The n00bie guide to sweat gathering

Thats why i dont want mid-skilled ppl there. They were harassed by Ubers probably, so now they gonna take it out on the new guys, quite natural.

Guess what....

The game is open to all, to play how they see fit, other than purposely harrassing other players

We dont like RT killers on Amethera, but it happens. We deal with it

I hunt between Phoe and Zych several times a week - long hunts that last hours. I don't take mobs to sweaters - they can get their own. It improves their skills

I'll probably get through a couple hundred corns in that time. As ulti said, mobs respawn. It's a hunting ground like anywhere else, and trapping mobs has now become an exploit as MA has removed it

We (ulti and myself) do however quite regularly bring Atrox/Armax to Phoenix to help out the real noobs. It started as being bored with nothing to do (pre-deposit day blues...), but the sweaters loved it. You can get several hundred sweat from an Armax Bull Old, and the RT is seconds away, so if they die, the noobs just come right back

But if we're talking about manners, I find noobs who come and sweat your mob while you're killing it, or skilling off it, without asking, rude to the extreme. Often these players will then try to kill it when it's dry - even when they can plainly see that you're skilling. I'm not talking about a crowd of 6-8 mobs here. I'm talking one or two. Are they really that bad that they can't kill a snabbly on their own, when the radar shows dozens of them???

This happens way too often, even though after their first shot/axe blow I'll ask them to stop. Sometimes they answer in a foreign language, but often not at all. Being foreign is no excuse - everybody understands "No!" - and PE is touted as primarily English speaking

Of course, when that happens I then take great delight in following that player for the next hour and killing all their mobs they are trying to hunt. Usually they then magically can speak and understand English when they're asking me to stop, and while I'm explaining what they did wrong

even while i was sweating long periods, i didnt really get frustrated when someone would kill a mob... after all, they DO just respawn...
i get FAR more frustrated when some idiot tries to do what firew0lf said... ah well... if patience is a virtue, i guess ive got my own ring in hell lol

Ok I was planning on doing a sweating guide on EP but after seeing this one ill post a link for here instead great guide.

I have a couple of extra tips I use when sweating ( allthough today I lost the ability to on my first armax of the day :tongue2: )

When you sweat smaller mobs if you can take their health to below half, less ppl try to kill it because they wont get any loot failing this you can always run it to the turret yourself to prevent spoilers from getting the kill meaning they waisting ped ;)

One last thing if you attack any mob then let it kill you it goes docile for a while (also being reffered to ingame as taming) and will not attack anyone every now and then it may need moving away from the turrets so just hit it once and run ;) . This method works great for bigger mobs armax, atrox and as long as it keeps getting tamied it wont attack all the time. Hope this helps

With all the help here, it would be nice if someone actaully said how to get to those areas suggested for sweat gathering, from the arrival point at the space port, without getting killed along the way. Remember that those who want to get there have no money, as if they did thy probably would not need to get the sweat to start with.

IMHO, and from the perspective of A Newby.

I bet lot's of newbies don't know ;)
Other than that, excelent guide :)

Hi, all of you - experienced players. I'm trying to collect some sweat but not sure if I succeded. Where do I see the sweat that I've collected?
That really confuses me. Thank you very much if someone can give me the answer.

Jove's done a guide on how to get all the tp's on eudoria and amethera.

You can get them all without needing anything - no gun, no fap, no nothing.

I'm new, and this has helped me alot.
Thankyou.

Howdy,

First of all, thanks for the guide, it's given me some sort of idea on where to start. Seem to have come in with the barage of new people thanks to the news. I'm probably going to put in some money at the end of this week, just trying to get a handle on how to do things before I buy fancy equipment just to break it out of stupidity.

Now to my question. As a complete and unbelievable noob, I haven't figured out how to loot the sweat (Or perhaps I'm failing?). I've run from Port Atlantis out to find a creature and gathered the sweat to the point where a few bottles of sweat pop up in a window on my screen. Yet I can't seem to loot the sweat. I try dragging it into the inventory and it just gets stuck within the popup box. How do I get it? I haven't been able to figure it out as I'm usually mauled by the creature before too long.

Again, sorry for my ignorance but any help provided would be greatly appreciated :)

Ill try this out tonight..thankyou so much for taking the time to post such an informative post

It will automatically be in your inventory... If you press "I" for inventory, you will notice that left of the picture of your avatar, there's a few buttons. They represent logical groups of items. The upper one is for weapons, below that armour, below that clothes, Tools, Medical, and then Tradeables. (I'm doing this from the top of my head, so don't shoot me if I mix something up). The tradeables section will have the sweat :)

Didnt read all...but Biffoids/Maffoids used to NOT to give sweat...

...so the umbranoids...

