News: The Future of Mayhem: Update

I'm surprised. MA is going to lose income doing this.
It will be a test for them too. Community has asked to award active gameplay for years, now we see how it'll work out.
Short window of 2 weeks is good. Curious about the"extra" rewards In the past, I had 4 weeks of constant mayhem with a grand total of 2 (L) mayhem parts worth 110%, not hard to beat (i hope :)).

GL to MA, and to the players!

Cant wait to find out the new extra loot in the mayhem mobs ;)
People who got huge stacks of tokens are now in favor ggs :D

This is the one thing that interest me but shit if I ain't super cynical about it before it even happens. My immediate thoughts are this is just going to mean useless oils, wools and other typical crap with no markup that no one cares about is added in with shrapnel.

My hope is this means things like seasonal rings, L versions of mayhem guns, new unique L mayhem armor..etc. is added in.

Most likely weapon armor and ring, wait and see :D

1 ped tt mayhem weapons similar to E.L.M weapons would be epic, maybe mayhem ones with better dps meant to be used in particular for the new mayhem assault format.
Perhaps some with special attributes like being able to break shields more easily and so forth. There's a lot of potential here.

Though I still think that longterm they will need the annihilation because active gameplay means too little revenue.
All they need is remove the M tokens from annihilation mobs and maybe even nerf the redulite M token reward a bit. Making it assault give most reward for time spent.

It would be nice that they put back instance total time tracker and make it 2 weeks, but have the event last like a month, and you only access the instance for a total of 2 weeks (instance time) this would give most people the time to finish the mission.

this gonna depends on the items dropped in the mayhems, few L armor wont cut it but maybe upgrade parts for UL mayhem would pewpew alot

So many complainers that didn't farm RM... it's your own stupidity for not seeing the opportunity.. live with it. Good changes overall.... down voters showing themselves 😛

  1. In order to promote active and engaging gameplay within the Mayhem Instance we will be replacing Annihilation with the “Assault” style format we trialled in Summer Mayhem. This should make things more fair for all players participating in Mayhem.
  2. For similar reasons, and in order to reduce the overall faucet of Tokens into the economy we will be removing Mayhem Tokens as a drop from Mayhem Creatures. You will still be able to obtain Tokens through the Mayhem Missions.

Not sure to understand it all, I'm a casual player. :)
Thus some questions :
1 - The "Assault" Mayhem was the instance where we had negative buffers while standing under the sun ?
2 - How to get M Tokens from Mayhem if the Mobs don't drop them ? Just at the end as Rewards ?

- some people see opportunity others see consequences not only for themselfs but the game overall
most of us have been there done that at some point - some hope we can get over it and learn from the past the devs as well as the players

The attitude which got the player-base into this situation in the first place.

That's a low IQ take... I saw RM was a fantastic opportunity and took advantage of it.. just as many others could/should have so stop complaining because you messed up in hindsight. The beggars who want retroactive token changing, etc. just have regrets. Drop the salt and move forward.

Lol

Even not from Mayhem Mobs anymore :D

Dunning-Kruger could take a look at this. It's about time they moved on to 'the divided society' side, post effect comprehension now well spread...

  1. Yes you have to stand in the shade to remove the debuffs.
  2. I would like to know how to get rares now as well. The two I have received during my Entropia career came from Annihilation. Maybe they will primarily be in Seasonal Boxes now?

You're not wrong there and it's MAs fault for handing out too many too cheap and not the players but they should at least take back a % based on equivalent cost to hunt average with RMs cost with mats MU minus legacy box MU and figure whatever that average is. If it's 20% then take back 20% of RM tokens ... either that or there is no way forward for the game. You want to pull an item worth 90% less and have all your investments and mine be worthless or instead pull no weapon at all and camp vendor for next 10 years. My main concern is the actual active players who literally sat there playin the game by the rules hunting 8-10 hours a day in each mayhem who might be finally close to a pull before MA did this craziness with UL cheap tokens. We can't afford to have them all quit and figure anything MA puts out is a waste of time and money to do. But that's another problem that is MAs, telling people to not bot and have alts and then encouraging it causing more cheap tokens. At least they are rewarding active gameplay now. A step in the right direction. Hopefully stopping bots at the end of the road is the main goal and they are taking baby steps to get there without killing off their revenue by taking this first step.

