I saw this post a while back, and thought, interesting idea...why not? I don't sweat myself, but know of friends that do....this will help.

However, after thinking about it, and seeing the volume of "sweaters" skyrocket (Nea's, IMO, has been flooded), if they make it into auction, the sheer volume of sweat will drop the price considerably. Just my thoughts, I may be wrong.

I appriciate your right to your opinion , but this thread was formed to collect names for the petition , not to debate the positive and negative ramifications of selling sweat in the auction.

altho i have mixed feelings on how this will affect the prices of sweat, i think it would be cool to see all items on auction so this is a start
 
im not sign it ... i find it good, if somme items only can sell direct to ppl or in shops.

Not that I'm "begging" mind you, but if you are in the +repping mood... ;)

By the way, I agree that not all things should be sold in auction, but I think it should be possible to do so and be a matter of choice. There are valid exceptions, and I approve of MA's change to prevent the auction of TT items. There is a downside, but it's minor compared to the upside.

I think the poster that referred to manual shopping was referring to the social aspects, and I agree, but I wanted to post more on the technical merits of having a choice:

Some times, I prefer to visit the stores and 'streets, talk to the sellers, etc., to get a real feel for the market -- is the item selling higher on the street, shop, or auction -- is it selling at all, etc... Since I rarely buy some things, I consider the potential savings as an alternative cost to my "play time". If I could potentially save 10 PED, how much time is it worth to look for that savings, in other words. Basically, the auction is "the quick place to look" and for many items will cost you more, so it's the opportunity cost that determines if that's the only place you look.
 
Already voted yes a while back on this petition,

Though I thought I would add, with the upcoming/pending Mindforce update,
Access to sweat at auction is going to be a requirement to some degree to meet the needs of those whom mine their own nexus ... or for that matter come across nexus in their mining adventures and wish to use it.

I found nothing more painful then having to goto sweat camp(s) or PA or Twin Peaks mall, twirlling on my 3rd eye waiting for sweat sellers to come and advertise at a price your willing to pay. I used to buy .6 so all the .62 .65 etc I did not even bother with going and haggling.

In the end I ended up using a trader whom was really good, though again this will be a pain in the arse to find and obtain steady supply from when there is a large quantity of peeps wanting to pickup 100k to 200k a go and expect it to be present.

I know sweating is a slow process yadda and the sweaters usually have all the time in the world to sell what they sweat at a reasonable price for their effort. Though a lot of us buyers hate nothing more than sitting and waiting for supply to roll through the door.

I do hope MA allows localised auctioning of sweat and for that matter fruit (When taming updates occur down the track) to encourage participation of the endusers of these items.

My opinion on this poll has already been stated, it doesnt matter how many times it is bumped, there are a lot more important things need fixing in Entropia IMO.

I agree with mega. It would be a nice idea but i don't think this should be a focal point for ma. Good luck with the petition.:)

One thing you have to learn;

Is these things, just as all polls / petitions are ideas that are placed forward to MA.

MindArk, never in a pink fit of sundays, even if the entire player base is to petition/poll an idea/concept forward drops what it is doing to put the petitioned/polled request into effect.

The development teams have many hundreds of items/tasks they are working upon at any one particular time.

The project overseer consults with each departments project managers, after sending ideas/concepts through focus groups and a idea/concept development processes internally of which after being accepted, will co-ordinate a priority for the task from both the project team working upon the task along with the topological priorities task management list for Entropia Universe development as a whole.

In Brief : All and any ideas along with pro's and con's and supportive polling/petitioning (keeping in mind the silent majority factors of each idea/concept put forward as to any ripple effects caused by it's implementation on entropia as a whole) should be put forward to MA. They will handle the rest as to how, why, when, who & what needs to be done.

This might be a good sign for those that believe in this cause.

Just a quick update


The support case has been open since May 13 2008 and is still "in progress".

Hopefully this is a good sign.

If everyone that is on the petition now would get just one friend to add their name , then maybe this would show MA we are dedicated to get sweat into the auction. (dung too)

Yes , they gave the standard blanket answer :

"We will forward your suggestions to our design team for evaluation."

On a positive note , the support case has been open since May 13 and is still "in progress" , so it has not been closed after their initial blanket response. To me this indicates that it still has a chance to be implemented , or at least it is still being considered.

Anyone that has not added their name to the petition , still has a opportunity to help us make the change.

Sorry mate .. I am doing my best to keep this petition on the legitimate side.

I have not offered people +reps or any other payment to join the petition , and I feel to add your name because you just need to get on a list would not be in the best interest of the cause at hand.
