The "It's not Gambling" Paradox

I'm not saying this as any sort of conspiracy or saying anything is out of the ordinary as I believe this was a random chance hit, but a look at Entropia Life as well as strong familiarity with the crafting leaderboards and the names associated with different hits tells me that Amale doesn't gamble on recycle BPs often. Especially in comparison to many of the other people who have been grinding recycle bps. ( 3 recycle hits in the last 20 days or so.) Getting this multiplier on this particular craft is incredibly against the odds in this case, so probably very frustrating for those who have chased it so long and not gotten anything close. Anyways, big GZ Amale! Try not to take this in any way because As long as whoever gets a hit like this enjoys it a lot I'm happy for them. I don't know Amale, so Just making some observations though and trying to give some acknowledgement and sympathy to all the others who have chased it for so long. I know they will probably look at this thread lol

Some of us aren't playing against the house, not only because loot 2.0, but the money are in PVP game play...

As I always say...there are people who play the lottery IRL for years and never win anything, then some dude buys one ticket and wins millions. Yeah it kinda sucks, but it wouldn't be gambling if that weren't possible.

at least with lottery the real money goes to somewhere like education... Here well, uh...
 
These things happen from time to time. And it seems to me that it is a glitch in the algorithm like dividing 1 by almost zero. whose result will be almost infinite. where the "almost zero" could be the skill. I think the algorithm is not designed to reward people with very little skill doing things that they are not supposed to do.

This thread reminds me of years ago when a noob player got a ATH on Forma. Gambling is part of the game you get high rollers who put up big stakes. Another way of looking at it the economy is good in the game that MA is allowing someone to get such a prize. It won't be coming out of their pocket, so must be a lot player who is playing to put that in the system. Waiting for someone to strap a L13 amp to one of those mining boxes preamp finder and get a new mining ATH.

What about those high rollers that craft EP recycle everyday and get rekt?
 
Crazy how salty some of the long term players here are and also how they don’t understand this being possible is just a part of the RNG element of the game. It’s just luck, the avatar had the pockets to run that BP and hit that 1 in a >1m return. That doesn’t detract from the fact that there are a number of players who can play this game at a “consistently” profitable level not relying on pure luck, two worlds that exist in the same space and it doesn’t appear that one necessarily ruins the other.

While you can gamble in this game it’s not a gambling game, if you think it is and you have been playing for longer than a year you might be on the wrong side of the bell curve to be playing EU.

Personally I’m happy for Amale and happy to see the game still pumps out crazy loots, hopefully MA markets the crap out of this and brings a lot more attention to this epic game.
 
yes a lot of people did feel same way when even 40k+ individual hunting loots were a regular thing
guess the many complaints was the reason why it was stopped?

imho 500k is just out of proportion, 3x loots in 100k-200k range would have been much more reasonable
in any case, gz on that ath #1 and spend it good!

Here how you do the shrapnel BP's ATH , craft a lots of BOOSTED BP's [Armor Plate (L)] seem to have most guaranteed boost % so far , every 100 time give u 1% ATH boost chance , when you hit 100% boost chance , pick a BP (EP4 / Shrapnel) u wish to get ATH then BAAM , 6 digit is yours , some peoples actually do this everytime you don't even know , if u got the peds try this method i'm sure u will be suprise to see what u get :LOL:

I'm nr 1 of the yearly crafting and ofc I hoped I would hit a hof like that but I got my ath last year. So word of advice from an ep and recycle retard. Spend it on gear and leave the machine. It will only take from you now.

And when this is said, MA put the nano cubes in the loot instead of the tt. Atleast that will create some MU for the hunters cuz they need it!! And let's hope on an ath in hunting now, cuz it is getting boring to see it hit only in crafting.
 
BTW there are Eomons at 23rd, probably MA decided to encourage you people to pull wallets, a little bit

If anyone wants to try this method, know that boosted bps are generated by taking their boost directly from the TT output that was going to be given when the blueprint was generated. i.e. if you get a boosted bp with a 10 ped average boost and 10 clicks, it is essentially just a variation of getting an extra 100 PED on your hit. When you generate a boosted bp, it is not free money, the boost is taken from your tt return. Alternatively, if you buy a boosted bp for lower markup than the boost is worth, like if you were to buy a bp with a 5 ped average boost for 3 ped/ click, then that is 2 ped above your normal tt return per click. Most blueprints that are boosted are already fairly balanced in their markup cost vs. their average boost though.

First off, gratz to the player and gratz to the game! As someone said, a new ath is good for everyone when you think about it...

I lol everytime i see that picture of an avatar in harrior armor hunting LT.. its just straight up false adverising.. i mean some ubers could pull that off but thats not what that armor is designed for, not even close.. gives me a chuckle everytime.

It would be interesting to start a thread of all the greatest hits of Mindark's unpopular/regrettable/ things that didnt work out moves..

I do think EP would make the list (more for being unpopular, im sure MA makes alot of ped with that), along with that castle, compet deeptoken.. would be fun to round up all the classics!
 
The system has slot machine mechanics in it. The reason that hit is because it was due for a jackpot payout after skimming little by little off everyone.

Nothing wrong with it as it could have been you or me... but sadly we likely weren't crafting Shrapnel at that time.

MindArk can see the "Jackpot" numbers like you do in the Casino, they were probably in the office placing bets on when it was going to pay out :)

Soooooo what you say is.... that you want to gamble? My bet (given your stance on this) is that you already play the game as gambling, otherwise you wouldnt create this thread to begin with.
 
Let's craft Arkadian Golden Keys on full condition. It won't be gambling.