Make it so rares can offset some token cost and make me happy. i've lost plenty enough at this point to get a favor from MA.

Can you really not see that what was an 'opportunity' for you made years of work of other players redundant at the same time - this was as big of a mindark fuckup as there ever was - it was so fundamental it detroyed the mu in our ingame economy by over 60% in a single year - something that never happened before.
In every other case were mindark made a big fuckup they usually shut down servers and applied emergency fixes at some point (often enough with the damage done being ignored) but in this case the fuckup was so monumental that it wasnt even considered to be one at first.
Kinda similar to the famous 'to big to fail' saying we have witnessed in that other universe were in the end it is also the ones with little investments that bail out the ones who gambled big practically what happens here ingame with everyone loosing token value so some who bought rm tokens can feel smart about it.
Those who spent alot of money on gaining rm tokens should still get their rewards noone is saying otherwise but it definately shouldnt come at the expense of those who did regular mayhems for years.

Two good posts in 1 day. Socrates carrying this community on his back just like with Next Island. Well done my friend.

We can very easily tell the difference between buzz word bullshit and when someone is actually writing behind the screen.

This is a much needed update. The Short and Long term health of the economy is always going to be in question, but I truly believe having more variety in the vendor, like what has been happening, NEEDS to continue. Apartments, Shops, Warp capable ships, UL versions of Vehicles that don't have an UL version yet, or not a lot. x343 stacks of Paint in minimum quantity for the vanity show offs.

There is no limit to what rewards can be, and I truly hope they continue to branch out with different rewards. To spread the types of rewards will help with the economy not getting huge dumps of specific items dropped at a time (weapons for example).

A couple of shops here, a couple of weapons there, a couple of mining stuff there, a couple of BPs there. If you slow drip these valuable items in varying types, it's so much different that dropped 10 Mod Nanoblades at once.

Well done!

So, what's the deal now?
They say that this is their answer to "the the feedback you have provided, the changes you see above are directly influenced by the suggestions and sentiments expressed by the community."
Are you guys seriously never going to be satisfied?
I understand that everyone sees his own interest but let's have a bit of decency folks. That's all I'm asking.

Well, I was doing Mayhems only for the "regular" Tokens, to buy Hyper Pills.

If no more M Tokens on these Mobs, I guess I'll just hunt without the 10% Reload Speed buffer, so I'll deposit 90%, TY MA !

Resource Mayhem was great event, didn't pull any tokens but I was indirectly part of it providing mining materials and crafting stuff. Did craft stuff that I usually don't craft and mined in different places.

The problem is that the NPC don't have any items worth pulling, well, compared with the super uber weapons that were available before, and the income of tokens was too high. Resource Mayhem was a nice way to boost the whole economy of the game and make all professions feeling part of something not just hunting.

In NO way am I disagreeing... Mindark shit the bed. But NOBODY here should be mad at anyone who played the game as intended... this is my only point here.

Most of the Entropia players dont seek active game play, The game always was a relaxing game, if you put to much of running around and active gameplay, most of the players wont join. You had that experience with Batsim. Just saying. Good luck!

It is not a bad idea going forward this way, but one thing scares the shit out of me, I really hated the way they made "assault" instances in the summer due to the fact that you had to spin around a look for specific things to shoot to progress further if I recall correctly? I don't want to spins around in the instance looking for some sort of stone or some bullshit like that and shoot it to progress to the next stage. Its boring and it puts a lot of people off, just make it straightforward, kill the mobs/maybe push a button/or access a portal or some shit. Stop playing around with our patience.
