are leaving for sure. I’m gonna stick around until the servers go dark. But it’s definitely getting quiet.
Too bad - we all knew the potential for this game to be great EXCEPT MA! Wish we could buy it - all that time we've invested and the money is such a shame to see wasted.

Great problem is the demand, that is less everyday while the suply keeps growing. People are not hunting, or if só with ul gear probably no enhc and on a much smaller scale. long gone the days where airmatrix guns where worth to bé used and crafted ,using L amps for mining ATM ia just insane as it is not possible to break even having such mu input, there is no consumption for ores,or even other hunting mats . Só unless there is some new contenent to sink all the excedentes mu Will keep droping day by day until its all worth nano %.
Space mining was an oportunity, they should have made it the new gambling , Higher costs, Higher consumption of ressources, no UL itens whatsoever, new ressources ,new bps ,Boost the PvP so there was oportunitys but with highers risks involved.
Mining planetside was the last okish working profession, where the demand was some compared to the supply, still market was slow compared to a few years ago.. but things sold..

Finger to the eye literally :D It's so insulting it's funny :D

one small example: It took me month of heavy mining to mine let's say ~200TT redulite on planet side, with high level finders and a lot of amps (that i bought from other people and moved the economy.)

It took me 12 hours to get 200tt redulite in space with level 10 tool that I bought from TT.

But i see no problem here, it's just that whoever crafted mining gear is fked in the a$$, also whoever mined on the planet is fked in the a$$, as other noobs that has 0 skills can now extract previously rare materials.

Ofc there are other opportunities on planet side, but before they were side opportunities, big chunk of it is taken to space (80%);
That's a lot of fucking in the ass.

Go on.. tell me more.

All of developing resources, in the recent past, were commited to the UL grinding spiral model, which does not require ways of creating such demand.
Hopefully developing goals have shifted and we see it increase in the near future.

Looks like they are attempting to balance this a little bit:

  • Decreased amount of Nanocubes needed for crafting Recycling Scrip from 100 to 5

Will make turning in tailings a bit more expensive, but not sure what it will look like in the big picture of things.

im still wondering what ever happened to space transport system (of goods) they hyped. I can't stand that we have large hangars on the planet and I can't USE A VEHICLE there....

Ores from asteroids should only pertain to space, whilst planetside mining should remain unaffected by the addition of space mining. Killing off every source of markup in game is not a good way to run things, unless the end goal is literally shutting the servers down..

Also, lootable pvp on planetside could use some love. But thats just wishful thinking on my part. I do think the addition of space mining is a great feature, but I dont think it should destroy the value of planetside mining.

This is all an easy fix, remove planet ores from space, remove pyrite from argus and put it all back in lootable :)

Haha instead of MA puting pyrite in lootable only they went even further in opposite direction and added it to turn ins for space your wish def ain't coming true there... I had 50p tailings left so just turned in 5x 10p conversions got 1 with redulite and 1 with pyrite. Imagine getting redulite every 5 drops on the ground.. I'm starting to truly believe they do want to shut the servers down and kill all MU and I don't know why they waste time with updates if that's the end goal I can't wrap my head around it.. MA has to know less MU = less players cycling and more MU = more players right?

Sure doesn't seem like it. They've been working to reduce MU for years, from what I've observed. I'd love to see that trend reversed, but I'm not optimistic.

That's impressive.

mining is dead
hunting is dead
people started selling out
what's next?
The best part is next... a rebirth. (of course after a lot more pain)

This game should not be a career for any player (unpopular opinion). Nor should it require investments as massive as they can be for the paltry ROI's offered (with ZERO regulation and where tomorrow without notice they can change the rules of everything). The core business model of Entropia needs a massive revamp beyond the vision 20 years ago. Many things have changed in the gaming space and there have been plenty of canaries in the coal mine showing which business models in this space can be more profitable and more sustainable (with less dead money overhead) than what's currently in place.

I remain hopeful for a rebirth, but I know there is a good chance that it won't be possible to transition and a brand new game/business may be the only way forward.

obviously they want to crash the game

100% ... but why go thru the trouble of making updates to the game like the space update is what I can't understand.. they have to know if no MU there will be no players and definitely going in that direction full speed ahead no question.. so what can their motive be to intentionally kill off the remaining player base on purpose.. its mind boggling af?
