STEAM client anyone use it?

Does anyone else use Steam client to manage games?
So far I like it, but want to add friends who also use it.

Even takes manual screenshots

I remember back in my day we would call programs like Steam spyware.

I use it, but only because I have games that I can't figure out how to make work without it.

I bought civ v and had to start using Steam,seems a bit resource hungry for me so I turn it off before i start playing EU.

Yeah I was a bit confused about that too. In the OP Steam was kinda presented as a recent miracle.
