Info: The Hidden Skill: Combat: Melee Damage Assessment

Im nearly there, Rank 20 in Swordsman and Knife. So i beg the question as I was looking through my skills and professions.
what may this skill provide, I do understand as to what it does, but I would like others input an what they think this hidden skill does and how it HELPS with melee combat.
Any care to weigh in?

The hidden skill aren't really very exciting, except for adding HP ( where applicable )

The new skills just add to your profession level, and offset the slowdown of level gains that happens as you get higher and higher.