...same for any kind of robot... :D

Ah ok, I got it now. Thanks a lot Via, and, again, sorry for my incompetence :) Appreciate the time and effort you've put into this, gives me something to do this week while I test out various things!

Well I made it to camp Phoenix (spelt wrong I am sure) and am getting into gathering sweat. It seems a good intro for newbies (like me.)
I can get used to the controls etc, without it costing me.

A few things I have noticed, that may, or may not be correct, or even relevant.

You seem to heal faster if you don't die. So while running away is not good for others, it does seem to mean you don't have to wait so long before you're ready for another go.

As you spend more time doing it, you (obviously) get better at it.
When I first started I was lucky to get 20 a day, now after 3-4 weeks, I seem to be able to get ~200 sweat a day, and rising. Eventually I will not be able to sweat, but by then I will have gained experience in controlling my Avatar, and will be able to buy a few basics for free.

Wonder where the oil rigs are?

I have a bit of a n00b question, I've been reading lots, but can't seem to find the answer, so hopefully this hasn't been answered somewhere else, and I just haven't found it yet.

People have told me that there's some point in the game when you become UNABLE to sweat.. when is this? I've heard that it happens at certain skill levels, or when you start to use weapons, or other things, but nothing concrete. Anyone have a definite answer to this question?

BTW, Great guide Viagara Falls, thank you :D

well it appears you need to do some seraching or try playing the game sweating is an essential way to make FREE MONEY ingame, because its free you can only collect soo much sweat before MA restricts you.

any clearer now??
FREE MONEY = SWEAT from enemy in PE

What

And unfortunately today you will be lucky to get 1.9 PEC each.

Danke!

Just another newb here (potential player reading up about it, actually).

Quite informative -- the only question I still have is about the oil barrel gathering... you said it was the only other option to gain PED with nothing more than a time-sink. How viable is this as an alternative to sweating mobs? I would like to sweat it out, as it were, but in the least painful way possible, of course. I think I'm patient/masochistic enough for it...

Thank ye's!

Not very viable at all really...unless you're friends with ubers that will PK everyone for you....or you're quicker that the autoclickers that get the oil all the time.

Ah, ok. I guess you just saved me some time and embarassment.
Thankies.

PK? Autoclickers? What exactly are those?

And where abouts can the oil be found? I tried walking around all of SE, but found nothing.

As for sweating, what is the maximum amount you can sweat before I am no longer able to?

PK = Player Killer.
From what I've gathered, the oil spawns on an oil rig, which is a PVP (Player Vs Player) zone. This means that other players can kill you.
Since you don't have any equipment, you'll probably get killed by other people who want the oil, and happen to have guns.

Autoclickers I will assume are people who just sit around and wait for the oil to spawn, and quickly gather it before anybody else has a chance. I could be mistaken about that.

Sweat gathering limit... the skill itself will probably cap shy of 200, and when you cannot gather any more sweat you will get a message say you are "in tune with the universe".

{snip}

Can PK's loot you, after they kill you?

If so, what can they loot?

I don't want to lose my guns/ammo/armour/fap, just for the sake of a few pec's worth of oil.

autoclickers are people running special software to make computer atomatically click on the oil to pick it up. Some people there at the rig have been known to brag about it from time to time. MA either cant, or just wont do anything to stop it. So unless you're willing to run "Illegal" software too, you wont be getting any oil.

The PvP3 zone is the only PvP area where players can be looted. The PvP2 area where the rig is located, is not a player lootable able area.

Sounds like oil is not worth the bother then.

Where is the PvP3 zone, so I can avoid it, like the plague, please?

Dor.

Thanks

This will be very helpful.
I appreciate you all taking the time to help us poor noob's out and get past that initial frustration level.

Now if I can just stay connected to the game for more than 10 minutes I'll be good. :D

Hi folks and welcome to the guide on sweat gathering.
-----8<-----
There is a spaceship south-west of there where you can hunt without disturbing the people who want to make a few free PECs by gathering.
-----8<-----

Actually, the spaceship is the best sweating location near CP!

1) Lead a bunch of MOBs to the ship, pre-selecting them on the way. (To pre-select a MOB, click-&-hold the mouse cursor over the MOB, then drag the box that will pop up off to one side.) DO NOT gather Male Snotties, as they can hit you even when you are on the wing.

2) Walk up onto the high edge of the wing, making sure that no MOBs follow you onto it. If they do, just walk off of it and try again.

3) The MOBs will cluster right under the wing that you are standing on, so you won't be able to see them, but you can click on the boxes on the side to sweat them. You can sweat right through the wing.

4) When all of the MOBs are dry, either lead them back to CP or kill them, then get new ones.

I sweated 1.3K in a couple of hours without taking a single hit.

Thnik about it!
DeadlyDad

P.S. There is also a ledge in the battle wreckage to the southeast that will work, too.
