Team DACH unacceptable

It is by far not a task of population density, number of player base and all that mentioned above. We decided to fight together because we did it in the past and will probably do it in the future. We might name it in another way. When it comes to kickoff rounds all teams got and will get support from befriended countries/nations who were kicked before.

One of the reasons this thread keeps my interest is that we, as a team, can relate to this situation. In fact, our doubts probably have even bigger order of magnitude as there are just much more nations involved and connections are even stronger. It not just the common language we speak. Many of us were basically born in one country.

There are people in our team that currently reside outside Russia. There are ones that are not ethnically Russian. We have representatives of Ukraine, Baltic states or Kazakhstan among others. They are not there as allies even. They just found it natural to be in the only team that represents this mixed community. Still I imagine numbers being noticeably bigger if all those nations were allowed to keep their own flag up while being a part of a bigger team with a chance. I guess it would be fair to allow them that. But would it be fair to other teams if a team made of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldavia, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan shows up next year?

We've made a choice to try it as Russia this year and see where it brings us. But what you do with your union next year and what organizers of this competition choose to do with cases like this will affect the option we go for next year. So we are kind of watching. And just like your case, it's not as much about numbers and firepower as it is about showing respect to all nations involved and giving them all a chance.

Perhaps somebody could supply a list of the support teams fielded by DACHS. A Main Team can only be a Main Team of x number of players so that makes little difference. You can have as many support teams as you can get. Therein lies the difference and I would like to see those numbers. Point me somewhere if they are listed.

Such list doesn't exist and can't exist for obvious reasons. But while DACH support is very strong, it's not as devastating as USA one for example, so they definitely shouldn't be called out on that, especially as they are a legit team competing in this tournament with permission from organizers. It's not their right to be in 2010 WoF we are discussing here (this one shouldn't be questioned since the tournament started), it's the guidelines for the future.

I really don't understand what kind of problem some people have...

As long as there is no country "double" for a union or allegiance, you can just regard this union as a new country. This is a virtual world and what exists is what we create here...

I guess Team Amethera and Team Eudoria are just the worse for you and if we scored higher, you would probably all be bitching big time about these teams...

I personally don't like the concept of WoF in EU at all... I would prefer if Nations, Politics and other RL stuff was kept totally out of EU. PFC for me is a Fictional Game where I don't want to have RL issues like political bullshit.

If WoF was a competition of Teams like Amethera, Eudoria or CP only... that would be much more fun to me... but hey, the wof is how it is and that's fine. It was my choice to take part this time, but I still think this national bullxxx is crap in a game like EU and hence I run for Amethera.

If you really want to talk about unfair Teams to WoF, then it's Amethera and Eudoria... they have no equivalent on earth and can be an unlimited amount of players...

But replacing a national country with a new one, well that's like a takeover and fullstop. Where is the effing problem ???

Get a life really if you can not loose... (and besides USA is wining anyway... you should be happy they get a challenge.. )

For me personally it would just mean that earthly nations are indeed becoming less important for Calypsians. I don't think it would be a bad change. I wouldn't mind beating Zychon Citadel with Atlas Heaven team one day. This would require a serious shift in people's minds though and I'm sure it would cause a lot of bitching on the way, especially from people who like the WoF for what it is now. People would be frustrated. I personally would probably feel something important is gone as well. But I definitely don't hate either of these teams. In fact I was just considering helping Eudoria out in one of the following rounds to make it bit harder for you

This is your personal opinion and it should be respected. May be you could consider respecting feelings of people willing to invest time and money in their probably only chance to feel what it's like to be a member of National Team. I don't think people would be this willing to participate and spend such amounts for defending the honor of imaginary land. At least not for now. And it's only natural that people care about the set of rules being used in this situation. Calling attempts to discuss this in civil manner ridiculous and labeling people sore loosers just for that looks neither constructive nor mature.

I don't understand any of this alliance and false nation bullshit. Personally, I didn't even know there was a team DACH. I do however believe that people should play for their countries... and not fake nations or alliances. That being said.... that's just my opinion. I honestly BELIEVE that an in-game tournament which is designed to put nations against nations adds an element to the Entropia Universe that you just couldn't find anywhere else. BUT.... I am not running this tournament. If Hurricane sais it's ok.... then it's not our position to whine. This is his baby and he can do what he wants with it.

Now.... WHY I believe so strongly that WoF should be a tournament of real nations colliding? I dunno.... it probably has a lot to do with the fact that I'm
CANADIAN........ and I guess we're just a different breed of people over here.... You see... in Canada, we stand with our own. We don't run away from our countrymen/women in order to pair up with cowards of other nations. If we lose.... we lose as one entity.... if we win... we win as one entity. Either way.... we do it with pride, honor, and integrity. But like I said.... that's just me and the country I live in...

I have no objections to any team joining WoF, the more the merrier. My earlier comments had a measure of sarcasm attached as I am quite aware there is no way of counting the number of support teams any country fields.

I just enjoy the way people say " oh I can lend you this, you can use my FAP, here take my Tag weapon and use it" and I meet some truly genuine people.

PW3CKA, the fact that you and others from "Team Czech Republic" keep refering to your team as team "CZ-SK"* here and at other places isn't helpfull to your cause.

* CZ = Czech Republic, SK = Slovak Republic, two separate nations since 1993.

It's pretty lame to bitch about a concept that you are making use of yourself... if you really are so much against it, why do you take advantage of it ?

I don't see a Problem with Team CK-SK because there is no team Czech Republic nor is there for Slovakia...so it's fine.

If NUMBERS of support teams is your problem with team Dach, then well, then you should not even start competing cos then there is no way of beating USA anyway...

I think the people winging here are just bad loosers... that's all...

The Rules as applied by the WoF make sense and are consistent.
